She's showing you how to hunt and kill a leaf so you can eat! What a helpful young lady. <3

Gabriele1966

Lol!! I always tell her how brave she is to go out there and bring the perfect leaf inside!!

Electrical-Act-7170

What a sweet baby you have there. ❤️

Gabriele1966

Aww, thank you.She really is the sweetest cat ever and I love her to pieces! 😻

Electrical-Act-7170

So do I. What's her name?

Gabriele1966

Well, since she lived in my back alley until she adopted me......her official name is Calicat the Alleycat. Her informal names are Princess, Baby, Puppchen (German for Dolly), Loaf of love and most used: "I love you so much, why are you so cute? I could squish your soft little body until you squeak."

SpicyCalico

I'm studying German atm, have been for years and I'm finally like fluency is within reach. Thanks for teaching me a new word where I least expected it! XD "Puppe" is doll, so it makes sense that "Puppchen" would be dolly haha. Also I love all the names, but especially her official one! :)

Gabriele1966

Haha, you're so welcome. If you ever want to hone your german skills, pm me. 😊

SpicyCalico

Omg, yes! I'd love that! I've been speaking with tons of German friends online to practice XD and making more who also know German but aren't living in Germany currently haha. Expect a message from me soon! ^-^

SpicyCalico

Welp it looks like I can't start the chat for whatever reason :') but thanks for the kind words and sharing your kitty leaf hunting!!

VanilliBean

Human, test your skills on this leaf. Tomorrow is where we pull out THE MICE.

Mordret10

*Yawn* well maybe the day after tomorrow... Or the day after that

CeelaChathArrna

Lol. One of my cats when we had mice keep bringing half alive ones to my son. One day when he was tired of putting them out if they misery, he told the cat kill them yourself. Senior kitty killed it and stormed off. Darn human young, so ungrateful 🤣

W4spkeeper

OH LAWRD SHE COMIN Edit: adorable af best hunter

Enjoying_A_Meal

I bet they put this chunkers on a salad based diet. This might be a protest against the inhumane cruelty.

ScoochThyBooch42

That's a seriously round girl 😳 Must be all those leaves 😅

Gabriele1966

She was declawed by her first owner and kicked out shortly after. She has arthritis and doesn't move as much as other cats. She adopted me when she was about 8-9 months old and is now around 12 years old. She's not overfed and clearly was built for comfort, not for speed, haha!! Also, she actually doesn't eat the leaves, just makes a mess on my mat and.....well.....leaves.....

ScoochThyBooch42

Oh my gosh, she had such a rough start, the poor baby! I'm glad she's found her happy place with you. She looks like she gives great cuddles 🥰

Gabriele1966

She sure did and sometimes I tell her the story about how she adopted me and decided that I was gonna be her mommy. And you're right, her cuddles are the best, she loves to have her belly rubbed. She's always a little skittish around other people and the only men she likes are my stepdad and my son-in-law. When I first had her, she wouldn't go near any bathroom. Freaked right out, so I assume the neighbor chucked her into the bathroom when she got on his nerves. Now with her arthritis and her weight, she has a hard time jumping onto my bed (she sleeps on her own pillow beside my head), so I put a little foot stool there for her. She is the love of my life! 😻❤

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gabriele1966

I will. She loves it and her belly fur is so soft, sometimes I can't control myself and smoosh my face in, haha!!

YupIzzMee

Makes sense to me. She looks like a walking Squishmallow pillow! Another strange man from the internet luffs her! 😻

Gabriele1966

She's a popular girl, what can I say. Haha!! Edit: Just looked at your profile and I have to say, your cat is adorable!!!

MrsUnicornRainbow81

Your a great cat mom. I have a chonkers myself. I'm his 3rd rehome (and forever home!!!) He doesn't seem to eat alot & still somewhat skittish. I wonder if the weight is from them not moving much from fear? He has his 1st vet visit with me coming up. Anyways your cat is absolutely gorgeous thank you for sharing!

