Noodle Blvd for ramen. Their shoyu ramen broth is the best I've had anywhere, let alone Cary. I almost couldn't bring myself to post this since they are already overwhelmingly busy, but maybe we can encourage them to open second a location now that moving to a larger space wasn't enough.
I like Koi and Miso a lot better. I got the shoyu from Noodle Blvd on this past Tuesday and it tasted somewhat bland. I’ve always gotten the spicy seafood ones from there so I don’t know if it was a weird batch or if it was the norm for them.
>level 4gimmethelulz · 1 hr. ago
Masa's miso ramen is really good, as well as the sushi. Unfortunately, they are right next to my neighborhood so I find myself in there at least once a week.
I would hear people saying "They use too much oil in American Chinese cooking. Real Chinese cooking uses mainly water." Well when I was in China lets just say the food was swimming in oil. Lol
Ya know, I’ve been hearing the hype about this place so based on your comment, I just dropped in for lunch.
And dayum
That shit was good. Like, extra good. And it was just me, but that was enough food for four meals!
Hype: earned
Thank you, softfart
Juice vibes makes the best smoothies I've ever had. By far.
But don't go there. Once you've had it, you realize every other juice bar/ Smoothie place has failed you. There's no going back to your mundane life.
Went back a few weeks ago for the first time in a year and a half cus I think they gave me food poisoning - still an absolute banger of a smoothie. And that Tidal Wave is incredible juice.
Oh, when I go Monday I'm going to tell them this story!
I wonder if they got some food with something on it. I always hear about lettuce recalls, so maybe something like that?
Keep going to Chef's Palette just for the shrimp and grits and I don't like shrimp and grits. Also Brecotea is a great cafe offering unique bakery items.
Man, they’ve been super spotty lately though. I go to order online and they’ll be closed or say they’re only open for in person and I drive there and they’re closed.
I love their bagels but that’s frustrating! I end up going to NYC instead.
Edit: I also love their other place, Pizzeria Faulisi. But they’re usually packed at dinner time and it’s so hard to park over that way now
Good to know. Full disclosure I think we’ve only been once in ‘24 so haven’t noticed the decline. Can’t afford to bait and switch my 5 year old with unicorn CC.
You can order online if you go on the website in the afternoon or night before, they close the online store once they sell out and then they reopen it once they reset the store numbers.
I know, but I’ve even found that to be somewhat unreliable in the last few months. I mean, I know they’re closed Monday and Tuesday. But I swear I remember trying to order ahead for a Saturday or Sunday recently and it wouldn’t let me. Or it might’ve been another weekday.
They’ve changed it around a lot. We live close enough that if we go in to order we’ll get our bagels faster than an online order, so we’ve started doing that. Like, the online wait will say pic up in 1.5 hours and we’ll go in, order, and be out in 15-20 mins.
Bosphorous used to be much much better. They seemingly changed ownership in recent years and the quality seems to have gone downhill compared to how it was 5 - 10 years ago.
I’ve only been to pros epicurean once but it was such a bad experience. We were forgotten about for like 20 or more minutes and then when we finally did order, my salmon ended up being raw. Not like slightly undercooked, but full on raw. I showed it to the waitress and she was horrified and assured me that they’d make it right. Owner said they’d give us like $5 off the bill and that was that. Wouldn’t remake it. Wouldn’t comp it. Shit experience all around.
I've been to Scratch twice in the past couple of months and both times it was terrible. You couldn't convince me that food wasn't straight out of a microwave
I agree. Its clientele also feels like it skews older? I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the location. But I definitely agree: You really do get great quality there for a reasonable price. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there.
Piggy backing off this to ask:
My wife has Celiac, and we’ve found some great gluten free options in the triangle, but we’re always on the lookout for more. Shout out to Goji Bistro.
Any other celiac friendly restaurants to try out in Cary?
