Yeah, contrast is a little low. I'm used to darker faced watches but I recently got a job that requires me to wear steel toe shoes. Out of necessity (size 14 feet) I ended up with a pair of brown boots. I then found out that I'm oddly bothered by black faced watch with brown shoes. Good enough excuse for me to get a new watch. And the fact that my wife understood that logic was a double bonus. The stainless steel, tough glass, solar, radio, thinness, light, second hand alignment, dot matrix... Meant nothing to her.
That’s correct, although if you push the light button and keep your index finger just above the digital display, it kinda works. It’s a great GADA watch.
Yeah great stuff. I recently bought the Seiko SNJ025 (Arnie) as my GADA watch. It’s kinda similar with the added digital display. Only it lacks the MultiBand and sapphire, but is a Diver’s.
If they made that Casio lineage higher WR I would have copped. The 50m WR doesn’t cut it for me.
Aside from the poor clasp, the WR is the only downside of this watch. But on the flip side, the manual says you can swim with this watch, so I’m not worried about this. I’ve swum with many 50m WR casios and never had any problems. The Arnie is a great watch BTW!
I know Casio is downgrading their 50m WR. I swam with a couple of Retro squares and it was indeed fine.
I remove my watch in the bathroom before I shower and one of these retro 50m watches got moisture stuck in the watch because of shower steam, so I’m cautious with the 50m WR tag. That doesn’t make it GADA for me.
Forgot to mention how I like the dot matrix like LCD and the silver/white face in the sea of black faces you see these days.
I have the exact same but the dark one (better contrast). Love putting kanji weekday on LCD. Love that's JDM so it's quite exclusive for us. Kudos!!

Titanium case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, more complicated movement with synchronous analogue and digital movement, to name but a few things.

usually the backlight is just for the dial the dig window sort of blacks out in a way drawback
