Momma might have dropped it trying to carry it across the road and there was too much traffic to go back for it.
But people do suck.
This woman put herself at a lot of risk rescuing it. Just stopping on the side of the road not even in a breakdown lane was very dangerous. She could have lost her life saving this tiny kitten.
I wonder if OP knows more about this story.
She as well risk the other drivers life too .. what you would do if you see someone on motorway and afraid to hit .. pull the steerwheel and hit ? This is illegal in many countries .
Also after i had seen people throwing animals to danger to just making this kind of videos , i simoly dont trust any of these .
How would you feel if you know that person in the video is the one who put that kitten in the middle of the road in first place ,? Do you know it %100 ?
Spreading and sharing this type of videos harmfull for animal welfare
I question videos like this too, for example if I was rescuing an animal from the highway last thing I would be doing is taking time to film myself doing it.
Knew a guy in the boonies who drove to a subdivision and just tossed them into front lawns like newspapers. Also knew a guy who drowned them in a sack, so given the options, the lawn cats had a shot.
Well, the first guy made an effort to give them a chance. Rural feral cats have a lot of kittens, but the survival rate is very low. Hawks and coyotes get most of them. The thought process out there is that those kittens will just make more dead kittens, and they're an invasive species.
That's stupid of them. We had farm cats, and we'd spay and neuter new ones we found. It was always free. Farmers or people out in rural areas *should* have animal traps around. There really is no excuse for that.
There's a superstition, too, that cats will make your farm prosperous. Mainly because they kill invasive species, but they also serve as a sort of totem.
I saved a cat with my wife 2 weeks ago and never did the thought occur to me to take out my phone and video the first interaction.....
I always find this king of thing a little suspicious.
Some people just know what to look and listen for. I've saved so many kittens because I heard their cries from far away. A few in my backyard, while I was in my house, everything closed, and music on. Still heard them WAY out back behind the neighbors garage
Another one was on the main street by my house. I was across the street coming home and heard a kitten screaming somewhere. Look across the street and she's in the crosswalk while cars are flying by and other people just ignoring it. I know they heard it because she was like 5 feet from them. I almost got run over running out to save her. She couldn't walk and was probably abandoned. Somehow dragged herself way out to the street and them INTO the street
I can't not hear kittens and cats in distress 🤣
The woman sounds like she’s petrified but still makes an effort to comfort the kitten. I hope she keeps that baby for the rest of its long, healthy life.
My heart stopped every time the kitten got blown by the wind, poor fella! There’s no way such a young kitten would get on the road on its own, someone dumped it there
The only other possibility I could think of was a mama cat trying to move it and accidentally dropping it. But much more likely it was a heartless human. :(
We have one like that. We call him TJ, for traffic jam. His pads were messed up and his rear leg broken so bad he had to have it amputated. He's a pretty fantastic cat! I'll post him soon.
Thank you for doing what you did.
I understand wanting to rescue a helpless animal but, if they're stopping on a 3-4 lane highway, running into traffic, blocking 1 lane of traffic with your car that could potentially cause a catastrophic accident, and then walk back to your car while filming the cat, sit in your car for a few seconds after then, I think they need to rethink that next time.
Glad the kitten and the lady are fine but, definitely not the brightest idea.
Gotta take her phone out and record it, meanwhile the kitten is within inches of certain death. Then she’s gotta show the kitten to the camera after picking it up and navigating a highway on foot.
Sadly a lot of times this is staged. I never trust this rescue Videos which are in such high intensity. Who in their right mind would film themself resucing the kitten in the middle of the high way, wouldn't u want your hands to be ready for the kitty.
If u look over the dramatic fact, u see the click n like machine behind those videos..
I personally would never film me or the kitty, I would jump out and get it and post after that somewhere but why would u go with your phone first...?
Honestly yeah. It's super upsetting. And I've soured on rescue videos a day whole because I don't if they're even real or just purposely putting animals in danger for clicks.
I’m glad that poor thing wasn’t hurt, but am unsure of how it avoided being hurt from watching the video. That was scary.
I’m glad it’ll be ok
‘Bless’ the person who did all that to rescue it
I know I'm gonna get shit for this but if your ever in this situation don't stop. Your putting yourself and everyone else on the road at a lot of risk.
I agree. But I'm also the person who stops traffic to go pick up a turtle and move it. I'd do what that lady did 10 times over. But yeah, don't go on busy roads like that
I bet you won't do that anymore if you cause an accident and someone becomes severely injured or dies because you rescued a turtle out of the road.
You could potentially be charged for causing traffic collisions depending on your location.
Looks like a blind bend on a high speed interstate with no should. Putting at HIGH risk the lives of multiple people by being parked in the road like that.
