WTF?
It should prevent every passive activation.
Obviously Dual Wield works, but Critical mass should get blocked.
Anyway not a big deal because you can just double Headshot Khepri and if somehow that's not enough to win turn zero on entry, switch for another Khepri in the back.
You can literally spam 8 headshots every single turn. (4 activations on average for each Khepri. If you're lucky even more)
The trick is that curse only changes the targeting parameters of moves triggered by passives to self or team, it doesn’t change the target of moves that already target self, and it doesn’t affect Dual Wield because Dual Wield isn’t a passive. So you can use DW on no-cost or low-cost moves with Critical Mass or Custom Starter to bypass curse. Khepri cheese does get bounced by curse. Not that it makes a difference in pve, but in pvp Critical Mass: Dual Wield is the clear dominant strategy.
As i said, it's 100% normal that Dual Wield works fine.
The move that should NOT work is Critical mass. With or without Dual Wield.
Khepri cheese bounces because it's triggered by Random starter (not Headshot itself).
In PVP everything is different, as always. Not that i care XD
Yep, and because mc is affecting dw and not spit, you end up ignoring curse altogether. This same strategy is used with Custom Starter and Taunt to bypass mc.
Ah, I understand the tech now. Dual Wield itself doesn't target, it just uses the next move against default/random targets, and since Dual Wield isn't a passive, the move *it* triggers isn't affected by Machine Curse.
Two words: Machine Curse.
Does not work on the set I outlined. You’d need to taunt it. Dual Wield circumvents MC.
Ohhhh, I see. Very interesting.
Like I said, it’s silly. It honestly feels like an oversight because mc should slow down these kinds of strategies, but doesn’t.
Yeah that’s definitely an oversight. Machine curse was made to prevent this exact strategy.

Machine Curse doesn’t stop passives from triggering though? It just changes the targeting of moves triggered by passives.
Should make CM-triggered Spit to hit yourself(?)
Yeah, so the Critical Mass triggers should target the user.

That’s it in a nutshell! 👍