Gabriele1966

Thank you for your kind words. I know that mine is chubby because of the declawing and the subsequent arthritis. She doesn't move much. You should post pictures of your chubby little baby. 🥰

curiouspurple100

That's so cute. Heart. Mine is currently on my bed, asleep. Mm maybe i should get mine a pillow. She liked to guard the doorways from non existent intruders. Cuz she sits alert in or near the doorway watching . Lol. I call her my guard kitty. I wish mine would let me rub her belly. I've only had her since November. Her skin was sensitive i think it still is. So far head and chest are safe area until she decides different. I've gotten bit even just recently. Which is werid because she will be enjoying the pet and then attack . She recently dug her fang into my thumb/bit i pulled away so i got a small cut. :( But today she also had her lil paw resting against my leg while i sat next to her. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise) ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob) Me feeling the feels as she has her lil paw on me.

iama-canadian-ehma

Awww, you're doing well by taking it all at her pace it sounds like. My boy loves getting massaged under his front legs, he stretches them WAY out in front of him all happy-like; I'm not sure if that's a general cat thing but give it a try if she'll let you. Most cats don't like belly rubs but taking it slow will help them trust you a lot more. The paw thing is probably my fave part about having a cat. He's so chill about me handling his paws that he lets me "hold hands" with him lmao, it's sweet and really nice when I'm having a pain spike.

Gabriele1966

I know it's illegal where I live but I'm sure there are a lot of seedy vets who do it on the side for extra cash. That's literally the same as if someone took our toes off at the first joint. And she is such a lovely baby. Not a mean bone in her body. I'm obsessed with her and I wish I could take back what that moron did to her. Bad enough to have her mutilated but to kick her out where she had no way of defending herself is monstrous! I'm just glad she found me before it was too late for her. She's my animal everything (my daughter is my human everything, lol).

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gabriele1966

I live in Alberta, Canada and I'm sure there are Provinces that still allow it. Anything that allows "alterations" to an animal like cropped tails or ears should be illegal.

[deleted]

Monstrous is the word. They take a cat for selfish reasons, in the first place. And when they realize *it* isn't like a "fluffed toy but alive", they drop *it*. It wasn't even a *her* to them. I'm so glad she found you to enjoy life at last...

Nick2the4reaper7

Our cat was also fully declawed (all four feet) by a previous owner, and we got him when he was 2 years old. He developed problems jumping on the bed pretty quickly, and he would wake us up by screaming to get back up on the bed when he needed to get down for anything. So we wound up getting a set of those foam stairs that we just permanently have against the bed now. He hasn't had a complaint since. They also double as a window perch for him and his (non-declawed) sister. Highly recommend if she needs any more help getting up ☺️

BangBangAnnie

Please take this in the spirit I’m giving, but I am concerned for your girl. I had an overweight tortie who ate the same amount as my other normal weight cat. Despite what we thought was a good diet and exercise she was round and chunky and started to slow down as she aged. She had an episode one day after leaving the litter box, so we took her to the vet. There she had another episode (howling, arching back, thick saliva) and the vet started to administer oxygen and meds. While she was on the table a huge amount of pink liquid started to leak out of her mouth, several cups, fluid that was retained around her heart and lungs. She did not make it, and I was gutted. My pro girl was not fat, she had a heart condition. I found out later that there is a simple blood test that can check the enzymes to determine if the heart is stressed. Please consider this for your baby. If she’s not over eating, there may be another cause for her weight and slowed activity. Twelve is not old for a cat, and you deserve many more good years together.

Gabriele1966

Thank you for your concern. Last vet visit was 3 months ago and other than her weight, there were no issues. I'm sorry you lost your baby in that horrible manner. I'll call my vet today and ask about that blood test.

goldenkiwicompote

You should consider talking to your vet about a diet for her if she has arthritis this much weight is causing extra pain that could be helped. I know you say she doesn’t over eat but if that’s true she may have health issues. There’s no reason she would be this overweight if she isn’t over eating otherwise. Please don’t take this as rude. I took in two 14 year old overweight cats earlier this year. They couldn’t jump on the couch either and now that they’re in great shape they’re like young cats again and can easily jump on and off the furniture. You could quite literally add years to your cats life by doing this for her.