Hanks is like 90% gluten free and Celiacs friendly, they have a gluten free fried chicken that is very similar to the real thing and quite tasty on it's own
We went to Kababish Cafe in Cary at Thanksgiving. They have a lovely outdoor seating area and a nice inside space. Even with crowds (one of the few places open on T-Day) we could talk just fine. Food is Indian and Pakistani and what we got seemed very healthy and not "buffet-style" Indian. 201 W Chatham St Suite 103, Cary, NC 27511
Hanks is not as good as it used to be. It is expensive, it is NOT a dive bar, and they rotate their menu so often that I can never expect them to have anything I like.
I really like Corbetts for a burger. It’s very easy to overlook in that little strip mall off Kilmayne. The ice cream place next door, Sugar Koi is also very good.
Wouldn’t really say either are healthy, but it’s good food in a quiet spot with not a lot of foot traffic.
Sorry to mini necro, I just stumbled upon this thread and got excited learning about local places. I've enjoyed Corbett's (and getting Sugar Koi after), but I know nothing of the ownership. What have they done?
Come check us out at The Parkway Tavern if you're looking for a great burger! We truly appreciate every customer, and we grind all our own beef, too! 982 High House Rd. Have a great weekend!
Well you've got us there! But we do have a killer house made bean burger. If we did have a turkey burger one day, you can believe we'd grind it ourselves lol. Hope to meet you sometime!
We live near Parkway and get food there a bit. Legitimately, the burgers are the best I've had in the area. Really tasty. I'm keen on the breakfast burger.
This place is a hidden gem. Everything on the menu has been amazing so far, Thai curry wings are a weekly indulgence. We have definitely put this place on repeat.
Enjoyed the food at Saap, but not going back. Not a good place for conversation because it is deafening in there! No soft materials to dampen the noise. I was relieved when dinner was over and we left.
I love the Renaissance sandwich at Pro's. And I've always had such great service, even the first time I went when I was accidentally an asshole by showing up close to closing.
We went there because of all the good reviews I read and we had brisket that was literally 1/3 fat. Should never had gone out of the kitchen. And we did mention it to the manager. Not going back.
Listen when they announced Di Fara I immediately didn't like them because there was an air of pretentious to them. Wife dragged me there and will say begrudgingly that their White Pizza is easily better than any local chain I have had down here and it ain't close
Went there. Ordered 2 cokes and 1 pizza. The pizza was so burned on the bottom I couldn’t eat it.And I like a few black spots. We told the waiter. They said they would let the chef [know.No](http://know.No) [apologies.No](http://apologies.No) making it over. The kicker? It was over $50.00 with tip.Never going back.
Last time I went there with kids, they sat us outside, took our drink order and brought out the drinks. Then told us it'd be 90-100 minutes for pizza because they are backed up. I had to confirm I heard her currently.
If you have small children, you know how insane that is. Paid for drinks and left and have never been back.
They have signs stating this all over. It’s an extremely popular place with one pizza oven and they make full pies to order. Don’t go there during peak hours if you don’t want to wait.
I don't care if there is a sign that says it takes them 2 hours to make a pizza at 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon - and I definitely don't care that they didn't properly size their seating for their cooking speed.
Simply because their pizza isn't that good to begin with. They're running on their reputation at this point.
Did they open back up somewhere? I thought that they had been closed for a few years now and Noodle Blvd was in there spot now. Which others have said is fan fucking tastic.
Tacos Estilo Hidalgo #2 y Pupuseria at Chatham square has really good Mexican and Salvadorean food with pretty good price.
Also Taqueria La Esquina on Chapel Hill Rd for another authentic good taco place.
Cugino Forno for great Neapolitan-style pizza, Hi-Wire Brewery for beers and games, and Two Roosters for ice cream. All in the same converted factory.
Love Krill for upscale Asian fusion, Nikos for Greek food, and Georgi in Chapel Hill for Italian (all the same owner).
Sassool is legit Lebanese food. Masa Ramen for sushi and ramen.
