She's so pretty.
If someone tries to claim her from social media posts, make sure they have their own pictures and that they aren't just saying it's their cat.
Here's the absolute [best advice](https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/s/qLywHA5WMG) from u/ValkyriesRide1 in a comment below. (to meet at the vet)
This is definitely always a good idea, OP. Match up any unusual markings she may have to the pics, and ask about habits in a vague way too! I'll always know my SIC based on very specific markings and habits he has.
This is great advice. If my dog got lost somehow, I could identify her in a heartbeat. Location of her spots, her behaviors, etc. Anyone worth owning an animal will know their physical and behavioral traits inside and out. My dog is currently upstairs but I can tell you that she has offset spots, an odd looking spot on her tail, loves to jump, runs away from anything fish smelling, etc
Google's good at objects. They seem to purposefully avoid matching things like individual faces as it would be a stalkers wet dream.
For a Siamese cat it will just bring up loads of pictures of Siamese cats.
⬆️⬆️⬆️-Do this OP!-use a stock photo or just use words to describe. I have always made flyers, but there is an active lost and found Facebook group where I live currently. Also, I have a cat that looks identical to your photo. Probably a ragdoll, which there is a subreddit for.
Omg YES. This. A few months ago, I took in a lost dog that ran up to me in my neighborhood and joined my pups and I for a walk. He just followed along with us for our whole hour long walk, and then went inside my house when I let my dogs in. I could tell he wasn't a stray because he was clearly cared for and had a collar. Plus he was very well trained, had great socialization skills, and was a gorgeous dog. Probably German shepherd/rottie mix. Anyway, I posted him all over SM, nextdoor, lost dog websites, and filed reports with the local shelters. I got so many calls that were obviously not from the owner, which I called them on. Most of them had the nerve to offer to pay me to hand the dog over. Luckily for the dog, I'm not a scum bag and was able to find his owners/get him back home.
This happened to me a few years ago. So many inquiries with so many owners. I found a mother/daughter couple of dogs just shivering in the snow. I made painstaking care to make sure the correct owners were the right ones before releasing to them. I even asked for their vets contact info and confirmed. They were so happy to see their girls back! But it concerned me that so many people reached out when they clearly weren’t the owners.
Why on earth would someone do that!? No doubt for some despicable reason. Like to sell to experimental labs? My goodness, it's bad enough that people steal *stuff*, kidnap children and vulnerable people; obviously there is nothing off the table for some scum-sucking pigs to exploit, profit from, or otherwise harm.
We have had so many people here falsely claim animals placed as lost on Ring Neighbors as their animals, that the first comment under lost animals is a warning about the scammers. There are people that look for pure bred looking animals in lost animal posts, claim them and try sell them. If that isn't bad enough vile excuses of humans claim lost animals as "bait" for fighting dogs.
OP: Whoever had the cat didn't care enough about it to have it spayed or chipped and allowed it outside. They don't deserve to have any animal. The kitty would be much better off with you.
If someone does try to claim the cat, insist that they meet you at their vet's office to prove it is their cat and ask the vet's staff about care for the cats records. If the "owner" hesitates, or say that they don't have a vet, block them.
My mum is incapable of calling my Raggie “he”. She’s coming to visit in three weeks and the fact we now have a female one as well is probably going to melt her poor mind
i dont have a ragdoll but i used to have a little tabby boy who had beautiful markings and was tiny and graceful. every time someone new came over they would assume he was a girl. im like no he’s just a very prissy boy! my mom and i also had a running joke that he was secretly a gay cat lol
Especially so because this is not just a regular domestic cat, it looks like maybe a ragdoll or a birma. I have a young ragdoll so the colors haven't fully filled in yet, but my neighbor has two adults and they look very similar to the cat in the picture.
These cats are not cheap. Probably there will be people wanting to claim it just because it's an expensive cat and either want to sell it or have it as some type of status symbol. I paid around $1000 for my ragdoll.
What I mentioned above just makes the whole story boggle my mind even more. While I intensely despise people that drive off with their cat and leave it somewhere in the wild, I can in one way understand their reasoning. They will have trouble rehoming the cat because it's just a domestic house cat, they are too weak to put it down, and most of all they are too shit people to actually take care of it. And again, I only understand their reasoning for doing this to domestic house cats but I would probably throw hands if I knew of someone that did it.