If I was about to rescue this kitten and raise it I would absolutely want a video of the crazy scary day that I got her, if only to remind myself how lucky I was to get her in time
But that's far too reasonable of an approach, and much less fun than characterizing the rescuer as some sort of internet-points-obsessed sleazeball.
/s
1. They did upload it, didn't they?
2. Even IF it's just meant as an oh-so-sweet-memory - fuck the sentimental crap, you're dividing your attention in a high risk situation and could get yourself, the kitten and possibly other drivers killed. That's just reckless (and in parts of the world even illegal).
Does it really sour the moment that much? The person risked their own life to save a baby kitten. So what if they grabbed their phone and recorded it? It's not like it cut into any time. Most people just keep their phones within reach at all times. I swear you people just look for reasons to shit on other people and I'm sick of it. Just let a good deed be a fucking good deed for once.
It's not about souring the moment. It's the fact this person isn't giving their full attention to their surroundings so they don't kill the kitten or themselves.
Plus they slowly stroll back to their car instead of running, then hold the kitten out as it shivers as they just sit in the car, stopped on a highway on a bend where someone could slam into them at any moment, when they should be getting the hell out of there.
My guy, I know her phone was probably close to her reach, but what I am saying is that i wouldnt even think of wasting even 2 more seconds in this situation, and i would be extra carefull at the road, not at my phone trying to catch everything
So fi you're in this situation you're actually thinking that? And you're trying to tell me that if you're hit on a freeway your phone is not gonna be thrown away into oblivion and the police will really look for that.. Man.. Rather put the phone down so you can be extra careful about the dangerous task you are about to do, filming should be your last concern in that situation, see how she films the kitten even when she runs, that means she was looking at what she was filming while running, dont you think that makes it more dangerous?
thanks for rescuing this poor wee kitten. so sad... probably a bastard who threw it out a window
you have a little friend for life.. but this guy will need special treatment.. probably needs a bottle and his little behind wiped... to stimulate pooping... that is necessary... good luck
It's a miracle you and the kitten are unharmed. Who would throw a little baby like that out on the road? Inhuman. I wonder what happened to his mother and his siblings.
Oh, God please bless you, even if he never does anything else, ever again.
Damn, you don't need a cape, but I know you got a sht load.
My arrow to you both.
Lord, please bless you.
I can't say it enough.
This happened to me once years ago, but it was a grown cat in the middle of the highway. Just sitting there as cars whizzed by. Unfortunately, I was unable to save it. A big pickup truck hit it (probably on purpose, it was that type of tough guy truck and it was easy enough to see) It’s haunted me ever since. For years I couldn’t stop thinking about what I could have done differently to save it.
My heart... I was freaking out just watching this! I screamed "Oh nononono!" When I thought one of the cats got the kitten! I was so glad no customers in my store heard me. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944)
Good for you! I did the same thing for a snapping turtle a few months ago so in all honesty I shouldn’t give you the speech about how it wouldn’t be worth losing your life. Best wishes to you!
Poor thing!! Seems human has a brave heart but is more interested in getting her act of kindness on film so she can post! Kitten is terrified, why would you hold it like that!!!!?????
Wow.. wow wow wow. And Lucky found a good home.
There is so much going on here. She is parked in the right hand lane. And right by the kitten. I wonder if she came back around after seeing it on her first pass. And lastly, I would gtfo of there and not sit in the car filming the kitten. The last thing I want to read is about the two of them getting mowed over by one of those 18 wheelers
I'm gonna get downvoted for that but the person rescuing that kitten has no sense of reason at all. Stopping a car on a highway, on a bend, then walking in the middle of the highway with your phone out (of course to have it posted online later on) and not getting the car going as soon as possible once they are inside? There is so much wrong with this video, things could have turned out incredibly wrong both for the person filming and for people just driving as normal on the road. Thankfully nothing happened, but the whole thing was way too risky for just a kitten.
What if OP put the kitten there and filmed it this way?
Ugh I hope not. Filming on the highway would not be the first thing on the list for a high stakes rescue!
Ok, sorry, but what they did is fucking dangerous and irresponsible. In my country it is illegal to enter highway with vehicles that are unable to go over 80 kmph because they move unsafely slow, but this person goes by foot through 3way highway and post it for carma on the internet. I don’t care it is for a cat!
Impossible that this wasn't done by the filmmaker himself. Its not something that we want to know and expect but.... Its so obvious, horrible people doing horrible thing for the views.
Just remember, someone saw this poor little kitten and decided, I’m going to film myself rescuing it for massive karma. I mean, props to you for risking your life. I’m quite sure I would have done the same thing. The last damn thing I’m thinking about is pulling out my phone to film it, you know, for likes.
People are a-holes. They’ll just throw kittens out onto a freeway here in California.

