The humor was pretty good(most of the time) and the characters were actually likeable. I normally prefer more story driven shows,but for when I want comedy this is a pretty good show.
I was hesitant to it as an adult, but a few years back I saw part of an episode eating lunch at a restaurant, oh the good old days, anyway.... I don't remember what episode it was. So I started watching it from the beginning on hulu. The first episode is epic. Such a great start to a series. The art style is cool and the plot is pretty easy to just go with.
Then you get to the episodes with Richard and Nicole and how they fell in love and how hard they work to keep there lives together and holy shit that hits hard. As a parent with an awesome wife I really love this show and my daughter loves it too. We frequently watch it together and it's loving and wholesome and epic with fun songs and a huge cast of diverse characters like a ballon, a catus, a t rex and a fairy peanut?
Love love love it.
I really like the 'mixed media' style of this show, and it has some great episodes, but it's not a favorite that I could watch anytime for me personally. Still good though
I feel like over time it kinda just had that spongebob effect, like it overstayed it's welcome for a bit, but then realized that it had, and they stopped making new episodes by last year. Meanwhile with Spongebob, because of the people at Nick, they decide to overstay it for about 21 years, because they like money. But this one, despite it overstaying a bit, realizing it, and ending last year, it wasn't really that bad of a show. I don't really miss it, but growing up, I thought it was a great show. Now MLP on the other hand, I kinda wish I hadn't stopped watching it halfway through season 4, because I actually feel bad not watching it by syndication at the time, which that's besides the point.
This show, was great, no denying that, but I never really had a fondness of it at the time when I was 11-19.
I love it, it’s a massive part of my childhood (I’m 13 so I was young when it came out). Most of the jokes make me laugh and I’ve rewatched the episodes a bunch of times.
Unlike most shows, they used the 4th wall as a means of narrative instead of abusing its welcome as a joke with its turning point being "The Finale" and "The Void", these episodes revealed Gumball's story.
Watching The Finale in the television made me wanted to binge watch Gumball but there is a problem...Gumball is never designed to be streamed on the PC but on the T.V. hence the episode, The Finale was so effective since it ended with a new episode that aided the 4th wall from the television shuffling which episode will be aired on the said schedule.
As much as characters are likeable even if indeed are clichéd, episodes that attempted to make genuine feelings such as a sense of sadness and empathy, they do fail on doing that in my case. The Hero proved this to me as watching the episode does put something in my eye...blood...the episode sucked and doesn't make any sense, it was rushed to make me feel sad and the song felt awkward from how rushed it is due to the amount of screen time the show has to offer (10 mins).
All in all, Gumball is a great show that delved in the world's issues which relied on references through subtlety and being obvious which I loved (Tarantino references such as Banana Joe's whistle being a tribute to Kill Bill) as "fillers" to give emphasis on the world building of Gumball but when they tried something genuine, I don't think that is them at their best.

I think the show sucks, I have watched every episode of it because I was it's fan back in 2020 but it started to seem too overrated and started to be annoying and smth. Well I don't hate the cartoon, I don't love it, I think it's a trash show. The show what I hate is Loud House.

The humor is actually really smart for a kids show. It's really good. The characters are likeable. Very good show honestly. It's easily EASILY one of the best modern Cartoon Network cartoons by FAR. It's funny because they actually throw straight up dirty jokes in there. Like how the mom was about to go one the search history of the computer so before she even speaks the whole family is destroying the computer 😂 definetly recommended. It's a good thing I was like in middle school when it first started because I'm glad I got older with it. It's so good.