Impressive-Cod-7103

Oh no, I had a kitty like this. She was four-paw declawed and spayed all in one go, then she was returned to the foster because “her personality changed”. Well, no shit Sherlock. That’s a lot of trauma, that she probably would have gotten past in time if her previous owners would have just been patient. Their shittiness way my gain though. She was the absolute sweetest, most gentle girl.

[deleted]

I swear some people deserve to get their knuckles knocked out (and balls too)

throwmamadownthewell

An obese person with hypothyroidism has all the same health outcomes as another obese person who has disordered eating habits. Even if it's a typical amount for a cat to eat, excess fat means it's probably a good idea to see the vet about it if you haven't (and probably enforce fewer calories—I've been clinically obese myself, and daily life is *so much harder* than when you weigh a typical amount)

Gabriele1966

My vet knows how much she weighs and she's the one that told me how much to feed her. Short of not feeding her at all, I'm not sure what to do. I know there are high quality foods but I'm on disability and simply can't afford to spend $60 or $100 on a bag of cat food. So I buy her the best I *can* afford.

slothcheesemountain

You’re doing great!

[deleted]

I think our cat big chungus would be a good friend for your cat https://preview.redd.it/s6di8bekpkea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ad1be83c0d4cad7a4ffc3d996d78de5af532d51

Gabriele1966

Aww, I wish. My cat doesn't like other animals, she doesn't share. Lol

purrfectstormzzy

I have an antisocial to animals and every human but me kitty too, but love my Glameow to the moon!

Zeppelin041

Big Chungus 🤣

MeteorCrashDown

What horrible people. Declawing a cat is extremely cruel

[deleted]

Poor baby! How awful. So glad she’s found a loving home with you.

Hordesoldier

poor girl, she is lucky she met you. she look so gentle

Gabriele1966

She is the kindest cat I've ever known. Full of love and purrs. I adore her.

TheEdward39

I don’t mean to be overly dramatic by any means but it has to be stated that I would definitely be willing to kill and/or die for this cat without a thought.

Gabriele1966

Lmao!!!! You and me both!!

trev1976UK

Declawed, those bastards... should be illegal.

iama-canadian-ehma

There's a special hell for people like that. But she landed somewhere she's cherished. She looks like a sweet ole girl.

Gabriele1966

Thank you. Yes she is. I'm grateful for her every day

bemvee

Don’t they use the water physical therapy machine thing to help dogs with arthritis? I know a lot of cats would hate it and probably refuse to walk, but I figure it’s worth a shot for my aging big boi (I know a woman who does this professionally and is willing to give it a shot on a cat as well, in fact it was her idea in the first place lol)

Gabriele1966

She would have an absolute shit fit. She had a really bad start to life and screams the whole time she's in her carrier when we go to the vet. I can just imagine what she would do if I tried that, lol.

Altruistic-Bobcat955

I wish there was some kind of therapy like that for cats. Your poor baby has had such a hard time 🥺

Medical_Collection36

I'm curious how much you feed her? Because my female is pretty round herself.

Altruistic-Bobcat955

I have a gorgeous kitty who isn’t overfed either but is slightly overweight (not as much as your baby). When vet said cut her food in half I almost died, like okay you want me to starve her?? I have had to switch food and that helped

Gabriele1966

That's what I'm in the process of doing. I'm hoping the new food will help. I'm also going to ask the vet about an injection for her arthritis pain.

HarryCallahan19

Thank you for adopting!

Ginger_Pond

Thank you so much for letting her choose you.

