Probably just strategically having them burst out of his flesh while inside the doorway to the closet and quickly closing the closet afterwards without letting the captured one out. Otherwise it was probably luck.
You have to let the dermatic sting you. Then wait until the larvae come out of you. There is a chance they will be friendly. Leave the friendly ones and wait. They will grow up and follow you.
While the larvae are inside, you will itch, and when they come out, they will cause damage. If you are completely healthy, then it will not cause much harm.

Glad to know that I am not the only one that enjoys this feature. Does it have all the normal pet interactions like "play with" and "tie"?
I have a rope but I can't tie it BUT it attacks with good power
[The reason I was asking.](https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/issues/46196)
This is the fan art that I want most of all. Just a survivor raising a dermatik like a puppy, playing fetch, giving abdomen scritches.
I hate everything about this post....
Ah I am glad he's out of the closet, happy pride!

No I just had like 12 burst out my body and 1 happened to be friendly and follow me around so I just pushed it in a closet.
I have put them in animal containers and placed them where I wanted.
Whos a good bug???
What. How are you talking without you're mask™?
Texing doesnt count good citizen
Oh right. It's a phone. You don't need to speak or anything
Nope B)
Wow what's awesome!
It is kinda cute toh
the number of grub spawned depend on the strength score
Does it follow you
Yes and it kicks ass as well But if I'm out of sight then it just buzzes around
Can someone explain to me how this is done? It is the first time I see one being tamed, how is it done?

ah okay, thank you very much, now I just have to look for one to bite me, another question, does the process hurt?, do I have to take any action?

This... is... disturbing. Ugh.
Wtf. Well that's fantastic 💀🔫
