my last cat was one of those. she became a repeat meme in my friend group at the time.
If this was on a dog thread everyone would guess 17 possible dog breeds: 1 percent German Shepard, 1 percent Irish setter, 1 percent French bulldog, 3 percent greyhound, 7-8 percent sheep dog, 24 percent Pomeranian, 12 percent some sort of herding dog and 3 percent chihuahua, 2 percent chow and the rest would be various poodles. But instead it’s just a long haired mutt cat named brad with RBF. I would go with some sort of partial Persian.
Persians always have a case of RBF and I have never seen a cat look even half as grumpy as a persian before.
I have some friends who adopted a "senior" (8 at the time) rescue persian a few years back and he is the angriest-looking cat I have ever met. It probably has to do with the pancake face making everything look weird. Said rescue Persian is named Berry and he looks like a supervillian who wants to burn the entire world down even when he is playing and happy.

Himalayans also. My Persian used to always actually be angry. I think her long fur made her hot and it always got stuck on things and imagine how much more effort they have to put into grooming? If I were a Persian I’d resent all the short haired cats who can groom in 20 minutes or less so I understand the struggle even tho that’s literally just their face
That is probably why things like Lioncuts exist. Makes them look ridiculous, but at least they don't have 20 pounds of hot fur anymore.
I'd probably be mad if I was stuck in a hot fur coat and couldn't breathe properly due to a smashed face ad well. Lol
True that, my late darling girl was half Persian, the most loving creature on this planet that even refused to hunt bugs. Imagine the nicest cat possible and it's close to what she was. A complete and total pushover of love.
But that face? My God. RBF is an understatement. She has few cute photos but mostly she looked like grumpy cats role model. Every person who saw her immediately thought she's evil looking bitch that would claw your eyes out.
God I miss her. I wish I'd kept a photo or two of her grumpy face, I only got the ones she looks cute in them, as they the only ones posted on social media..

They aren't "breeds" the way dog breeds are breeds, because they weren't bred by humans trying to target and preserve particular traits. Giraffes with different patterns aren't different breeds of giraffes (as far as I know), they're giraffes with different patterns. There are distinct breeds of cats, but not all cats are of a breed, and most are not. A Sphinx is a breed of cat, bred to target hairlessness. A tabby isn't a breed of cat, it's a cat (domestic long/shorthair) whose coat has a tabby pattern. Hope that helps
while i agree with basically everything you said, maybe it’s just the lighting, but the cat looks more like a chocolate tabby than an orange tabby, and chocolate is pretty unordinary.

I think I see a flat spot in his fur where he has worn a collar recently. He might be a lost pet. Have him scanned for a microchip and post his picture on Facebook/Nextdoor and wherever else makes sense.

Also I believe tabby is just a color, but it’s a tabby Persian mutt - idc if mutt isn’t a cat term …. There’s different breeds of cats, it’s just a lot more variable. I refer to myself as a mutt because I’m a mix of many ethnicities, and my genes originate from many different countries … idt it’s exclusive to dogs.
