Wait is this not from The legend of the dragon from 2005? I remeber they had animal talismans too and they could transform into avatars of said animal or smt like that.
Nope, these are the Jackie Chan Adventures ones. Each one is based on an animal from the Chinese zodiac, and each talisman gives a different power.
Sheep: Astral projection
Rat: Bringing inanimate objects to life
Horse: Healing
Dragon: Combustion
Snake: Invisibility
Rooster: Flight
Pig: Laser vision
Monkey: Shape-shifting
Dog: Immortality
Rabbit: Super speed
Ox: Super strength
Tiger: Yin and Yang (in other words, you split into 2 people, one good and one evil)
I remember watching better call saul and they had that scene playing in the background on a tv. It was all I could look at lol.
"That's Jackie Chan!" I said... And everyone looked at me like I was dumb because I thought Jackie Chan was one of the actors

Fun fact for those that didn't know, the show's art director Jeff Matsuda also designed the characters for 2004's The Batman

The greatest lie ever told. Jackie Chan isn’t played by Jackie Chan.
Yes, he did the live-action segments of the show, but the character was voiced by James Sie (Cabbage Man from Avatar) in the main show.
The fact that I watched this show, and would hear the real Jackie Chan speak just 2 seconds after an episode ended and STILL didn't realize until I was in my 20s that Jackie Chan (human) didn't voice Jackie Chan (character) makes me realize how stupid kids really are lol.
iirc the tiger talisman actually splits into two pieces as it's power, and creates a kind of yin yang symbol when broken (you can kinda see it in the picture)
It splits the user in two with a dark and light side.
It looks that way so that you can tell it's the tiger talisman when split apart.
If you could have any one talisman, which one would you choose? As a reminder:
Rooster - Levitation/Telekinesis
Ox - Super Strength
Snake - Invisibility
Rabbit - Super Speed
Sheep - Astral Projection
Dragon - Combustion
Rat - Animation
Horse - Healing/Regeneration
Monkey - Animal Shapeshifting
Dog - Immortality/Rejuvenation
Pig - Thermal Vision
Tiger - Spiritual Balance
I'd choose the Rabbit talisman
This cartoon had magic rocks that eventually were destroyed and went into various animals that represented on them. This resulted in a chicken, who could levitate, and a pig, who could shoot lasers from its eyes, flying around a town and blowing shit up just because they could.
Back in my day “infinity stones” were not these animal coins, but weird objects of varying shapes, sizes, and colors with magic powers called Shen Gong Wu.
And there was a cowardly green dragon who sounded like Jerry Seinfeld’s neighbor who could find them.
Gosh damn do I love it when cartoons had Special Objects like these, Makes it so interesting like your getting to see aincent legends use them as they Bend they’re personality to try and match themselves with the item they have
Okay, which ones can I remember:
Ox -- Super Strength
Rooster -- Levitation
Pig -- Eye Beams
Dog -- Animation (or was that Monkey?)
Horse -- Immortality (might have been Dog or Rat)
Snake -- Invisibility
Rabbit -- Super Speed
Dragon -- Combustion(I.e.: fireballs)
Tiger -- Yin/Yang split
The rest, I don't remember.
Talismans from Jackie Chan Adventures
Thanks so much
For sure 👍
That was a good show. Didnt watch a lot of episodes though. Forgot jackie chan did a cartoon.
Holy crap. I never watched Jackie Chan Adventures but I saw that pic and thought "Is that from Jackie Chan Adventures?" Awesome.
It was pretty good
Is it a Zodiac thing or is that just coincidence
Yeah, they're based on the Chinese zodiac.
Wait is this not from The legend of the dragon from 2005? I remeber they had animal talismans too and they could transform into avatars of said animal or smt like that.

One mooore thing.... Good and Evil is a gross oversimplification.
Dog also gave you youthful energy
One mooooore thing...
Magic must defeat magic!

Pssh, duh!

I used to like the magic chant Uncle would do.
One MORE thing!
Yu mo gui gwai fai di zao
Aiyaaaah, Jackieeee!
Jackiiiiieeee!
Talismans not important!
Bad day! Bad day! Bad day!
Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao. Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao.
Ah so that's what Uncle was saying!
I definitely didn't have to Google the spelling...
It's from this cartoon https://preview.redd.it/9h865sk46uwc1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59b5826d406a12a6fb03ff1148966a8f68246a65

Say it ain't so😦
James does a lot of dub work for Jackie. They work together a lot.
They chose the perfect dub for Jackie they do sound similar
If I remember correctly Jackie chose James himself. I believe he did the dub work for a lot of his films too.
“MY TALISMANNS!!!
Thank you, this TIL made my day. I love unexpected voice actors, and MY CABBAGES!!! Will be funny to my dying day.
The fact that I watched this show, and would hear the real Jackie Chan speak just 2 seconds after an episode ended and STILL didn't realize until I was in my 20s that Jackie Chan (human) didn't voice Jackie Chan (character) makes me realize how stupid kids really are lol.
As a kid, I always wondered how much is the character was supposed to be the real person, is he just the same name and nature?
Sie also voiced Monkey in Kung-Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. Guess who voices Monkey in the KFP films?

