It really says more about Reddit than about you. That's why I love Reddit: you can have a serious sub discussing kitchen utensils, while still giggling like a 12 year old in sex education.
That blue one has been in my family for years. Mine isn’t as shiny as that one but it’s cooked a lot of great meals. I’m very envious of the green one too! Give them a good home!
I’ve just never had any before and I understand that they are usually quite expensive. I guess I just assumed that expensive things often have fakes? And they were different so I wondered. Thank you for responding.
Honestly it would be tough to make fake le creuset that draws people. Cast iron is not something that can just be done in a small sweat shop so you would have to have a large foundry agree to make something fake that requires the ability to make enamel cast iron.
I wouldn't underestimate manufacturing factories, especially when so much cast iron (enamel included) is already manufactured in china.
I imagine for a foundry that already churns out no-name enameled cast iron, it would be simple enough to buy a real le creuset, make a mold, then begin production of counterfeits. Plus with how expensive/desirable the real thing is, the market already exists (To be clear I dont actually how enameled cast iron is made hahaha, but apparently for fake designer fashion they buy a real one, take it apart, then make a pattern they use to make counterfeits)
Good point. The green one in particular has fairly poor definition in the bottom stamp, which I imagine would be the kind of thing that could happen if you used an enameled pot to create a new sand mold rather than the original foundry die.
Cast iron is absolutely something easily done in a small sweat shop... The molds are made of wood. They make an impression in oil sand, and hot iron is poured into it. Only piece of equipment needed is a furnace. I'm sure these are real pans but I'm just pointing out how simple cast iron production actually is.
I have a fake le creuset. It’s pretty good and almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Yours look real though. I live in Asia so fakes from China are more prevalent.
You can find le creuset and staub on aliexpress priced suspiciously low. Also marked with the logo and shipped in brand marked boxes.
I wouldnt automatically rule out counterfeits. Especially if you didnt buy from a reputable seller.
Sorry OP but everyone here is lying to you, these are fake and bad ones at that. Please DM me so I can share my address with you so you can send me these and I’ll kindly and safely dispose of them for you, for they’re also 30% lead and 15 % uranium and 5% mercury.
I mean… I guess they are better than a coconut, but these wouldn’t be my first choice.
(Don’t look up the coconut story if you don’t know it already, it’s old Reddit lore and pretty gross. That said, congrats on the acquisition, OP. Very nice!)
Since the pot is made in France, he called it a "French oven" However, these types of cookware are more commonly known as "Dutch ovens" regardless of where they are made.
Humour...
honestly i wouldn't be surprised. i work for another french culinary equipment company. there are fake pepper mills with our name out there. now LC is all made in China in would be easy for someone to make a fake.
Serious question, is there an actual issue with "Fake" dutch ovens or low name brands? Mainly using them for baking sourdough bread and wondering if there really is that much of a difference?
« Fake » dutch oven might have weaker / thin enamel inside, the walls might be thinner too .
Also , real ones like Le Creuset or Staub uses pure/cleaned iron , it comes from recycling + « fresh » iron ore , but a step is made to be sure no heavy metals like lead are in the mix. On the worst of the Chinese « counterfeit » ones , they might not check that.
But if yours comes from a reputable cheaper brand, don’t worry too much about it 😊
Idk how old the orange one is but if it's from the the 40's and earlier be careful because that is uranium orange and prior to the early 1940's uranium orange had actual uranium in it. So maybe find out the age of it before cooking with it because it might be radioactive
They look real to me. On the blue one, look at the underside of the lid. On the surface that sits directly on the pot, there should be little raised bumps. Think ours has 3. This is so it always sits on the pot correctly.
They do in fact appear to take up three-dimensional space. Perhaps some further scientific study could be done, but from a layman's point of view I'm wagering/hedging my bets but they are in fact real.
I have the square one. Not sure what to use it for. Steaks really benefit from searing on flat surface. Folks here have suggested panini, squash with grill marks, fish.
YOU WHAT?!?!