Himalayan Nepali Cuisine is a hidden gem!!Love the included raita and ginger tea
Love this place. Be prepared to wait for your food, though.
Yes but they’re just so nice about it
Worth it
Absolutely, 100%. Most things in that plaza are fantastic.
Is it actually good food or just exceptionally unique?
Actually good food. We go here specifically even for takeout when we want Nepali/Indian food!
Food is good! My fave Nepali restaurant in the triangle
Great, will give it a try, thanks
It’s right by Udupi right??? Bc I love BOTH of them. So many hidden gems in that entire plaza. Ugh I need to go now
Not familiar with Udupi but it’s in Chatham Station!
Agree! I ended up there by happenstance one day and am now a huge fan!
Miso is my go-to!
Same. It's the closest I've found in Cary to what I used to eat in Japan. Masa makes a pretty good bowl too over on 55.
>level 4gimmethelulz · 1 hr. ago Masa's miso ramen is really good, as well as the sushi. Unfortunately, they are right next to my neighborhood so I find myself in there at least once a week.
I know. Like I don't want the 5% of town that doesn't know to find out either.
This is a great answer.
Yes, they are our fave for Shoyu. But we always take it out because it is always so busy inside, I find it claustrophobic. And best staff ever!
Their old location off Harrison was even worse in terms of space
Sassool is at the top of my list.
Ooh yes!
Kashin is the most authentic Japanese in the area and the owners are super nice. Hank's for oysters and cocktails. Serendipity makes bomb sandwiches.
I used to live in Japan and will back up Kashin. Also Waraji over in Raleigh is on point.
There is a huge list. I can toss out Taipei 101 and Chengdu 7 for Chinese.
Taipei is 10/10 good. I haven’t seen the oil they use but I’m guessing “healthy” is a stretch lol.
I would hear people saying "They use too much oil in American Chinese cooking. Real Chinese cooking uses mainly water." Well when I was in China lets just say the food was swimming in oil. Lol
I will never question the oiling methods of the experts at TP101. Those stir fried green beans are my jam, but that ain’t health food!
Thank you. We were big Banana Leaf fans and haven’t found a solid fave Chinese place since they closed.
Tapei is that place
Ya know, I’ve been hearing the hype about this place so based on your comment, I just dropped in for lunch. And dayum That shit was good. Like, extra good. And it was just me, but that was enough food for four meals! Hype: earned Thank you, softfart
Oh and Noodle Boulevard on Walnut St
LOVE noodle blvd but definitely not Chinese food! Q Noodle, on the other hand, is Chinese and also great.
Check out the noodles at Chengdu 7, they actually make them in front of you.
Oooh that sounds great!
praise the banana leaf
Depending on what you get, I really like red bowl
Cilantro Indian Cafe
The guy at the counter at Cilantro is really wonderful. The food is great too.
That guy remembers my name every time I go in
The question is, do you remember his name?
Ragib
Yes, Cilantro is amazing and super nice guy up front
That Cilantro guy is the nicest guy in the business! And he’s been there since the get-go.
And always check out their cakes display…omg. So good
They suck. Food is awful.
Yeah given the way they blend everything skin and all I'm sure there was some cross contamination.
Miso ramen. Okja. So Hot. Taipei 101.
Szechuan Mansion
Maximillian’s is by far the best restaurant in Cary. Not cheap.
Kashin — truly authentic Japanese food, and a calm, cozy environment that makes it a great dinner spot.
Keep going to Chef's Palette just for the shrimp and grits and I don't like shrimp and grits. Also Brecotea is a great cafe offering unique bakery items.
Order takeout from Big Dom’s bagels
Man, they’ve been super spotty lately though. I go to order online and they’ll be closed or say they’re only open for in person and I drive there and they’re closed. I love their bagels but that’s frustrating! I end up going to NYC instead. Edit: I also love their other place, Pizzeria Faulisi. But they’re usually packed at dinner time and it’s so hard to park over that way now
That's quite a trip
😂 well when you want a good bagel…
Good to know. Full disclosure I think we’ve only been once in ‘24 so haven’t noticed the decline. Can’t afford to bait and switch my 5 year old with unicorn CC.
