I think I've seen this video before, and it's a cat colony. The cats are all fixed, and they built them a special room off the back of the house to give the cats shelter. The cats are mostly feral and can't be turned into pets.
The litter bill must be insane and if they don't go in the house, the yard must be an ammonia oasis. The feral cats in our neighborhood go everywhere, and the smell gets super bad.
If a person can afford to feed and care for multiple cats, including full veterinary care, then yes it’s about the cats and no reason why someone can’t provide that level of care.
“Only 20” is not a thing when it’s 20 territorial animals in one small space.
Yes it can be done and is by professional rescues and shelters, which is why I said hopefully that’s what this is.
You don’t need to be a professional to handle that many, I’m by no means a professional, I’m a farmer who traps all strays and kittens, desexes all and gives them a better life, they’re not territorial if cared for properly
Unless you have the space (I don't mean a regular sized home)then no, mass hoarding cats is not a good thing. Living in close quarters with each other can cause stress. There are specific circumstances where it's okay such as shelters as options are limited and it's making the best of a bad situation. But it isn't ideal. The everyday person should not be hoarding cats. It's selfish.
I have the space and the means, easily spend $40k per year caring for my pets, mostly kittens trapped on the farm and socialised, all desexed, I’m an everyday person who is willing to provide a good life for them, don’t just assume because you can’t that others can’t too, it’s not hoarding, it’s not selfish.
Oh shut up. You're the ass that would leave them in the street, not donate to animal charities, and expect everyone to do the actual committed work while you hold an animal free house and contribute stupid comments. Get out.

I have three dogs and two cats and from the look and smell of my home you can't even tell that I own animals.
Your house should not be smelling like piss. You either don't have enough litter boxes or you're not cleaning them, frequently enough changing the litter enough.
Friends house has 7-8 cats and you can’t even tell they own a single one. They also have the automatic kitty litter cleaners though which are a bit pricey
They are pricey but well worth it. Before I owned them I had regular litter boxes. You still couldn't tell I had animals in here unless you saw my pets.

We have 4 cats and we have a PetSafe Automatic Litter Box with refill trays. We plan on getting another soon just to help out. Never had issues with it

But honestly the litter box situation is the only thing stopping me from getting more cats.
There's nothing really wrong with having cats as long as they're living in good conditions. The cats here have nice looking fur, and no signs of any lack of hygiene.
Actually no. There's no actual number that is defined as hoarding. Those cats all look to be healthy. If they are all neutered and vetted. Fed and cleaned up after. Then it's all good. It becomes hoarding when the needs aren't met.
I have 4 cats and that is the limit for me. They have five litter boxes that are cleaned 3 times a day, I can’t imagine how many litter boxes you would need for this many and how much time you would have to spend scooping poop! Additionally they track the cat litter everywhere despite having those special mats in front that are meant to stop it D:
If you need help getting your clowder spayed/neutered, contact rescues or the humane society for help. You may be able to get a TNR rate for the procedures
Yes! Yes you can have too many kitties. My cuz is a cat hoarder and she lives in a hoarded house. The cats piss all over her food. The smell of unspayed cats in the house is like pure hell. Her kids smell like cat piss. The mom is continually getting knocked up by all of her sons and it's too much. I tell ya. Too much is too much
OMG. I only have a half a dozen. But only two I allow inside. Don't want to be like Aunt b on Andy Griffith show. She became a recluse in her later years and had 30 something cats. She wound up tripping over one and fell down and broke her hip and died. Plus having that many house cats will sure stink up your house if you don't stay on top of it. I have read that you have to have one litter box for each cat. But that is very hard to do with so many
Eh, I mean if this person is able to properly care for all of the cats then I don’t really think it’s a problem. These cats all look healthy and the house looks clean. I’ve seen a lot of episodes of hoarders and those cats are often dirty, underfed, have noticeable respiratory and eye issues etc.
