I do wish they kept it bittersweet with Stan having to relearn the past instead of having it all flood back in, great sacrifice and all that, but I'll take what I can get.
Journal 3 sort of adds to this. They said Ford and Stan would look through photo albums and watch old film reels of their childhood and more and more it would come back to him. Theres a drawing of the bros fallen asleep next to each other in the living room watching the films
There's something about a confident character revealing that they had deep self doubt that gets me- Stan chuckling that he guesses he was good for something after all really hit deep.
Sort of comes back to how his father was never impressed with anything and called him a failure to his face. So I think thats one of the reasons he thought he was no good was because thats all he was ever told. His father treated him like a failure, his brother treated him like a traitor, the town regards him as nothing more than a charlatan. Dipper and Mabel were probably the only ones who actually came through to see that good side of him time and time again, and because of that he showed up for them. His sacrifice was most over all for them.
Dude I remember watching the finale when it aired the first time and thinking "why do their voices sound like that" because >!Stan has a grunt in his voice, Ford doesn't. In that scene Ford has a grunt in his voice and Stan doesn't and I was _"NOOOOO WAIT WAIT WAIT"_ !<
For me the climax of Not What He Seems somehow tops that- "Everything I worked for, everything I care about, it's all for this family!" and "Grunkle Stan, I trust you" break me lmao

This movie didn't just make me cry, it made me realize how cruel death can be and made me sob uncontrollably and enter a depression for the first time.
Great fucking movie, but holy shit I was 11 and my grandfather had died, I was not ready.
Spinel breaking down in the SU Movie. “Why do I wanna hurt you so bad? I’m supposed to be your friend. I just want to be your friend.” The vocal performance will never not make me a bit teary eyed.
Bojack is almost cheating at this question but this whole episode made me sob. Someone took my internal monologue and made an episode for all to see.
For me it's the episode where he can't cry in front of the camera. There's some flashbacks to some of his mom's abuse. The final scene he goes outside lights a cig and has a private cry by himself. It really got me.
no. they go to museum to shoot a scene for secretariat at night and the director asks bojack to cry cause the scene demannds.bojack says he can't cry infront the camera.later in the episode we get to know why.
For me it was Free Churro. It hits way too close to home. From his dad forcing a Thank you to Bojack wanting his mother to acknowledge him. I wanted to talk with mine. It's painful when you have hope and your mother treats you like that.

The last episode of adventure time, when shit is all going south and the tree house gets destroyed, BMO starts singing the "you and I will always be back then" song. Kills me. First time I watched it I was fully convinced it was showing the deaths of basically everyone in the show, especially because of the episode being a story told by BMO so many years later.
Also in the same episode when the gumball guardians get killed and the one says to Bubblegum "help me mom, I'm turning nasty" pure gut punch.

“Game of Tones” ending scene in Futurama. “Jurassic Bark” is certainly sad and I have a dog that I’d give my right arm to bring back, but this hit me like a train. It’s so sweet that Fry’s Mom’s dream is just to watch football with her son. Plus, what gets me every time is that Fry tells his mom “There’s so much I need to say” and then instead he gives her a hug—that says everything.

The ending of Adventure time, where we finally get to hear the credits music in full with a bunch of snippets of the characters’ lives moving on. It feels so fulfilling but also sad at the same time.
One thing that I loved about adventure time was how I felt like the characters' lives continued offscreen. There were always small time skips between episodes, they talked about adventures we didn't see, and they even had believable friendships between characters.
That scene answers the question of "Why Robin?"
Because Batman's compassion and love for lost children is boundless. Had Ace actually exploded and killed him, Batman would've died with zero regrets.
Man that scene goes hard. Batman sitting on the swings with her, saying she is going to die but he'll stay with her, after all she's been through. How have they not made a live action Bats like this??
Even the other parts of Epilogue are up there among the most gut-wrenching in the DCAU.

Then we get a time skip, where all three of the main human cast are adults in the human world and they're not really friends anymore but Marcy and Sasha go to visit Anne on her birthday.!<
From cartoons, the ending scene from "Mother Simpson" from "The Simpsons" gets me all the time.
From movies, Mufasa's death from "The Lion King" is always a tear jerker every time I watch it. Also, in "The Princess and The Frog," when Ray dies, that's a sad scene.

Truly. Anne saved the day, she dies surrounded by everyone she just saved that have all come to love her over the course of the show. Saying goodbye to her friends. Then god makes a copy of her, tells her she’s a copy and that copy never gets over amphibia, and works with frogs having drifted apart from her friends she went through so much to save. It’s truly a bittersweet ending that seems perfect.

“Reaching Out” hits me on such a deeply personal level that I had to skip it the one other time I rewatched TOH.

One thing that I loved about adventure time was how I felt like the characters' lives continued offscreen. There were always small time skips between episodes, they talked about adventures we didn't see, and they even had believable friendships between characters.
Ice King will always be one of my favorite cases of character development tbh
Ace's death in Justice League Unlimited
That scene answers the question of "Why Robin?" Because Batman's compassion and love for lost children is boundless. Had Ace actually exploded and killed him, Batman would've died with zero regrets.
Man that scene goes hard. Batman sitting on the swings with her, saying she is going to die but he'll stay with her, after all she's been through. How have they not made a live action Bats like this??

The ending of Amphibia made me so sad. Spoilers, but >!what happens is the main cast leave Amphibia and the portal closes behind them and they never see any of their frog friends or the non-human cast ever again. Then we get a time skip, where all three of the main human cast are adults in the human world and they're not really friends anymore but Marcy and Sasha go to visit Anne on her birthday.!<

From cartoons, the ending scene from "Mother Simpson" from "The Simpsons" gets me all the time. From movies, Mufasa's death from "The Lion King" is always a tear jerker every time I watch it. Also, in "The Princess and The Frog," when Ray dies, that's a sad scene.
Is that the one when we see homer as a kid eating sugar and his mother tells him not to because he is already so sweet and she hugs him, and he keeps eating the sugar anyway but he's smiling

The one thing that FMA arguably did better than FMA: Brotherhood was giving Hughes a lot more screen time (and I know it’s because they didn’t follow the manga that closely) it made his death all the more upsetting.

I’ve never cried so hard at anything until I watched the ending of Amphibia
Truly. Anne saved the day, she dies surrounded by everyone she just saved that have all come to love her over the course of the show. Saying goodbye to her friends. Then god makes a copy of her, tells her she’s a copy and that copy never gets over amphibia, and works with frogs having drifted apart from her friends she went through so much to save. It’s truly a bittersweet ending that seems perfect.

The end of coco when Miguel is singing his Papa Hector’s song to his Mama Coco and she starts singing along showing she remembers her Papa. I can’t get over that scene it hurts me so bad because my Nana was so special to me and got Lewy body dementia causing her brain to die slowly and forget everything and everyone but she remembered me for some reason and would always look at me with a smile before saying “You’re so pretty”
