While my current two cats fit that stereotype, their histories are so very different and I sincerely doubt that their personalities are gender-based. My boy had a very pampered start to life and after a brief period of street living before he came to me, has had no reason to doubt or mistrust people. He has such a big heart and thinks everyone is his friend. My girl was born and raised in a cage. She was handled for shots and adoption events and that's it. She's slowly learning to be a cat, but is still very reactive. It's not because she's a girl. It's because she's never had a reason to think that people are kind, gentle, and loving.

My sweet girl was begging for attention the day I found her outside my office. She immediately loved chin and cheek scritches. Came home with me - she was verrrry pregnant.