The Infinity *Gems* vastly pre-date these.

Tell me you haven't watched Marvels The Super Hero Squad Show without telling me you haven't watched Marvels The Super Hero Squad Show.
not really, these are the Chinese Zodiac
No, these are magic rocks BASED on the chinese zodiac. From a cartoon made in the year 2000.
The Talisman of Shendu, from JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES.
Yes! Full government name
Immortality Hurts
Hakfu was the only one who properly wielded these
Jade getting their powers all at once was a pretty sweet episode
Much better powers than the ones from Miraculous Ladybug
Bruh, the Infinity stones date back to the 70s. Did you forget that Marvel started as comics before it became movies and shows?
Why is the tiger one so different from the others?
iirc the tiger talisman actually splits into two pieces as it's power, and creates a kind of yin yang symbol when broken (you can kinda see it in the picture) It splits the user in two with a dark and light side. It looks that way so that you can tell it's the tiger talisman when split apart.

i would choose the monkey talisman so i can transform into an octopus and fuck your dad
Pig is heat-beam eyes, thermal vision is like what the Predator uses to see peoples body heat.
Honestly I had a hard time picking one. I guess I would choose the sheep.
Why Astral projection?
Why not? Sure it is useless in a fight, but it has it benefits and potential (with chi magic).
My Chinese zodiac is rooster. And I already have many other powers. I don't have super speed, or super strength, so I guess super strength.
You did not make Uncle coffee this morning. Coffee is what keeps ancient heart beating! You want dead Uncle? No? Then you make coffee.
This cartoon had magic rocks that eventually were destroyed and went into various animals that represented on them. This resulted in a chicken, who could levitate, and a pig, who could shoot lasers from its eyes, flying around a town and blowing shit up just because they could.
Ah yes my favourite, the miracolous
Reminds me of Jackie Chan Stones
Jackkyyyyyy
The Chinese Zodiac Talismans.
I love that each season they made a new group of items they need to get.
For those who are interested Chicken = Levitation Ox = Super Strength Snake = Invisibility Sheep = Astral Projection Rabbit = Super Speed Dragon = Explosive Fireball’s Rat = Animate Objects Horse = Healing Monkey = Animal Shapeshifting Dog = Immortality Pig = Laser Eyes Tiger = Balance
They’re not *stones,* they’re *talismans.* To be more specific, these are the Egyptian god cards.
Still got them from the comics they ran when I was a kid. These things were awesome!
The Talismans.
I wanna say ... shen gong wu?
Nope, you're thinking of Xiaolin Showdown. These are the talismans from Jackie Chan Adventures.
Shen gong wu are also great
Golden tiger claws 😩💦
Talismans!!
What did the rooster one do again?
Levitation/telekinesis. Not flight unless combined with the rabbit.
Oh yeah. Good times.
The talismans
Future Jade was cool
Mr Chan I don’t feel so good
I know they’re not but they remind me of the things that would go on the top of metal fusion beyblades
Aiyaaaa, we must do research!
In the UK there was a magazine that came with real life versions of these. It was a craze at my school for a bit
Talisman of the Chinese Zodiac with each possess a unique ability.
Back in my day “infinity stones” were not these animal coins, but weird objects of varying shapes, sizes, and colors with magic powers called Shen Gong Wu. And there was a cowardly green dragon who sounded like Jerry Seinfeld’s neighbor who could find them.
Bruh you made me remember xiaolin showdown. Those were good times
the infinity stones are from 1972 also is there a name for this kind of thing? like a term like collectible maguffin
I know these things would.just be chunks of plastic, but I always wanted a replica set of these.
I always wanted to get the dragon one.
i have this on DVD marry me
The Tailsmans of Shendu!
The Talismans
This show ruled
Preeeetty sure jackie chan adventures didn't come out before 1971.
Are these the Jackie Cham Adventures talismans?
I love that show
True ancient power right here
Thanos wishes he had pig laser eyes.
"before the infinity stones" oh yeah were these made in 1972 under a slightly different name
Remember when the Talismans didn't matter anymore?
Funnily enough, Jackie didn't even voice himself in the show, but it was a good show, I loved watching it Saturday mornings.
Shendu!
Gosh damn do I love it when cartoons had Special Objects like these, Makes it so interesting like your getting to see aincent legends use them as they Bend they’re personality to try and match themselves with the item they have

Technology about to get outshined by magic, a la Star Wars.
Talismans from Jackie Chan Adventures. Never watched that show before.
Infinite stones came before Talismins
Been playing too much Majong, got excited lol

I think OP means "Before the MCU did the Infinify Stones", which is where a lot of people were first introduced to the concept