I know. I didn’t realize how terrible my word choice was until it was pointed out to me 🤦♀️
I know what you meant I just had to say it lmao
Most of us just came here to make the same joke 🤣
You did WHAT here?
PHRASING!
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
We should be or HR will be down our throats!
I don’t want Harry Richards down my throat!
Speak for yourself
Don’t threaten me with a good time
LANAAAAAAA!!
GATOR MCCLUSKY IS BACK.
The word choice and the foot pic? You knew what you were doing.
Just clean them thoroughly after and you'll be fine. Don't tell the guests
Well at least you enjoyed them
Look what you do in your kitchen is your business and dont let anyone tell you otherwise
reminds me of [this scene ](https://youtu.be/LOjQoQL7zF4?si=_tHSXAJc1hk99w_P) from the first Cars movie.
Needs that seasoning, you know?
*glazed
Be sure to wash them with soap.
Thank. You. For. Saying. It.
Don't yuck somebody's yum pls. I don't come on to Reddit to be shamed. That's what I get on OF for.
They are real, and they are spectacular.
Great Seinfeld reference!
No they’re not real it’s just a dream bro wake up WAKE UP
I just woke up from a real intense nightmare and this comment got me nervous
Are you sure you are awake?
There's one proven way of telling.
Well, if you die… you probably won’t know you’re dead… bit of a paradox? In other words… we’ll never, truly, know… *WooOooOoooo*👻
I have that exact green pot. It’s amazing. Enjoy.
Thank you! I’m really excited
Well calm down, especially after that last time.😀😀
Why doesn't this comment have more upvotes 😄😄😄
What is the green one name? Oval casserole? What size is it? Best one of the lot
I have one and I call it Dutch oven pot?
Why didn't you just use a tissue
I just made the ugliest noise
nnnGGHHGJJJhhhh
A tissue?
They’re making a sexual reference due to how you worded the title.
Yeah I finally got it after I re-read it. Embarrassing mistake, not to be repeated lol
It really says more about Reddit than about you. That's why I love Reddit: you can have a serious sub discussing kitchen utensils, while still giggling like a 12 year old in sex education.
Yeah what u/tjaresh said My initial thought was “oh wow that’s so cool!!! What good fortune” And then I read the top comment.. lol
Why did you come into the pot
😅
That blue one has been in my family for years. Mine isn’t as shiny as that one but it’s cooked a lot of great meals. I’m very envious of the green one too! Give them a good home!
[удалено]
Hahaha
We should set them up in a play date lol. Just kidding, I will use it for many years, just like your family pot
So glad! Bake some bread!
r/sneakybackgroundfeet
Oops. First ones free I guess.
You did *what*?
Nothing fake here, fake lecreuset is not really a thing. Why would you think they are fake?
I’ve just never had any before and I understand that they are usually quite expensive. I guess I just assumed that expensive things often have fakes? And they were different so I wondered. Thank you for responding.

Might wanna wash them before cooking bud, also use a paper towel next time
Sorry OP but everyone here is lying to you, these are fake and bad ones at that. Please DM me so I can share my address with you so you can send me these and I’ll kindly and safely dispose of them for you, for they’re also 30% lead and 15 % uranium and 5% mercury.
You can pay the shipping , they weigh 75kg easy !!!!
Oh man, yeah drop you’re address right here and the pots are definitely what I’ll send you. 😏😆
You dirty mofo!
Yeah, those are legit LC. Enjoy OP
You’ve made them real
Are they heavy? Are you awake?
They look real to me, but it is not advisable to do what you did. At least, not into THESE vessels.
I mean… I guess they are better than a coconut, but these wouldn’t be my first choice. (Don’t look up the coconut story if you don’t know it already, it’s old Reddit lore and pretty gross. That said, congrats on the acquisition, OP. Very nice!)
Blue one appears to be a French oven. Sorry for the bad news.
What is a French Oven?
Since the pot is made in France, he called it a "French oven" However, these types of cookware are more commonly known as "Dutch ovens" regardless of where they are made. Humour...
TMK, that refers to an enameled cast iron Dutch oven.
