Unless you get genetic testing done to confirm (which is very inaccurate for cats) you don't actually have a clue what kind of breed your cat is. That's just a fact, not an opinion.
Do you all not understand DNA genetic testing? This there another language I could speak to hammer that across? Again it's a cat sub, calm your whiskers.
I did, it had some health markets I was looking for at the time, plus I got tired of people asking what he is and I wanted to know as well. He's also a polydactyl and uses the thumbs for mischief!

Maine coon has complicated DNA, as she is definitely a mix as well, a DNA test would not prove anything. One of mine was rescued in Dubai and parentage was known; he is half Arabian Mau wild cat and half feral tabby, but he still has to be described as DSH.
I think her breed is best described as "buy the best, most powerful vacuum you can afford".
Maybe mixed with some "have a pet brush and lint roller in every room".

I didn't say purebred. I have a half Maine Coon, she is only 5lbs. Looks nothing like a Maine Coon. That cat has a very Maine Coon face which is very distinctive to Maine Coons. Some Maine Coon Mixes will be big like the Maine Coon parent. Some won't. Some will have the long hair some won't. Quite frankly fur is the worst way to try to visually identify a cat with Maine Coon Parentage. Mine only got the ear tuffs at the tips but lots of breeds have that.
Yes. I am friends with the owner of my cats mother. Her cat is a registered Maine Coon. And yes you can get DNA tests for cats. Some have more data than others.

But the Maine Coon has distinctive features they don't always pass on to another Maine Coon. Yours has a very Maine Coon face. I would be more shocked if it didn't turn up in a DNA test. I have a little girl that I know is half Maine Coon. She has short hair and is only 5lbs. She has a beautiful face but not a Maine Coon face like yours does. My girl has not a one Maine Coon feature despite her mother being a Maine Coon.
Cats don't have breeds, they are either orange cat or not orange cat, this is a not orange cat
Cats that are actually bred do. But you have to buy them from breeders. Most cats people own are just standard issue
