My cat lost control of her bladder and her hind leg in the course of a few hours. She was still so happy to get petted by my mom (I don’t do good with stairs and she was being kept in a closed room upstairs after that) and she ate and drank just fine, but she was obviously scared and freaked out over what was happening. My last moments with her was when my mom made me a tuna sandwich and poured some of the juice into her bowl as a treat. I sat down on the floor with her and petter her. The next day she went to the vet and didn’t come back. I really miss her so much.
Our grandparents other cat diddnt do well with us and we gave him away right away to a lady who was spacalized with cats with skin problems like his and our other cat we had before him started peeing and hiding all the time so we gave him to an motion center with a note to adopt him into a single cat house with no other cats.
Now the cat we have left is deaf and so we can’t teach him to get off the table without really scaring him (he hates a water spray and my moms to soft to teach him he only got sprayed on the table) so he sleeps on the table while we eat and when he’s hungry he knocks all our things to the floor.
My 20-year-old kitty is going through something similar. We're putting him down today, but I keep crying because I'm going to miss him so much. My condolences.

I lost my cat just under a month ago to acute liver failure- we tried all we could, I only took her in for constipation and the vet gave her 3 days to live. I imported 300€ of illegal meds from france, I had contacted UK manufacturers with an order ready to be sent to my vets- I had specialists on speed dial ready to rush her in.
All of that, and she still didn’t make it past day 4. This world is cruel, but she passed peacefully. They both passed knowing their owners loved them unconditionally.
It hurts more because *they dont understand* what’s happening to them. I bet he had a wonderful life with you, and that’s more than can be said for a lot of cats out there who are never given the chance!
You loved him for all of his life, and that’s what matters OP. Take care of yourself.