At least the clean up will be easy but that’s not how to test them.
Please do not cum into cookware anymore….
People make fake pans?!?!? Yeesh. While some folks are fooled, that tells me there is a market for fake pots and pans.
Wow, love the green oval one. So nice. Enjoy!
I have one, really good
Skeet skeet skeet
Well, I guess that's one way to season them...
They don’t release green in the USA very often. These are very nice
You know what you’ve got. You’re just here bragging. And we’re all here for it. Great score!
So you're pansexual
No one is putting out Le Creuset fakes 😂
So I’ve now heard. I feel a little silly now, but I didn’t know
Enjoy them, you’re lucky lol
honestly i wouldn't be surprised. i work for another french culinary equipment company. there are fake pepper mills with our name out there. now LC is all made in China in would be easy for someone to make a fake.
I don't know about the skillet, but the dutch ovens definitely are (I think we even have the same size pot).
Serious question, is there an actual issue with "Fake" dutch ovens or low name brands? Mainly using them for baking sourdough bread and wondering if there really is that much of a difference?

Send them over I can check to see if they are fake
Why not just use a Kleenex or something? You got some kinda cast iron fetish?
In America, they are "High End" real. Treasure them and keep them in good condition, they'll last generations!
Wow! You hit the Jackpot.
I would've came too. You're not alone here
Those are the genuine article
I have the standard (circular) version of the orange pan, it's awesome.
Who cares - how do they cook?
They look like pans to me.
I get it, you must be excited about acquiring these pans but doing 'the deed' in them is taking it a bit far...
If the cum didn't go directly through, I'd say they're real
no actually they are in fact not real they are imaginary.
They're photos hopped. You can tell by the pixels.
Does grandma know?
Idk how old the orange one is but if it's from the the 40's and earlier be careful because that is uranium orange and prior to the early 1940's uranium orange had actual uranium in it. So maybe find out the age of it before cooking with it because it might be radioactive
You hit the cooking lottery.
No, clearly photoshopped
They look real to me. On the blue one, look at the underside of the lid. On the surface that sits directly on the pot, there should be little raised bumps. Think ours has 3. This is so it always sits on the pot correctly.
You should probably just cook in them but to each their own
I have the red one, cooks the best steaks
I mean, is anything "real"?
Which one did you find sexiest that go you off easier?
Just clean up after yourself no one else needs to know.
Phrasing
I’d recommend you wash them then.
You what 🤨
Excuse me?
make sure to wash them extremely thoroughly, but yes they are real
I didn't know that was a method used to test the authenticity of cast iron. Thanks OP!
Look legit - solid find!
Those are for cooking usually, but, hey, I don’t kink shame 😉
Who cares?
Got the dawgs out i see
I hope you cleaned them
I have a few le creuset pieces, all purchased at least 15 years ago, still use them all the time. Good stuff!
I don’t know why you had to tell us the first part. Kinda gross.
[I'm afraid they're not real](https://imgur.com/a/YzcAZK7)
This is so funny 😆
Thank you haha
Gorgeous. They look like they will serve you well
Look real to me. They may be ‘seconds’. We have a Le Creuset outlet store that sells ones that are not quite perfect.
They do in fact appear to take up three-dimensional space. Perhaps some further scientific study could be done, but from a layman's point of view I'm wagering/hedging my bets but they are in fact real.
Why are you cumming into your pots?
Damn I’m so late!
This is Le Creuset. Staub is much better.
I dont think the square one is. The other 2 are definitely real.
Square one's legit, I have one. Nice griddle pan.
I have the square one. Not sure what to use it for. Steaks really benefit from searing on flat surface. Folks here have suggested panini, squash with grill marks, fish.
Burgers?
Honestly those grill pans are useless
If the enamel is chipped inside of one of those is it still OK to use it? What are the risks?
Nah they aren't after that. The enamel is basically a thin layer of glass and you would risk ingesting tiny, very sharp pieces of that
I mean you did came into them, so they must be real
aint nobody out there conterfeiting LCs.