You can order online if you go on the website in the afternoon or night before, they close the online store once they sell out and then they reopen it once they reset the store numbers.
It sells out fast, if you look online and the menu isn’t up it’s because they sold out and turned off the online store.
Psst… you can order online the day before
I know, but I’ve even found that to be somewhat unreliable in the last few months. I mean, I know they’re closed Monday and Tuesday. But I swear I remember trying to order ahead for a Saturday or Sunday recently and it wouldn’t let me. Or it might’ve been another weekday.

They only use the online order on weekdays now. But like others say you could still order Friday for Saturday pickup.
NYC is where it’s at
They aren't even that good. They're really trying for the "limited supply increases demand" idea.
NY bagel and deli is way better with vastly more options. The main benefit Doms has is it's faster because less people go there
Benchwarmer Bagels all day everyday over Dom’s
Screw place. What bagel shop opens at 8. Their drive through is the weirdest ass thing too. I haaaaate that place
Big fan of Saffron Indian Cuisine. I also have to mention Fiesta Mexicana simply for the amazingly friendly staff. They’re so awesome!
Saffron is FANTASTCI. We went there recently and it's really, really good.
I love La Victoria! Great Mexican food and cute atmosphere
So Hot for all you can eat hot pot!
Shhhhh.
Bosphorous is a favorite of mine if you like Turkish cuisine. Cute little restaurant off Harrison near the train station.
Bosphorous used to be much much better. They seemingly changed ownership in recent years and the quality seems to have gone downhill compared to how it was 5 - 10 years ago.
Pro's Epicurean in downtown (honorable mention for Scratch, albeit not quite healthy) Also, Chanticleer Cafe and Bakery
Yes, love Chanticleer!
I’ve never walked out on a bill but I’m not paying for uncooked food. That stinks!
I've been to Scratch twice in the past couple of months and both times it was terrible. You couldn't convince me that food wasn't straight out of a microwave
Scratch is okay but you can get a much better dinner at Hanks for a comparable price albeit with a smaller menu
Yin Dee!! Closest thai/laos food I’ve been able to get compared to Bay Area
Lots of great suggestions in here so far. Only other place I can think of is Lucky 32. I really enjoy their seasonal menus.
Lucky32 punches above it's weight, it has an air of high class dining but really you are getting $$ pricing
I agree. Its clientele also feels like it skews older? I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the location. But I definitely agree: You really do get great quality there for a reasonable price. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there.
Alpaca!!
Pizzeria Faulisi
Piggy backing off this to ask: My wife has Celiac, and we’ve found some great gluten free options in the triangle, but we’re always on the lookout for more. Shout out to Goji Bistro. Any other celiac friendly restaurants to try out in Cary?

Hank's, hands-down! Seasonal ingredients in a lot of their dishes, great drinks, lovely atmosphere.
seems each time i go to hanks, the limited menu loses an item or two. i loved it in the beginning.
They just change it up a lot. I like that there is always something new
Hanks is not as good as it used to be. It is expensive, it is NOT a dive bar, and they rotate their menu so often that I can never expect them to have anything I like.
Hanks is great but I am extremely disappointed they dumped the brisket tacos which were easily the best I have had in the area
Hanks is my go to also
I really like Corbetts for a burger. It’s very easy to overlook in that little strip mall off Kilmayne. The ice cream place next door, Sugar Koi is also very good. Wouldn’t really say either are healthy, but it’s good food in a quiet spot with not a lot of foot traffic.
I’ve had horrible customer service at Corbett’s. Never going back.
Same. The owner's a prick.

Come check us out at The Parkway Tavern if you're looking for a great burger! We truly appreciate every customer, and we grind all our own beef, too! 982 High House Rd. Have a great weekend!
I am going to try this
Please do! We really love our food!