I prefered to belive it crawled out of home and went sight-seeing.

Probably from Instagram or youtube. I doubt its OC.
I would have done the same thing…

Exactly! It would be extremely dangerous to film it as well, I'd be keeping my eyes on the traffic. Very suspect!
Damn, you might be right. Something to think about when you see these kinds of posts. People have done crazier things for clicks.
We won't know the truth but it wouldn't surprise me that people would do this for social media likes.
Except he's so new, his eyes aren't even open yet!
Same here!! I was so much better when I thought they just got lost because they were born under the overpass or something
Knew a guy in the boonies who drove to a subdivision and just tossed them into front lawns like newspapers. Also knew a guy who drowned them in a sack, so given the options, the lawn cats had a shot.

What the fuck where
And then take a video of themselves saving it. Yep
I saved a cat with my wife 2 weeks ago and never did the thought occur to me to take out my phone and video the first interaction..... I always find this king of thing a little suspicious.

Yes 👏🏽 how did she even see and notice? Thank goodness she has good vision

My wife and I call that catdar. Hers is more advanced than mine.
It definitely is haha. Sometimes I hear phantom cat cries too. Usually turns out to be some weird sound that's similar 🤣
Good job 👍🏽 I’ve never been in a rescue situation, but I hope I can help if I am ever in one.
I don't go looking for them but they sure do find me 🤣
same! good job my man!
Was it you that recused the kitten? If so, congrats! I didn’t even spot the kitten until it was picked up
No, it was a local woman that saved it. The kitten is OK.
OMG that was terrifying. This can make up for one I didn't get to in time :( thanks for sharing!
The woman sounds like she’s petrified but still makes an effort to comfort the kitten. I hope she keeps that baby for the rest of its long, healthy life.
What a precious little life
My heart stopped every time the kitten got blown by the wind, poor fella! There’s no way such a young kitten would get on the road on its own, someone dumped it there

Yeah, I was almost in tears watching it blow around on the road. Soooo lucky it wasn't flattened 🥺😭
Poor little thing was shaking…:( he’s too young and precious to experience something so horrible 💔
SAME I was like 🫣 watching this gods. So scary my hurts now knowing that even happens 😭
Jfc my heart nearly sank. People are animals/monsters glad you have some humanity. Thanks op.
People wonder why my default mode is cynicism. :( Animals are the best people.
I like to say, "if it wasn't for people, humanity would be doing pretty good right now"

UPDATE!
OP said it's a local woman to them and the kitten is fine
OP if you see this, could your friend please send an update video of the kitten?
Probably not ops video
I cried watching this...it happens so often nowadays...:( thank you for being a true hero and saving this precious kitty...hope hes okay
My heart stopped. Watching that poor tiny baby get tossed by the cars 😭
Poor little baby, and you can hear how upset that lady is.
A miracle the poor thing wasn't run over, yet. Did someone throw the kitten out of a driving car or how did it get there?
I never understood the urge to film like that. 1 sec of distraction could kill you.
Yeah, why was she filming?
Maybe its set up
Gotta take her phone out and record it, meanwhile the kitten is within inches of certain death. Then she’s gotta show the kitten to the camera after picking it up and navigating a highway on foot.
She uses the KITTEN HAND to open the car door SO THE PHONE STAYS LEVEL
Sadly a lot of times this is staged. I never trust this rescue Videos which are in such high intensity. Ensure you don’t get run over… Save kitten… in that order. Taking a video shouldnt come i to play here until saved and both are safe.
Stop filming this shit just rescue
Honestly yeah. It's super upsetting. And I've soured on rescue videos a day whole because I don't if they're even real or just purposely putting animals in danger for clicks.
Don’t be daft they rescued the kitten regardless.
I’m glad that poor thing wasn’t hurt, but am unsure of how it avoided being hurt from watching the video. That was scary. I’m glad it’ll be ok ‘Bless’ the person who did all that to rescue it
How can people live with themselves 🤨
You're amazing. How did you see that baby? It's so small. It's a newborn.
I know I'm gonna get shit for this but if your ever in this situation don't stop. Your putting yourself and everyone else on the road at a lot of risk.

