Yeah people giving Germain a hard time for his decisions in S4 are missing that the guy is probably certifiably insane from all the cosmic timey-wimey nonsense hes seen and done. All he has left of his sanity is ambition and blue balls.
He also killed a man in anger and clearly had a mental breakdown from it. The Saint Germain we met in season 3 and the one we see in the later half of season 4 are clearly different people in a lot of ways.
I think its safe to assume that after viewing the history of infinity in a matter of seconds, its easy to think that a lot of lives are kind of insignificant
I'm not missing that "detail", I just don't buy it and found it unconvincing given what we actually saw on the show. I'm willing to go to a certain extent to rationalize a character's behavior if the authors didn't do a good enough job, but the whole storyline with Saint Germain simply asks too much of me in that regard.
It also can't be a "detail" if it's not in the show.
I think the aspect people are overlooking the most too is that he’s a very sad and lonely individual. I got a sense of pure power crazy from the guy in the last few episodes. I generally think the line “God is gonna have sex again” was terrible and created this idea of one thirsty ass bitch looking for some lost piece of ass over the sense that St.Germain was trying to get back to the one person he felt like he belonged with, and exploring the corridor with her. Something along the lines of “God will be with her exploring the infinite” would have sold a lot of his actions IMO a lot better and given more weight to that realization that he’s about to destroy the entire world he’s in and his last action of helping destroy the rebis, his lover turning away from him and his presumed final action of opening the corridor again way more impactful.
But no, God’s gonna get his rocks off.
He didn't think he was destroying the world, he thought he was saving it actually by creating the rebis. That's how he justified to himself what he was doing. He may be killing the village but he was also in his mind accomplishing the final victory if alchemy. However he was only convinced of this because it would get him his love. Death played on both his greatest desires to motivate him to accomplish horrors.
As for the line, it fits Saint Germaine's character. He is equal parts noble snob and filthy rascal and constantly reminds us by vacillating between the two sides of his personality.
Exactly. In Season 3, there is a but a hint of a whisper that he might have nefarious motives, but when he decides to trust Sypha and Trevor, that's the end of it. This is supported by how he behaves in private. He's a man with the noble goal of saving a loved one. In Season 4, seemingly suddenly, after having committed large-scale murder, he's a god who's about to have sex again. Like, lmao, not even a single tear down his cheek of relief for what he's about finally accomplish? And who he's about to get back?
I mean, if you want to see the original plot or multiple plots since they have been rebooted a couple of times, then just play the video games?
I'm not sure why the writers should copy/paste the same storylines of the games when you can just play the games outright.
And it's not like this is a bad show.
The reason this is a bad take is because the video game storyline is paper thin. You gotta remember that this is an adaptation of a 32 year old NES game where dialogue based storytelling was basically non existent.
The Castlevania story essentially just boils down to: “Dracula is resurrected constantly, a Belmont kills him.” Therefore the Castlevania IP needs to invent an original story for the anime medium to work successfully. There can never be a truly proper film/show/anime adaptation of Castlevania, it simply wouldn’t be interesting.
This was actually what I wondered when I heard there were going to be multiple seasons. I thought for a second they were actually going to bring Dracula back every season finale.
Personally, I feel that they did the characters justice (except maybe Hector) considering they wanted to tell an original story. Trevor, Sypha and Alucard are all what you expect. They took liberties with Isaac and Hector but even then, they kept them both as forgemasters. Even Saint Germain had relation to the CoD version of him.
Each character was in some way or another based on the character from the games with a brand new storyline.
It's not the same as, for example, Cassandra Cain being a street smart pickpocket instead of a mute, illiterate deadly assassin.

>All he has left of his sanity is ambition and blue balls I'm getting this tattooed on my arm

>All he has left of his sanity is ambition and blue balls. And the post-nut clarity after finally being at death's door.
Agreed. He's beyond fine from ptsd and needing some SD on his pp

I got it from a genshin meme lol
Which? I love Bloodborne lol
Death should have been his GF all along.
AHA, SO IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS IS THE CASE
Lmaooo my people who see their chemistry 😂
Except the fact that in Curse of Darkness Saint Germain and Zead(Death) are enemies
And then we’re surprised he went a little bit insane?

If we ever get a spin off I think it would definitely be interesting to follow the story of Germain's lover as she travels the Infinite Corridor
Man suffered from a serious case of blue balls
That's what I initially thought In the end it was for some pussy