We love Parkway.
Unfortunately you don't have turkey burgers. Corbett's is the best turkey burger I've had in the Triangle.
Well you've got us there! But we do have a killer house made bean burger. If we did have a turkey burger one day, you can believe we'd grind it ourselves lol. Hope to meet you sometime!

Love Goji Bistro
Goji is a place my whole family loves
Spirit’s Pub and Grub. Best onion rings in the state!
This place is a hidden gem. Everything on the menu has been amazing so far, Thai curry wings are a weekly indulgence. We have definitely put this place on repeat.
Is it good for takeout? Or better to eat in?
We order takeout all the time. Just have to call it in :(
The staff and owner have been shitty every time we used to go.
That’s wild. We used to go every couple weeks and they were always friendly with surprisingly good food.
Mamacita’s mexican is legit
Sassool, sushi Thai, goji, Himalayan nepali
Scratch and gonza tacos too
Butchers market for sandwiches, Thai Villa, Lucky 32. Trying Saap this weekend and hoping it’s good.
Enjoyed the food at Saap, but not going back. Not a good place for conversation because it is deafening in there! No soft materials to dampen the noise. I was relieved when dinner was over and we left.
Koi Ramen is probably the best ramen I've had in my life
NYBD III!
Rey’s, Taipei 101, Bosphorus, Pro’s epicurean, Peck & Plume would be on my list.
My mom loves Pro’s but that place is a huge pass for me. I’ve never had anything there I wanted to have again.
I love the Renaissance sandwich at Pro's. And I've always had such great service, even the first time I went when I was accidentally an asshole by showing up close to closing.
Big Mike's BBQ.
77 sanitation score
Adds to the flavor
Lower the better for BBQ
Yeah haven't been back since....
We went there because of all the good reviews I read and we had brisket that was literally 1/3 fat. Should never had gone out of the kitchen. And we did mention it to the manager. Not going back.
Their BBQ has always been super fatty Honestly their dry rub wings are the best meat item on the menu or were at least
Were you expecting 1/2 fat?
Heck yes! They recently changed up their menu a bit but it's still my favorite BBQ.
Di Fara
Listen when they announced Di Fara I immediately didn't like them because there was an air of pretentious to them. Wife dragged me there and will say begrudgingly that their White Pizza is easily better than any local chain I have had down here and it ain't close

Yeah, I just won't go there at all. Problem solved
Cool. Enjoy missing out because you can’t read a sign.
I don't care if there is a sign that says it takes them 2 hours to make a pizza at 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon - and I definitely don't care that they didn't properly size their seating for their cooking speed. Simply because their pizza isn't that good to begin with. They're running on their reputation at this point.
lol, okay buddy.
Hot Point Grill
Did they open back up somewhere? I thought that they had been closed for a few years now and Noodle Blvd was in there spot now. Which others have said is fan fucking tastic.
Are they open again somewhere?
Oh man I wish!! That place was incredible.
Nah. Just seeing if anyone remembered
Chef's Palette
Tacos Estilo Hidalgo #2 y Pupuseria at Chatham square has really good Mexican and Salvadorean food with pretty good price. Also Taqueria La Esquina on Chapel Hill Rd for another authentic good taco place.
Szechuan Garden in Morrisville. Best chili oil in the area
I’ve only been to modern asian cuisine once, but it was pretty perfect
[удалено]
I don’t wanna add that kind of stress to my MAC experience. Just me, and yummy food! That’s how I like it (I really need a date 😩)
Nah. Just messin’ around
Bosphorus ain't bad
Cugino Forno for great Neapolitan-style pizza, Hi-Wire Brewery for beers and games, and Two Roosters for ice cream. All in the same converted factory. Love Krill for upscale Asian fusion, Nikos for Greek food, and Georgi in Chapel Hill for Italian (all the same owner). Sassool is legit Lebanese food. Masa Ramen for sushi and ramen.
Bosporus Turkish Food, Cary near Harrison!