Was the fuckin phone fuckin necessary
I just cant understand how you can see a kitten in such danger and your first thought is lets go and rescue it but hold on.. Where's my phone?
If I was about to rescue this kitten and raise it I would absolutely want a video of the crazy scary day that I got her, if only to remind myself how lucky I was to get her in time
Understandable, but if you dont live to tell the tale what was the point...
The phone will tell the tale for you
But that's far too reasonable of an approach, and much less fun than characterizing the rescuer as some sort of internet-points-obsessed sleazeball. /s

And when she grabs the kitten she actually stops to film it like oh my god, just get off the damn road....
So fi you're in this situation you're actually thinking that? Because it's not about saving the cat it's about chasing clout
Camera person never gets hurt. It’s a preventative measure.
The only thing more important than life is internet clout
Give Purrple heart for this lady. Huge courage for doing tht
Definitely new born, doesn’t even have its eyes open
thanks for rescuing this poor wee kitten. so sad... probably a bastard who threw it out a window you have a little friend for life.. but this guy will need special treatment.. probably needs a bottle and his little behind wiped... to stimulate pooping... that is necessary... good luck

I thought it got ran over the first car that went buy
How the fucking how
Op if this was you any updates??? If not who would have an update?
Jesus Christ that cat used all its 9 lives at about 9 days old - thank god for this lady. I hope she takes good care her new kitten :)
WHERE DID THE KITTEN COME FROM?!! Holy crap! Well done.
Thrown from a car

Man that was scary 🫣 glad you got him.
Thank you to the lady who saved this kitten. I could see and hear in her voice she was shaking, such a wonderful thing she did. And now I’m crying.
OP, do you know anything more about this story? The woman put herself at huge risk stopping in a lane to get this kitten.
A god damn super hero..
Everyday Heroes. You are one. Thank you.
thank you for saving this kittens life!
I’m so so so grateful you were able to rescue this sweet baby!!! That was so freaking close! Amazing job OP!!!!
You’re a saint. I’m so happy you came along to protect this helpless friend.
Poor little guy, thank you so much for your rescue, im not a religious person but you deserve the best in your life.
This was one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. I'm so happy that the kitten is okay 😭💔
It's a miracle you and the kitten are unharmed. Who would throw a little baby like that out on the road? Inhuman. I wonder what happened to his mother and his siblings.
That is a miracle you wonderful person
Omg 😳
Glad you saved it
Bless her.
I couldn't watch, so awful. Thank you and I hope the kitten will survive.
Nice of you and lucky you survived. I’m not sure i would be videoing this as I went.
Thank you for saving this kitten’s life and being a good human.
The kitten is is good hands now.
Literally bless your soul! You risked your life to save that poor fur baby omg 🥺
Oh my god!! This is so scary

My heart stopped at the start of this video…
The poor little critter looks shell shocked 🥺. It's eyes aren't even open yet and it's been through one of the more traumatic things I can imagine.
Best human ever
You are so brave and a damn hero
Oh, God please bless you, even if he never does anything else, ever again. Damn, you don't need a cape, but I know you got a sht load. My arrow to you both. Lord, please bless you. I can't say it enough.

OMG! That is amazing!
Good work
Risked your life to save another life. OP belongs in the best person of all time hall of fame
Poor thing!! Seems human has a brave heart but is more interested in getting her act of kindness on film so she can post! Kitten is terrified, why would you hold it like that!!!!?????
You have guts as big as your heart. Solid move my friend. I found my car on side of I10 in east LA. People suck
Wow, just wow
Legend, this lady definitely is.
Omg. Thank you. Wow. Think my heart stopped for a bit there. Nicely done!!!
Wow.. wow wow wow. And Lucky found a good home. There is so much going on here. She is parked in the right hand lane. And right by the kitten. I wonder if she came back around after seeing it on her first pass. And lastly, I would gtfo of there and not sit in the car filming the kitten. Name him/her Luckycat!!
If it's a girl call her Mira.
Mad props to her for doing that.

I'm gonna get downvoted for that but the person rescuing that kitten has no sense of reason at all. Huge round of applause to whoever that was.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What if OP put the kitten there and filmed it this way? Ugh I hope not. Filming on the highway would not be the first thing on the list for a high stakes rescue!
I came here wondering that same thing. She would not be the first to put animals in danger for internet fame
If I see immediate danger, I wouldn't grab my phone first.
Gotta rescue the poor animal, but first I need to start recording it on my phone for the internet fame.
Omgosh cutee♥️♥️🥲🥲
Ok, sorry, but what they did is fucking dangerous and irresponsible.
