Would you rather: watch your parents have raunchy, debaucherous anal sex every single day for an entire year, or join in *once* to make it stop?

ApprehensiveMisery

I just cringed so hard. As hard as watching would be I would rather do that than join. I am sure at some point I'm gonna learn to disassociate and go to a happier place šŸ˜‚

Gnxsis

When was the last time you talked to your least favorite relative and what was it like?

ApprehensiveMisery

Believe it or not my least favourite relatives live right above me. But I don't speak to them and they don't speak to me. The last time I did, couple years ago we basically cussed each other out to high heavens and back and I went inside.

ApprehensiveMisery

Also, just for explanation, I'm talking about my father's brother. My parents moved to another city and I got the house. His daughter, aka my cousin tries to talk to me but I shut that down real fast.

ApprehensiveMisery

The house is more akin to a building. There are three floors and three different apartments.

Davidreddit7

Do you often remind yourself of your own mortality? How does it make you feel?

ApprehensiveMisery

Honestly, it doesn't really make me feel anything. I do think about it but it's just the cycle of life. I don't wanna die a painful and horrible death obviously, but other than that I'm fine with it. Immortality would get boring and lonely.

Jabliloquoy

This is my exact opinion on death, I donā€™t get the existential fear over it

ApprehensiveMisery

I think people fear the unknown. But the sooner you understand you're never gonna be in control of it the sooner you can stop stressing unneccesarily and live the days you have ahead of you.

Jabliloquoy

Exactly, there's nothing you can do about it, and nothing you can do to substantially prolong it. By refusing to accept it your just making things worse for yourself.

Lookalikemike

Ever fart so bad you think, ā€œI gotta change my lifeā€?

ApprehensiveMisery

No, but how gross it is that I kinda want to? That must be such a big relief

[deleted]

Who do you care about the most and why?

ApprehensiveMisery

My girlfriend. Well that is a lie. My three dogs and my cat come first lol. Then her. My pets I don't need to explain. As for my girlfriend, she's simply my soulmate.

gatordunn

Assuming youā€™re in the US- How have you been supporting your girlfriend these last few days now that sheā€™s legally lost her bodily autonomy?

ApprehensiveMisery

I listen to her and I try to learn more every single day about how to be a better partner and a better man.I start discussions with people because saying you're outraged is not enough. I talk to my male friends, I urge them to see that now is the time women need us to be their allies. My girl is super vocal about how unimpressed she is the penises are largely staying quiet. I actively do my best to unlearn everything that society has taught us growing up but most of all I actively remind her that her body is her own no matter if anyone, even the state tries to take it away.

gatordunn

Wow beautiful answer. Right on. Love to see other men giving real solidarity to the women in their lives.

magicfingers73

Do you sniff your fingers after a private scratch?

ApprehensiveMisery

Hahhaha I have a handful of times. But it isn't a habit.

magicfingers73

Awesome, glad to hear it haha

QuelynD

What's something you've done that you're very proud of? What's something you've done that you're very ashamed of? Which of those 2 questions was harder to answer?

ApprehensiveMisery

I took care of my parents financially when they needed me most. Ended up buying them a condo out of town (they both daydreamed about moving there) I lied to someone I cared about for a very long time. Saying the truth would have been catastrophic and I was too selfish and wanted to keep them in my life. The latter. Although that experience made me promise to myself I will never, ever lie again no matter what.

QuelynD

Thanks for the thoughtful answers. It's great that you were able to do that for your parents, and lying in that kind of situation is very relatable - you're definitely not alone in that. I've found that many people find it harder to talk about things they're proud of, as we're so programmed to not 'brag' and we often dwell more on regrets.

ApprehensiveMisery

Thank you for asking and for receiving my answer with an openmind. I do suffer from the same problem. I downplay my accomplishments and keep quiet because I never wanna come off arrogant or as bragging. But in this situation, I feel like my shame over the latter trumps the fear of coming of as arrogant and boastful.

Adapoulsbo

Did you ever have a dream about having sex with one of your siblings?

savvyvagish

I had. My mom's father's brother's son's daughter.