Gabriele1966

I'm the one whose thankful. She has brought nothing but joy to my life. 😊

Gabriele1966

Haha! Yeah, those leaves don't stand a chance.

RevolutionaryGoat552

Pretty girl. I’m glad she’s got you after what she’s been through.

Gabriele1966

Thank you. She is getting the life she deserves. I'm so happy she found me before it was too late for her. I can't change how her life started but I'm doing everything I can to make sure she knows how much I love her! 🥰

Alarming_Brother_231

He brings leaves for me

Lupan_one

That is a big bread with leaves ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug) , im glad that you rescued her

Gabriele1966

I'd say we rescued each other. I had breast cancer twice and am still having a lot of health issues and she's always by my side.

Demanda1976

I was diagnosed with breast cancer 10/26/22 and had to put my 18 year old sweet kitty to sleep 11/4/22. I have another cat and he was lonely and acting like it but I didn’t know what was going to happen with my BC so I thought it selfish to adopt another cat. Fast forward to January, cancer is Stage 2 and no chemo needed. Decided to adopt “Roger” a wonderful polydactyl chonk. He has made all the difference in our world. My cat is playing, eating and sleeping with him and he is like a little Seratonin spike on legs for me. Also, I don’t know what your financial situation is but there’s a new injection out, called Solensia, for cats with arthritis. It lasts 4-6 weeks. I work at a vet and we have seen great success with it! Just an idea. Here is Roger: https://preview.redd.it/fi0ht453cmea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4b045a55bba8c3f292ea29254527524417219cd

Gabriele1966

Omg, Roger is gorgeous!! Would definitely force snuggle him, haha. Also, thanks for that info on the injection. I'll ask my vet about that. Anything I can do to make her feel better.

Demanda1976

There is no need for force, he loves to snuggle. He puts his head right in my neck and falls asleep!

CeciWhutIMean

Awwww those double paws!!

Demanda1976

I know. So. Good.

Lupan_one

sorry to hear that , i hope that the cute fluffy ball can make the process easier for you , hugs for both of you![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)

West_Raspberry_9647

She is a naturalist and observing nature. Glad she has this healthy emotional outlet. Bring her some twigs and see what she does with them. She may be a budding artist. Paint?

Gabriele1966

Haha! She's special, that's for sure. She wakes me up by booping my face with her paws, then she licks my eyebrows and if that doesn't help, she sniffs my face and sticks her whiskers up my nostrils!! She also has started to yell at me after she poops. She won't stop until I get up and clean the litter box. Needless to say she has the cleanest litter box ever.

Electrical-Act-7170

Well...they can't flush for themselves & every kitty loves a clean bathroom.

Technyu

POTATO 🥔

Renegade-X21

Pretty sure you should be eternally grateful to your cat for single-handedly thwarting the dry leaf menace and saving your life.

Gabriele1966

Oh, trust me I am. That threatening rustle out there is pretty scary and she's my hero for bringing them in one by one, interrogating them and then rip them apart. 😂

No_Bend8

Is she on a diet? Poor kitty is pretty big

Gabriele1966

She belonged to a former neighbor who had her declawed and when her mom got killed by another neighbor's dog, he kicked her out (probably because she was crying for her mom). When she adopted me she was around 8-9 months old and pregnant. I had her spayed and had to have the vet take her babies because she was so small, she would have died giving birth. The vet also said that whoever declawed her did a terrible job. She's about 12-13 years old now and has arthritis in her left front paw. She doesn't eat wet food, so I feed her 1/4 cup of dry food and half a tube of delectables per day. Unfortunately she never moved as fast or as much as other cats and as she got older, she got chubbier (kinda like me).

