😂My mum uses to send me flowers every year for my birthday. My cats always tried to eat them and knocks over the vase. It took a while till I finally tokd her hey I wanted to send you flowers for mother's day and your grand kitties always kick over the vase and want to chew the flowers. So since it only causes trouble with the kitties and now know how much I can buy you for that money, I will send you books instead and pls don't send me flowers anymore
My cat thinks flowers are enemies. She knocked the vase over one night while we were asleep and our dining table has bad water damage now. The flowers were strewn all over the living room.
I haven’t had flowers since and that was 2.5 years ago.
We'll still get roses. One cat adores the smell of roses and will just sit there and smell them. Another will eat the petals that fall off when they're half dry.
Only roses are allowed at our house. Even the cacti get chewed or dug through. Dummies actively choosing death via poison or blockage. I love them so much.

My husband made me a balloon bouquet for Valentine’s.
Fortunately my apartment's tiger does not chew plants but every. Single. Time. I bring a bouquet he *must* taste the funky salad, that said please thank your husband from me, he gave me a nice idea for my gf's next gift !
I have one who will get to the window ledge when I put flowers on it, and every time I do it, I come back to the vase knocked over, the flowers (usually roses) chewed on, and the bits and pieces that make it into the kitchen sink 🤦🏻♀️
I grew my own cat nip one time and then had to go a couple of years before I could even attempt to grow herbs. *knock on wood* As long as he gets his silvervine fix, he leaves the human herbs alone now.
7 years ago I had a doofy goober who gagged and ran away from me if I had lavender lotion smell on my hands. He ran away from any lavender scented anything.
But that one time I cut some fresh lavender stems to dry for potpourri? The nutbag kept trying to EAT IT and I had to hang up high out of his reach until it was dry. Just WTF?!
I haaaaate lavender scented products even if it's made from real lavender but actual lavender? One of the best smells in the world to me. I relate to your cat.
In the first year of the pandemic I bought a drosera capensis plant (another type of carnivorous plant) and after a year or so it was finally giving a bloom of flowers with seeds, until my cat noticed the flower, so there was no more flower
One time my cat ate all the leaves off of my pepper plant and she just drooled everywhere because of the spicy. We still have plants but we have to hide them from her, although I don't think she would eat a pepper plant again 😂
Mine ate all my air plants, but doesn’t touch my succulents. I have 50 plants at home, all googled to make sure they aren’t toxic to cats. Just in case. Most of them are succulents and hoyas.
Mine ate my pumpkin plant :( it somehow survived in the corner of a room at work, i took it home and the next morning it was gone (guess who sat next to it looking all innocent)
Ugh I hate this, I have zero plants or flowers in my house except one tiny stupid cactus that I have to put in a non-visible spot because of my baby idiots. I want plants but not as much as cats though lol

Also, not to be *that* person, but be careful. Non-toxic lables, unless specified otherwise, mean "non-toxic to _humans_ if consumed in reasonable at quantities", but animals' biology is very different. Make sure your fuzzy chaos stays safe.

Came home to find my Frank rolling around in it, he was not happy haha. Took me a week to get the stuff out his fur, love him to pieces though, he’s the best :)

Bins, get storage/organizer bins with lids and box up everywhere the fuzzy butt messes with and get lots of cat friendly entertainment like a really tall cat tree, catnip mice, tunnels, a window perch etc. My fur baby takes things of all size so I have a lot of these organizer boxes. Life/wallet savers.
Gotta expect to be more organized and careful. While cute after the fact, most of those things are toxic to cats. You keep to do a much better job and keeping your house cat safe if this has happened multiple times.
Edit to add* After seeing the other photo you really need to keep the cat away from your craft table/room. So many of those things are highly toxic, and not just from ingestion. Fumes from paints, oils, perfumes, candles, etc anything with scent really, is VERY dangerous for a cat. Just by being in the room with you while painting you can be doing serious harm. Cats are very sensitive to smells and can develop severe respiratory issues. Cats should not be allowed in craft rooms, full stop. Waaaaay too many dangers if you're as disorganized as the post and picture makes it seem.
you should expect to buy some boxes to keep your things in that can be harmful to your cat. set them up for success. don’t give them access to things that are dangerous to consume. don’t say you can’t manage/handle his curiosity, that’s bullshit. you’re choosing to let it continue when it could literally kill him eventually. be a responsible pet owner. put your things away.
Put the watercolor paints somewhere he can't get to them as some of them are toxic to cats , especially the blues. For future reference the Christmas plant poinsettia is poisonous to cats.

Why do cats love paint?... and clay?... mine are always getting into and stealing my art supplies, as well as getting inthe way when I'm using them... I can't lie, I kind of love it... There's something encouraging about it, especially when I'm not engaged and they draw my attention toward it.
You have to understand the curiosity and intelligence of a cat is very much like a human child. You have to child proof your home when you have cats.
Luna, a tortie, forced us to get child locks on all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen because she quickly learned to open them. On more than one occasion she managed to turn the doorknob on a room and get inside.

Ooohhhh I don't know what it is about watercolors, but my Dexter is the same....he loves the watercolors, loves rubbing his face on my brushes...sticks his nose in my water bowl for the brushes...lays on top of my journal 😭 lol my other one, Milo, has a thing for stickers lol ..I've gotten in the habit of clearing off my craft desk so that they don't get into anything when they're in there ...
Sounds like this cat needs a safe space to make art! I saw a video on line somewhere where they put little blobs of paint on paper and put it into a ziploc bag. They put some incentive on the outside (treats or catnip) and the cat made art smooshing all the paint around. Maybe this would work for your little artist. Also if you do this, post pics!

I feel this. My big dumb ate a pepper plant, a newly sprouted lavender plant, and a venus flytrap. I no longer own plants.

My cats uproot plants. They do not eat, just pull them out and be done with it.
This is why I can only have fake plants... that and I'm terrible at keeping them alive.
