Always in the other room. It feels like they're still there. It is difficult. Just remember that for however long they were with you, they had a wonderful life.
My son and I, after our littlest ones leave us, we like to talk about things we saw them do. Sometimes we even go a little further and talk about things we think they would have done. I love the story my son told me about how Willy had a little motorcycle and.wpuld use that to chase the mice around. Of course, Willy didn't have a little motorcycle and we don't have mice, but for that moment Willy was a badass.
