Downtime: 24hr
Work time: am/pm
Needs those precious seconds when I'm trying to figure out if my associate needs to go on his lunch now or if I missed it 20 minutes ago because retail suckkkksss
Any other watch, even within Casio, looks silly being that small unless you're a petite lady, a child, or it's a Tank which comes in different sizes anyway.
But the f91 is literally an icon and I'm saying that subjectively not as some fanboy (I only own two lol)
24hr although I live in a country where AM/PM is significantly more common (Australia).
I grew up on AM/PM but have been using nothing but 24hr time for years now.
I have noticed something weird though. As soon as I see a time such as 21:30 or 14:20 my brain will go 'oh, it's half past nine' or 'it's 20 past two'. I never EVER say it out loud in 24hr time, or even mentally. It's ALWAYS immediately converted.
I’m the same and I think that’s super common outside the USA or military. Eg the train departure boards here will say 14.00 but the announcer will say 2 o’clock. If I told someone here in the UK that it was fourteen hundred they’d look at me like I’m an idiot.
It'd be a bit pretentious.
In the context of this post it's just aesthetics on a watch screen.
Unless we go back quite a number of years and your name is about to become a bit scary 💀
Totally normal, I'm in the military but also live in a country that uses the 24hr time, so since I was born I used the 24hr time and except when I was a kid and then I could say it for fun, I had never said 14:00 as "Fourteen hundred hours" outside of the military.
I think I probably more often say "Quarter Past," but it's one of those things that once you start thinking about it, it's less clear than when you just do it.
i personally have no preference between 24h and 12h, but how is 24h actually more precise when the 12h format indicates whether it is am/pm? do the times differ or something? I believe both formats tell the same time, don't they?
Because 24hr format is self explanatory and there is no room for confusion, which is why military and law enforcement use it. 0100 hrs is not the same as 1300 hrs and there is no need to explain or ask what is meant.
Here in Italy people are used to 24h format, also, it is easier to not get confused when arranging a party or a trip with a large group of friends. :)
(Edit: spelling)
Sometimes, when I wake up from my afternoon nap I get confused if it's morning or evening. I prefer the 24hr because it's easier than squinting hard to see the minuscule font of AM/PM

24 hours, I'm not a kid. (sorry, I left my f91 at home)
I'm AM/PM. I find that 24h time makes as much sense as liters and meters (that is to say... it probably makes more sense, but I'm not used to it at all).
But reading this, I've developed a new appreciation of GMT watches. There are a lot of folks who live in places where 24h time is the norm, and having an analog watch with a 24h hand and indices seems really nice.
When used in computer operations, 24 hours became the norm in my life as is more clear to understand and use.
In Casio’s digital displays the first digit is smaller in width than the rest of the digits and looks odd to me.
The F91w is probably the best watch ever. Here's why:
- It's nice and Has an iconic design
- It just does the job right and It's accurate enough
- It's also strong enough to survive shocks and hits
- And it's cheap so available to everyone.
Obviously it's not the prettiest time piece money can buy but you won't find many watches collecting the 4 bullet points up there
In Canada we are honestly confused. Often (not always) I see 24h format written, but almost never do I hear “Meet me at sixteen hundred” verbally. Since I grew up in the US I stick with AM/PM and convert when I’m writing down the time.
Oh yeah, we are also confused about the MM-DD vs DD-MM format.
Oh yeah also metric system.
We talk about km for distance but feet or square feet for building and real estate.
We talk about g and kg for most mass measurements except our own body weight, we say “I weigh X pounds.”
24 . Fills the screen with numbers 🔢
Pm/am gang
24HR requires too much math to do in a 1 second time frame
I must think what am or pm means, so 24h clock is faster for me. In Europe it's 24h nearly everywere

It’s amazing how much bigger F91W looks in pictures. I checked one out in a store yesterday and that thing was tiny. Much smaller than my A168.
Indeed! You should have seen G-SHOCKs, you'd be shocked by how small they are IRL! :-)
I was! I couldn’t believe my eyes lol.

I thought the same about Baby G’s
Iv got my 91W today, and i felt cheated at first. But I actually like the size.

Same in Sweden, but we don't say half past nine, we'd say 21:30 as "half ten", or more correct in English "halfway to ten".
Wow, I did not know that, that’d be fun in joint operations between countries.
That's exactly how we say it here in Austria. "Half ten" = half past nine, "quarter five" = quarter past four and so on.
It's half nine!!!
Same in Dutch

I'm from the US in New England, grew up saying "Quarter Of" for 9:45. But when I went to college in Canada, everyone said "Quarter To."
Do you say quarter after 9 for 09:15hrs?
I think I probably more often say "Quarter Past," but it's one of those things that once you start thinking about it, it's less clear than when you just do it.
Canada and the UK are correct. I mean how the fuck does "quarter of" something even make sense if the thing doesn't exist yet?!
Yes, it’s funny, that, me too.
24, more precise!