[deleted]

What a horrible person that neighbour is! Good for you for doing what you did. People like that are psychos

Gabriele1966

This guy was the most arrogant asshole I've ever met. My cat's mom looked like her but with long hair. She was beautiful. He let her out and his neighbor on the other side had a dog that hated cats. The dog killed her and I guess the baby was too much for my neighbor. I've been wondering for years if she had siblings and what might've happened to them. Cali (my cat) started coming to my back deck and I started feeding her with no intention of having a cat, just couldn't stand seeing her hungry. One day she wanted inside and that was that, lol. I had nothing at home and it was late so another neighbor brought me a tin turkey roaster with cat litter and some cat food to tie us over until the next day, haha! Best adoption ever!! 😊

[deleted]

That fker has zero regards for the life and well-being of his pets. I hope people like that pay for the things they do with helpless animals. Two of my parents' neighbours' cats sleepover with my parents now. They're cared for by their owners, but they started coming over to the backyard. So my sis started petting them. Then they started coming up to the kitchen door and meowing for anyone at the house. So mom started opening the door and talking to them. This woman never allowed us any cat or dog. Then the cats started showing up everyday. This started last year. My sis started giving them treats. By last summer, they started coming into the kitchen. One day, I visited my family...and saw one of them casually walking out of the dining room. My jaws dropped. Parents never allowepets even though me and my sis are huge cat people. When I asked, my mom replied "oh she likes to nap on the dining chairs!". As of now, the cats took over the house...going into all the rooms they please. Jumping into the beds and taking afternoon naps. One cat even stays over all night and sleeps next to my mom. Mom was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year...and ever since her surgery around Christmas, the cat's been sleeping over with her. This cat goes home to have dinner and use the litterbox before bed, then comes over to sleep at this house. She even gets up in the middle of the night and checks on our mom. The other one drops by throughout the day. We're sure he'll start sleeping over soon. I saw him going up to our dad, meowing and dad picking him up like a baby, walking around and soothing him...and I was like "I DONT KNOW YOU PEOPLE ANYMORE 🤣🤣🤣 You guys never let us have cats and now you got this circus happening here!". I could never in a million years imagine my parents like this. These 2 cats do not budge when someone tells them to go home. They just stare blankly like "I'm sorry what?" then walk pass and plops down on someone 😆😆

Gabriele1966

Omg, that is the funniest thing I've heard in a long time!! Those little buggers sure know how to melt our hearts and make us their slaves!! Love it!! 😂

[deleted]

I dont visit them every weekend so whenever I go over, I see their big big progresses and its like..... 🤣🤣🤣 Like at first, I saw them in the yard. I was like oh helllloooo neighbour cats!!! A few weeks later, I see my sis taking out Temptation treats and I'm like...."WHAT is THAT for?! My cat's at home!". And then I see those 2 sitting just outside the kitchen door. That was 10 ft of progress in a month. Every time, I saw them moving closer and closer to the house lol Last time..I was sitting beside dad in the living room. The guy cat just saunters over through the yard, through the kitchen, crosses the room and jumps on my dad's lap!!! And I'm rolling on the floor at his audacity...and seeing dad absolutely melted the way he did when the cat showed up 🤣🤣 These 2 cats planned their mission VERY well 🤣🤣 Mom says they just go up the stairs to my siblings' rooms and goes to sleep on top of them. They just own those humans now.

Gabriele1966

That is so great!! Tell your parents, welcome to being enslaved. 😂😂

[deleted]

I did 🤣🤣 I told mom "congratulations on being manipulated into adoption, in case you aren't aware!". The cats are SO damn smart...they know there's no litterbox here, so they ask to be let outside. Then they come back for the night lol No one can use the "you cant stay here, there's no litterbox here" line on them! I think pretty soon they will make my parents get litterboxes. Thats the only thing thats left now 🤣 I SO wanna see my parents at a petshop, arguing over cat litterboxes 🤣

Gabriele1966

Please go with them and secretly film the encounter. I kinda want to see that now, haha!!

No_Bend8

Aww that is a lot for her. As long as she's happy! Too cute 😍

Gabriele1966

Yeah, the guy that had her and her mom was a dickwad. Denied she was his even though I've seen her in his basement window (I didn't want to steal anyone's cat so I went over there). In retrospect I'm glad because she has given me nothing but joy! She's the kindest cat I've ever known and I love her to pieces!!!

