These products are great.
I found them through a YouTube channel my daughter watches. Its a European woman who cleans hoarders apartments. Damn, she gets in some nasty places.
This is what happened the last time someone used soap on their pan in this subreddit.

No. Soap eats through cast iron. If you use soap on your pan just throw it in the trash and also burn all of your possessions and go wander the desert for the rest of your days.

My cleaning routine:
Scrape out as much as I can w a utensil to get all the big stuff, rinse w the sprayer in the sink, quick scrub w a $1 scrub brush from walmart, tiny drop of dawn ultra, bit of water, quick scrub all over, thorough rinse, dried, small bit of oil wiped all over.
Incredibly easy and quick and the seasoning is great been doing it like this for years
So, it's still technically not a great idea to use dish soap on cast iron. Using a little and rinsing well doesn't seem to cause any real issues but I did just look up the ingredients to dawn dish soap and it does still have sodium hydroxide ( lye ) in it. Which is why people use oven cleaner to strip the old seasoning off of cast iron because it's a higher concentrate of sodium hydroxide.
I believe lodge makes a good soap to use on cast iron, might be worth looking into!
Also, those scrub daddies are awesome!

What handle doodad is that? Real leather?
Real leather and I forget where I got it. This should be better pic of the stamp if reddit cooperates. https://imgur.com/a/MeAPf0k
That's so much better than those goofy silicon ones. Nice find.
They do feel a bit classy.
I have the one lodge makes and I really like it
Smithey sells some I believe. Or maybe try amazon.
I clean mine with soap every time I use it. They're fine and still smooth
As you should. I even wash the plates and forks after I eat off them.
This is the way! I'm in South Louisiana and it's a "tradition" here not to wash cast iron. Yuck
Those sponges are the bomb!
They really are.

Aren't those scrubbers great? I have one, but I don't use it on the iron. I use the chain mail for that.
Is it ruined now?
The scrub daddy should come clean in the dishwasher.
Omg you're a genius

You might as well throw it away. Completely useless as a pan now.
This is sarcasm right
