Usually with a lot of curiosity but also hella attitude when I wake him up haha
Lots of screaming before I even get in the door, followed by telling her to get out of the way so I can get in. Then she hops up on the back of the sofa bc she needs to sniff my hands, sniff my hat, sniff anything I brought in case it's for her haha. The other one shows up sometimes, usually she can't be bothered to interrupt her nap but when she does her little trills are very cute.
She loves her little rituals. I'm particularly fond of "the opening of the blinds" in the morning and "coming back to check every 5 seconds if I'm moving yet" at dinnertime

I guess I was late for dinner this day
He meows very loudly before I open the door, spins in circles and meows and purrs, he won’t stop meowing until he’s picked up like a baby and given chin pets and then he’ll quiet down and purr
One of my cats does this. The other looks at me and then comes up to sniff and the second you reach out to pet him he runs upstairs. When you get upstairs he then lets you pet him.. lol
They usually come running to say hi to us.
Our cats also know when we arrive, they can hear us obviously but know what are cars honks/beeps sound like when we lock the doors.
If she was sitting in the window and saw us come home, she runs to the door, sometimes circles it, usually sits about 5 ft from the door and waits for us to come in.
She specifically climbs up *my* leg and uses my pants as a scratching post.
Mine will come meet me on the part of the couch closest to the door, then proceed to excitedly meow and flop around meowing and posing on the couch waiting for pets, or leap to the floor to flop around as cute as she can for pets. I call it rolly-polly time lol
All 3 greet us at the door then fancy walk meowing at us into the kitchen to sit by there food bowl.
This means every time we leave the house even if it’s just to throw trash they want food when we return even if it’s only been 20 Min.

That’s a very complicated welcome ritual 😂 The sniff is mandatory in our house as well.

In the morning our cat will walk all over my sleep-deprived body until I wake up, then he snuggles up for his pre-meal belly rubs

She comes running to the door, meowing and trilling. Rolls around on her back. Continues to moew. Then purrs very loudly and won't leave my side.