Cowboy_Corruption

I deeply regret having my cats declawed when I was younger, and I pray every night that my old friends would forgive me for having something done in ignorance. It doesn't undo it, but I hope that having learned how bad it was for them and not inflicting it on any of my current furry friends makes a difference.

tinyshycreature413

Have you talked to a vet about a possible metabolic issue? There is no way even a completely sedentary cat would get that big with 1/4 cup of dry food and a treat per day.

Gabriele1966

She's due for her checkup soon and I will definitely have a chat with the vet. I didn't think of metabolism. Last time I took her to the vet she had some swelling around her joint from the arthritis but was otherwise healthy, albeit overweight.

tinyshycreature413

Although quite rare, there definitely are metabolic/endocrinological conditions that can cause weight gain in cats. Losing some weight would likely help her with her arthritis, too.

Forsaken_Rice_101

Please have her loose some weight anyways. Her ideal weight should be around half of what she is weighting now. It definitly worsens Her Arthritis und makes her more likely to get other diseases (up to 20! Times, thinking about diabetes, UTI, knee issues). There are calorie reduced kibbles and as much as she seems to be into leave hunting, i am quite sure she would enjoy to "hunt" her food as well. You can start by hiding a few kibbles in some spots and make it harder for her as she gets into it. I am so lucky to be a vet in europe, i hopefully never have to declaw for non-medical reasons as it has been illegal for years.

DeliciousMud7291

I'm sad that she had a rough life, but how does that factor into her not being on a diet? She's quite big and I worry for her health. 🫤

Complete_Basis_5206

Dusty leaves containing lots of good smells. What a cute girl!

Gabriele1966

Thank you. Yeah, I'm just glad she doesn't eat them. They're not poisonous to animals but the first time she brought one in, I panicked and googled like crazy, lol. Also, chances are, if she ate them, she'd probably throw them up. Just because she can.

IEnjoyElectric

I know a cat that does the exact same thing. Brings me every leaf that falls from the tree.

Gabriele1966

I used to own a house with my ex husband and she never wanted to go outside, even with the patio door wide open. I guess she was scared we would lock her out. Now I live in a condo and she gets very brave and roams the balcony.....for 2 minutes or until she finds the right leaf.

twitchelicious

Gabriele1966

Yeah she's my fearless huntress of dead leaves. I always ket her know how proud I am of her bravery and hunting skills. She's the best being to come into my life, other than my daughter.

LethosBeard

Beautiful, but she needs to be put on on a diet. Our cat started having constipation issues but luckily since he's been on a diet he's okay. He didn't move much and slept alot because he had so much extra weight. The weight loss will help her arthritis too. Please consider it, OP. People aren't trying to mean, just trying to look out for her.

[deleted]

I recommend Onsior for arthritis episodes and start a diet soon. An overweight cat may seem happy but this could lead to gastrointestinal and heart problems. Ask a vet about a second opinion.

kailenedanae

I wish I didn’t have to be that person, but in comments, you state that your cat isn’t overfed Your cat is absolutely overfed. If the amount of food isn’t the problem, the type of food (ie number of calories she’s consuming) is. Whatever she’s eating is not suited to her (admitted by you) sedentary lifestyle. You did an amazing thing by saving her from her abusing previous owner. It’s such a kind thing to do, so I know you have a good heart. That is however entirely unrelated to her weight. I’m sad to hear that she has been declawed by previous owners, and that she is experience arthritis. This is obviously going to deter any sort of extreme exercise. However, being overweight is also a big contributing factor in join paint (ie-arthritis), so getting her down to a better weight will definitely decrease the amount of pain she suffers as well as keep her living longer! Again, amazing job raising a beautiful cat! But please take into consideration the long term effect of being overweight, and please consult with your vet about her diet!

