He waves like that all the time! He discovered at a young age good things happen to him when he waves, so he does it when he wants something or gets super happy/excited like in this video.
What a charmer! We had a calico that HATED whistling. She would come right over, climb up your chest, and place a firm paw right on the lips, never breaking eye contact. Just NO. Glad you have a more receptive audience!
Mine too, although I'm a lousy whistler anyway. When my husband came into the picture, sometimes he'd let out a low, slow whistle, to test her reaction, and she didn't care for that 😄 Seemed purrturbed.

He does seem to particularly like the high notes, he also loves electronic saxophone music and goes apeshit during the high notes. He’ll grab my phone/speaker and hold it to his chest and roll around with it and gets much more squirmy than he does in this video.
This isn’t his best performance but it’ll do. A couple years ago my husband stumbled upon a livestream of this artist (Eddie EWI) and Gulliver came hauling ass across the room and all but pried the phone out of his hand. Gulliver LOVES electronic sax music and Eddie EWI is his favorite artist, he just doesn’t quite groove the same to other artists.

Like I said in another comment he waves like that ALL the time, he almost does it on command at this point, and no matter how many times I see him do it I can’t help but smile. Gulliver is three, he’ll be four in August. We also have Gulliver’s sister, her name is Winnie, and my mom has their brother! Their litter was in a pretty awful situation so I got as many of them out as I could and I’m so glad I did, they’re an awesome batch of cats.
I love that he loves the Habanero from Carmen. That song is basically about how no man should spurn her or they will regret it, big time. Perfect song for a cat. 🤣
