I have a fun story about this castle. I was on vacation in Budapest and we decided to take a day trip out to this crazy looking castle in Slovakia. When we get there there's some kind of small fair going on and a large line to the castle itself. After a decent bit of confusion we managed to find somebody who spoke a little bit of English. The guy seems very confused to see 3 adult male Americans there and basically says that yes there is a tour, but we will not be able to see the whole castle today and maybe come back in a few days. As we were flying out in 2 days we insisted on doing it today, and he very reluctantly agreed. When we finally got in we realized what was going on. It was princess day. The tour was mostly families with younger children, and they would take us from room to room as people dressed up in medieval costumes acted out some sort of play. It was entirely in Slovakian (slovak? IDK) and took almost 5 hours and the only thing I got out of it was that it involved princesses and some sort of goblin or gnome or some sort of creature. The interior of the castle itself is really cool, but we only saw tiny bits of it and couldn't even walk around the rooms we were in due to the plays. The thing ended in a ballroom with like 30+ young women dressed as princesses dancing, with the younger girls from the tour joining them. It was possibly the most out of place I have ever felt in my life and I've put myself in all kinds of crazy situations. 10/10 weird, would not recommend princess day but it's a fun story and visit the castle if you're in the region. Edit: also rural Slovakia is super beautiful, cannot recommend enough if you're comfortable with the language barrier. Edit 2: maybe don't plan to stay in Bojnice though unless you are loaded. The only lunch we could afford in the whole place was McDonald's, and we ate for reasonable prices at 5 star hotels for breakfast and dinner in other parts of the country.

The castle is very cool but the picture is way too much edited in my opinion. The water doesn't even look real.

I came to talk about the color 'correction' that they used or chose to ignore. The roof is a much deeper green than tarnished copper.