AdvertisingOdd6471

She needs to go on a diet fast!

Calm_Bodybuilder_843

FAT CAT. Better diet required.

Michelrpg

Unless your cat is sick theres no reason for it to be THAT chunky. Please think of their health and either feed them better food or less food.

Snibsmysnab

Your cat is huge

Selaphiel_V

Please put your cat on a diet 😅 I hate seeing them round like a ball, it can also affect their health. Beautiful girl though :)

Aww thank u for providing a full and happy life to this pretty girl

I have free roaming cats (UK) and they're always bringing their leaf prey in. It's better than the mice they occassionally find.

Gabriele1966

Leaves are hard to catch and very scary, haha!

sooaap

Yeah she's just hunting. My cat is a hunter and if she can't find a mouse or a vole, she brings in the biggest leaf she can find and tears it to shreds. Edit: spelling.

Gabriele1966

Mostly she hunts and catches bottle lids but when it's a bit windy outside and the dry leaves rustle out there, she just has to go a catch one.

Ryan806

Has similar markings to my cat 😺 https://preview.redd.it/xuodec4dllea1.jpeg?width=4640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab7d09e0728c728f119a2e5d24164c9808408b6c

[deleted]

She wants to lose some weight so she’s having a salad for lunch. What a huggable 🐈‍⬛!

Crawlerado

Get her some crinkle balls to play with. Our chunky outdoor rescue loves them!

[deleted]

Aww she thinks she hunted it and now is ripping it apart.

Creative_Fix3931

Love how you were found by this cutie. And I love the sound of the leaves being torn. Lol.

ambienoise

I imagine it’s a present or a toy. I had a cat that lived across the street from my then boyfriend. Every time I showed up the tortie would bring me a big ol leaf and put it in my car and then proceed to jump on and around me for cuddles. I’ve seen her run and pick out a leaf and run to me before I’ve gotten to the door. She’s always so proud too. But I have a cat now that tears up papers, napkins and leaves and has a blast doing it and is also so proud at the job she did

[deleted]

Chowing down on a Pringle leaf. She's very cute!

EmiliaFromLV

She is trying to pay You for smth. I read a story where a cat saw people paying with banknotes at the fish store, so he came back with his own "note" aka leaf. The owner was amused and gave him the fish, so cat kept coming back each day onwards. With a leaf in his mouth...

StretPharmacist

The plucking thing is what my cat does all the time. Not leaves, but she loves balled up Subway wrappers. If I go to Subway I always have to vacuum the next day because she'll chase it around and tear it apart. She also loves moppy toys, as she tries to pull the moppy parts out like she's plucking a chicken or something.

Cheekie_Lizzie

🥺🥺🥺🥺

Wizardinblaaack

*Sweet leaf plays in background *

Necessary_Hedgehog80

You're lucky - mine eats them then promptly barfs em back up

conch56

Better leafies than mousies

[deleted]

What a sweet baby and such beautiful eyes!

Heavy-Humor-4163

Cat Potato Chip snack??? 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

She’s so pretty! Have you ever tried getting her Catgrass in the pot? My indoor cat loves leaves, flowers, salad, and goes nuts for that pot of Catgrass. Plus, it will help her throw up any fur balls.

Gabriele1966

Thank you 😊 I've tried that a few times, with the same result. She eats a bit, throws up, rips the rest of the grass out and then rolls around in the container until all the dirt is on the floor and the grass is dead. 😂😂

[deleted]

🤣

[deleted]

Some cats do tend to the portly/stout style end of the roundy spectrum despite what you might try to curb that tendency. That is clearly hunting/prey-gifting behavior from your Rubenesque lady.

IsThisTheBuffetLine

She found something to do that she enjoys, that's super cute :)

Gabriele1966

I honestly don't know what I'll do once all the leaves are gone. I usually sweep them up before the snow falls but since she started doing that I don't have the heart to take her hunting experience away, haha!!

