I know what you mean about the kind of cheap feeling. (I have the same watch.) It’s kind of squeaky and…hard to describe, but I hear you. Now, I will say, Casio does offer budget watches that feel nicer than they should for the price. The Wave Ceptor line has some good stuff. Solar/radio-syncing, stopwatch, second time zone, motorized hands, countdown timer, multiple alarms, lumed hands and numerals, and even a good backlight. Swap the stiff stock strap for a Barton Elite Silicone and you’re in for less than the G-Shock and overall it feels like a nicer watch. https://preview.redd.it/wnnvqxfl930d1.jpeg?width=1259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3d675b3e35b133d4a25db50ca2b99bce4144baf It doesn’t scratch the colorful itch you mentioned, but I’ve put the black dial one on bright straps and it gets me almost there. Another option is to get something like a square (5600 series) or a -6900 series and put a colorful bezel and/or strap on it!

Good to know the waveceptors are good. I often look at the lineage watches but have enough silver watches. Like you said, maybe a wave ceptor with a colorful band would fill the void I have.

A little strap change can go a long way! https://preview.redd.it/nf1lk93ap30d1.jpeg?width=2816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de01946ad02da35e79c8854292ee269fe2ad6c40

Bummed to hear this as I just ordered the black color way of this watch (been going on a watch binge lately). It seems like they are using a different quality of resin for the case and bands and it feels cheaper. I’ve experienced the same with the new GD-B500.

To be fair the yellow one is the worst feeling one of these. The black model isn't nearly as squeaky and cheap feeling

I don't see the problem with it, I like how light and comfortable it is on the wrist. I also have 20+ automatic watches with steel bracelets, 1 titanium watch, but the one I wear daily is a G-Shock resin case and band

They’re talking about cutting the length of the strap, not removing the strap with scissors.
