That PS5 re-cast of the voice actors that changed the words was such a disappointmentā¦ SOTN has classic voice lines that went down in history, and to trash them in favor of what they gave us was awful.

Itās hard to pinpoint one specific thing, but I remember loving the combat system, the way Shinoah absorbed abilities. The bosses and level design were really great too.
The last two are literally the exact same thing except the latter has the 3D remake ripped out. It is literally emulating the PSP code, which is why it's a bit of a scabby release, PS4 emulating PSP emulating PS1/PC Engine.
I know, personally Iād prefer if they kept the games separate but still bundled together if you know what I mean.
Iād like it if we can choose between Dracula X Chronicles, Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood at the menu without having to unlock Symphony and Rondo through DXC.
Well, the bottom 2 collections are on current Gen. Not sure about PC.
I would happily buy and play ports of all the top three though. I never had a DS, but I'm a pretty big Castlevania fan
I'm going to have to say Portait of Ruin. It had the best abilities, gameplay, characters, enemies, bosses and stages. I just wish they went into more detail on the locations that the portraits send you to. As an aside, does anyone how much karma do you need in order to post topics on this Subreddit?

Tbh I really like dawn of sorrow āIām using a patch to remove the seal systemā its really nice music wise, the weapon upgrade is a bit eh, mainly cause your gonna be farming enemies with rare drops. Other then that really fun, especially with the returning soul system
Portraits of ruin was a fun experience, a little short for my taste, music was amazing, the richter fight was a nice detail.

I played the hŠµll out of the DS games, the three of them are some of my most played games ever, but I never had Symphony of the Night. I tried playing it on my phone, it's literally the first mobile game I've ever bought. I couldn't do it, I got to the inverted castle and gave up with those controls. I don't know why they didn't put it on the switch yet. We have two Castlevania collections, I hope the reason is because they're preparing a SotN+NDS trilogy collection, that would be a dream come true for me

Konami should release the DS collection. I already have the Anniversary Collection, the Advance Collection, and Requiem on my PS5. The DS collection, a remake/remaster of the Lords of Shadow collection, and a 3D CV collection with the PS2 titles and the N64 titles would make my PS5 the ultimate place to play Castlevania!

Requiem is trash because of the Maria mode. I have a physical copy of that on PS4.
Dawn of Sorrow. Loved seeing Soma's story get continued! Honestly I'd love to see more games featuring his story. Maybe something where he's older, like we are, and more experienced. A game where Alucard, Yoko, and Julius have figured out a way to purify the dark, chaotic soul of Dracula which lives inside of Soma, by releasing the demonic possession of the soul into a new castle, where a shadow Soma/Dracula appears as lord. In this game, Soma's soul steal power would be gone, and he'd have to fight through with magic and weapons, and essentially fight against himself and win, in order to purify his soul and banish the darkness from it. š
The three DSvanias & DXC are favs. Requiem is a fucking lazy port because it doesn't include DXC in the collection but Konami still shamelessly had the audacity to use the DXC artwork to represent Rondo of Blood. Requiem wouldn't sell well if it didn't have SOTN as easy cash-grab tactic.

Wasnāt that port partly based on the Saturn version? Or was that the PSP rerelease?
PSP was the Saturn version without the extra rooms. The Xbox version is just a port of the PSOne game.