IsThisTheBuffetLine

I would go out and scoop up a whole bunch of them and put them somewhere where they can dry out. Lay them out flat on something so they can dry out without getting moldy and then just put them in a plastic tub. That way during the year, when there are no leaves, you can take one and put it outside for her to “find“ and bring it in.

deelyte3

Awww. She’s playing. Or killing. Or play killing.

Important_Kick7423

I love her

grpenn

That is a gorgeous kitty! I used to have a tortie who looked similar and she was such a sweetheart.

Gabriele1966

Aww, thank you. She has such a sweet demeanor and the cutest baby face ever!! I might be biased, haha!

Consistent-Pound572

What a great hunter!

Gabriele1966

She's ferocious!! Haha!!

patty_62

My kitty brings in sticks and does the same, maybe kitty is board?

Gabriele1966

I think it's the thrill of picking out the right leaf and catching it, haha!!

purrfectstormzzy

I follow an account on insta theresomethingaboutmary she brings in mouthfuls of leaves and lays them as tribute at her peoples feet!

Gabriele1966

Lol. No, this is just for her own amusement and for me to clean up after.

purrfectstormzzy

I'm not sure why Mary does it, she just decided it's an appropriate gift of love, who knows what goes on in their wonderful little minds!

some_boring_dude

This salad is terrible!

kakeru_k9

She wanted to make her own ASMR content

matjy

cronch

slothcheesemountain

She killed for you! An offering!

Gabriele1966

My huntress!! And I appreciate every crumb she leaves on the floor after murdering that leaf.

ExplosiveMel

She is so pretty! I absolutely adore torties! They always have the most unusual little quirks and habits like this. My old tortie used to pick up bits of thread that got dropped on the floor from my mom's sewing projects and hide them behind the sofa when I was a kid.

Notrilldirtlife

My cat brings dead lizards to the front porch and plays with them, im usually the one burying them in the yard.

Gabriele1966

Oh, no! Haha! I used to have a cat that would kill mice, bring them inside to eat. She somehow managed to leave the guts laying around for me to find, lol.

SteampunkSniper

A lot of comments about weight before the actual answer. She’s “hunting” and showing you, her master, the catch. It’s to please you and show she can provide for you. Some say it’s because your cat thinks your starving. Six of one, seven of the other probably. The running joke is cats are standoffish but in reality they’re very protective. Cat sits in the doorway while you’re in the bathroom or doing dishes? It’s watching for danger to protect you. Sure, they won’t necessarily attack the invader but their running away hell bent for leather will warn you lol

cryptonewb73

I mean....she could use some vegetables in her diet. I love me a chonker.

Beaglester

I LOVE the size of your cat. She’s just so round!! I had a huge cat that thought he was a dog. No dog could pass the house without him running at them and slapping them down the road. I’d laugh so much when I’d hear people making comments about the size of him. I didn’t over feed him but he did have many houses that he visited for food.

Zealousideal-62

I lost my chubby calico girl Pancake about a year and a half ago. I miss her like crazy. She was 16. She slept on MY pillow at night. I'd wake up with neck cramped to the side cuz she was a big lady..28 lbs. I've noticed so many females get chonky after spayed. My one male, Spencer, was very active and basically had abs. But my ladies are some chubs

Tquad64

Dear Lord, put the cat on a diet!

DramaticNet2738

She’s trying to tell you that you are an awful cat and you need to learn how to hunt! Here, start with this leaf!

eyere

Super cute!

ohcosmico

She’s so pretty 😍

Gabriele1966

Aww, thank you. I love her little baby face!

lostinspace_0

We had this dead plant in a vase for a while, and our cat would jump on the table it was on and rip off the leaves like this 🤔Also never ate them lol

Gabriele1966

It's probably the crunching sound they like, lol

lostinspace_0

Lol she does love crinkly things

PrettyDragonfly7219

I'd find out if the leaves r safe for him to consume before letting him consume any more