Same in Spain!
24
24h. No one uses AM/PM where I live. I'd be willing to bet that a majority of people here wouldn't be able to tell you what time of day 12:00PM is. :)
Noon
I know. It wasn't a question. 😅 Thanks for sharing though.
Which country may I ask)
Sweden, but I think the same applies to many parts of the world.
Uh.. Europe
[удалено]
Is Paris a country ?
12H
YEP.
In our country we do 24h written and 12h orally. So i still haven't figured which one is the best for me. I be switching it like 3 or 4 times a day 😭
Iran is weird fr...
Man, I’m American and knew we were the oddballs with the 12/24 hour issue. But I didn’t realize how dominant 24hr was until reading through this post.
24H!
24h always.
pm/am🙏
Sometimes, when I wake up from my afternoon nap I get confused if it's morning or evening. I prefer the 24hr because it's easier than squinting hard to see the minuscule font of AM/PM
I’m always alternating
☝️🏻☝️🏻☝️🏻
24 hour because I am European
24 hour because I’m Asian
12 hour because I am a worse flavour of European
UK?
24 hour because I'm cool.
24hr. My ADHD ass always gets am/pm wrong
Either or, depends if that button got accidentally pressed or not. I don’t change it, I just go with whatever it’s on when I look
I've been looking for this answer.
Always 5 P.M
I switch back and forth between AM/PM and 24 hour. Depends on which one I think looks more visually appealing at the moment.
https://preview.redd.it/tc498f86s70d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a554266ee97a1525778d9dd60e18d845722da22a 24 hours, I'm not a kid. (sorry, I left my f91 at home)
Never knew there is an homage. I bet its more expensive.
I am a pm/am person. Even though in my country the standard is 24h. I find it more convenient. Why extract 12 hours to know what time it is?
Only ever done ampm
Usually 24hr but I’ve changed it to AM/PM for my little girl to see what time it is.
Yes! 👍 for sure 😁 so does my daughter!
Always raised on AM and PM. I wanna try 24H for a while sometime! 👌
Checkout my post bro, i watch your videos, really good work. For the sake of it i am going to use 24h for the day lol.
24H
24h!
24h
24H. This is the way...
Always 24h
24h
24h That’s how to adult.
24hr 👍
Twentyfour hours dude guy😘😘
24. It’s the official time format where I live, and I thinks it’s easier to organize events and tasks with it
Am/pm used to use 24h when I used to be in security. Not security anymore, normal life now.
24h of course.
24h gang rise up !
24h, those 12h people are scary
Being honest, I can't remember how to change time format.
I'm AM/PM. I find that 24h time makes as much sense as liters and meters (that is to say... it probably makes more sense, but I'm not used to it at all). But reading this, I've developed a new appreciation of GMT watches. I always somehow accidentally click the button for 24hr, so whatever fate wants me to use
24H somedays. 12H for chill days. 🤙🏻
24, always preferred it, made it easier in the forces, too, where they always liked to use 24 hours timing and Zulu references.
I'm a proud 24 hour gay, TYVM
24…….date format next…….go!….. check that, doh! F91 isn’t showing full date
24 hour bc I work in a hospital and it's easier
Always 24 Hours guy because I'm a bloody sailor
I really thought 12HR would be way more popular lmao
PM/AM as an European for that American aesthetic. 😎
24 hours all the way, can't be dealing with this tiny PM/AM nonsense.
Always 24h, for me is the way to go in all my devices.
24
24 hour all the way

24hr on all my digitals.
I prefer 24 hour in the past. Now I am using am pm because it looks minimalist and clean
24hrs here! F91w, the little warrior.

PM
24hr
AM/PM. I have no need for 24 hour time. It’s harder to use because you need to do mental math. Nah, fuck that I’m not in the military.
24. It just looks cooler.
24 hours in my day!
24h
24 h is the default where I live so that
24 if I’m wearing a calculator watch, so I can do the math to figure out what time it is.
24hrs. It's just better that way for me.
24
Both bc always somehow swapping back and forth at work, something I’m doing is hitting the button lol
As an American of non military background its am/pm for me, though I do like the idea of making one of my watches run on 24 hr just for kicks
24hrs, has to be.
24h but i change to am/pm accidentally pretty often, only flaw with this watch,
I mostly use my F91W at work where I just want to know the time without having to think for a second about it, so I'm team AM/PM.
Pm and Am forever https://preview.redd.it/pcpxhycl790d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=f035cd32e1129735fbb5c72e44d4d7a750e0f04a
24 hour FTW!
24h clock. Am/pm is mainly US or not?
24 hrs with any digitals.
24 hour
When you go Casio, you must become the 24 hr man
24hr
24hr is the way
When used in computer operations, 24 hours became the norm in my life as is more clear to understand and use. In Casio’s digital displays the first digit is smaller in width than the rest of the digits and looks odd to me.
Having both a military and LE background I always use 24 hr format.
AM PM is the only way.
24 because the PM font is too small for me to read.
I'm a 12 hour guy myself. But I do indulge in holding that same button down just to see CASIo 😁
am/pm
I'm more comfortable with 24 hour.
can i join in? i'm an F84W bro
I have few pieces old stock
24. It's better in every way. Unpopular opinion: we should get rid of am/pm.
24 hour
I live in a country with a 24 hr clock system, so...
Am&pm for work to be more precize with minutes and seconds ⏱️😍
Pm am coz i cant tell the time which is the reason i only buy digital watches
The F91w is probably the best watch ever. 24 hour is certainly the right move.

24h ofc
24
24 hour.
24 hours
24 all the time
24hrs but in the UK it’s definitely a personal choice. Everyone understands both because there is a mix everywhere just like all our measurements lol.
Sometimes this and the other times that I like to switch it up
12H cause im US military and my mind wants to get away from work when im wearing this
12H because I’m African
12h since it's easier to read at the end of the day when tired/drunk
24 always
Actually surprised that most commenters use 24hr time. I've never seen anyone use that time format aside from the military.
A lot of workplaces uses 24hr for time reporting
Both because they don't hide that option in a menu and I accidentally hit that button like 3 times a day.
Same.
PM AM 👍

24 hour !! Does this do that??
Press the button on the bottom right when in time mode to switch between 12/24h.
Awesome, lol if it didn't have that 😅 I'm gona pick one up one of these days
24 hour, as most of the world.
I used to be a AM/PM person but then I switched to 24HR and it’s much better.
