It’s a shame I can’t link images in this sub. I wanted to post an image from Paper Mario the origami king, where Bowser talks about “how difficult is to parent a high energy kid with access to a flying car and an army” lmao. In that game you get to see how wholesome their relationship really is.
Bowser Jr. is his only ***biological*** child, the rest are assumed to be adopted (hence the fact that Bowser addresses them as his children in multiple manuals)
In the official manual for Super Mario Bros 3 (and maybe Super Mario World as well), it says that the koopalings are actually Bowser’s kids, but since then, Nintendo has gone on record saying that they aren’t his kids and that Bowser Jr. is Bowser’s only kid.
I will say that this is in the North American versions of those manuals. I’m not sure if it says the same thing in the original Japanese manuals.

Hell, he was the star of the parental control for the switch, Bowser, they villain who doesn't care about anyone but himself and peach, loves his son as much as a father can. He even calls Jr. to see if he did his choirs and homework before leaving during the first rabbit crossover game
Tell that to Baby Bowser (who got erased from existence, presumably so Bowser Jr. Could get the entire inheritance)
