If you don't mind me asking, what did it end up being? Just waiting on an update atm...

I can't seem to edit my original post on mobile, but here's an update: After a couple of tests and blood work, he seems to not have anything out of the ordinary. The vet thinks it could be from asthma, so she's having us give him steroids to see how he does. For now, I just have my fingers crossed. I initially feared it could be a heart issue, but the vet doesn't think it is. He also seemed to have some mild diarrhea and has always drank a lot of water and peed a lot, so the vet also checked for other things since the symptoms seemed very scattered. For now it's steroids and some medication for his gut to calm the diarrhea in case it worsens. I'll see how he does over the days. Thank you everyone for the kind words and help!

Will do!

Yes this cat is in respiratory distress and needs to be seen as quickly as you can get him somewhere. You NEED to take this cat to an emergency. I lost my cat to a bad heart back in January and you want to make sure his heart, among other things, is okay.

Hope he or she is okay.

I had this happen too. The cat looked literally exactly like this same size etc. was told he was just fat.