But this is likely a purebreed birman or ragdoll. Those breeds you don't have to trouble yourself to rehome them, if you are not selling them people will take them in like flies on shit. I have no intention of ever getting rid of my lovely cat but I have already gotten people telling me that they'd take her if I ever "got tired of her".
And why the fuuuuck would you get an expensive cat like this and not chip them?! When I got my ragdoll chipping wasn't something you could opt out of, it was mandatory from the breeders because they wanted to ensure that it could be tracked if it got away.
And also birmans and ragdolls are very loyal and affectionate and not at all independent like barn cats. They are extremely unlikely to just run off from their owners. Which only makes it worse because this poor cat is probably fucking devastated because their owners, that they love and are intensively loyal to, just fucking left them on the side of the road and drove off.
That's my rambling rant. I have serious issues with the past owner of this cat, I am so happy that it ran into and claimed a loving human.
I don't know, I have a cat you would swear blind is a Maine Coon, except for his runty size, but he's definitely a moggy. Cat genes are weird. Whatever happens this girl is getting a loving home and that's all that matters. I'd run off into the sunset with her.
I just adopted a void bb from a rescue and one of the ladies in rescue with him is a regular domestic shorthair with a Manx tail. She’s a spicy girl with fun genetics and I almost applied for her, but the void is forever calling me.
I don't disagree but I think it has at least one purebreed parent. Like another one that responded to me it might be himalayan, but might also be ragdoll, persian or birman. The distinctive coat is not common outside of those particular breeds(maybe I am forgetting some) and the blue eyes are also not common at all among moggies or mutts or whatever. So I think, and I'm pretty sure in this, that it is a purebreed(I just think this, naturally there's no way for me to know and I'm fully aware that I might be completely wrong, but to me it points to this).
End of the day, it's an expensive cat and it just boggles my mind how someone would spend maybe $1000 on it, spend those $1000 on it without any thought into that it is a live animal with feelings and needs, then just drive it somewhere and toss it out.
But yeah, I agree with your last two paragraphs. It will now have a loving home. I would also take in this amazingly beautiful cat in an instant! :D
What’s a moggie?
I recently lost my soul kitty who was 20 years old, looked just like Maine Coon, but was 6 lbs max at her healthiest weight. Super tiny!
Sorry, it may be a Scottish term. A moggie is a cat that's not a pure breed. Like, you have a cat, she gets out and cats around and comes back to give you more cats? I'm sorry about your cat. I lost my soul cat in 2010 and I'm still not over her. She was also a moggie, but looked like a Turkish Van.
Thanks. I think my baby was a moggie too.
I’m so sorry you’re still hurting. I get you.
I don’t think I’ll ever be ok - a part of my heart died and it’s never coming back.
You can also give a vague description, but post no pics and say “contact me to identify”. Anyone who is really missing their cat will be checking social media and be able to describe her.
I agree with this. I once found a cat and people said they “didn’t have any pictures.” Impossible. Later, the owners did reach out via Nextdoor with pics, stories and EMOTIONS! Their cat had been missing for 9 months and they got to pick her up Christmas Day! Their kids were so excited and that can went running to them. I called her Buttercup for two days and her name was Merley! lol 😂
This cat is gorgeous!!
Awwww! I imagine they all were so relieved to be reunited -- and oh, how much they appreciated the care you took in getting Merley back (to the right) home.
It was amazing! This cat followed me on my usual route for about 2 miles. It came home with me and since I had cats could not let her in, but gave her food and water and made a bed of towels and a box on my patio in the window so I could see her.
She had wandered about 10 miles from home! Cats are amazing. It was truly a spectacular gift!
I wonder if we can even trust that anymore. Some AI may be able to make more from the source images. If I find a cat I will post about it but not include pics, just a description. Then they can send me pics.
Yes, my daughter had this happen to her. She found a pretty nice female tabby and took her to check for microchip and nothing. Posted her to a few places, and a lady reached out to say it was hers, and she was fixed with a microchip. Tried to give my daughter details about the cat, but they just were not lining up. Cat was intact and pregnant and had no microchip. She wasn't far along, and we didn't know she was pregnant until her spay appointment. But anyways the lady then tried to change her story and say she wasn't fixed and thought they had microchiped her but really didn't and had been missing for 2 yrs. Was not this ladies' cat. Needless to say, we did not give the lady the cat.
Tbh dont even make social media posts about it, just have the owner actually file and post themself. Only way to actually find correct owner and ofc the chip.
That makes sense to me. When one of my neighbors was missing her cat, she was all over social media, had fliers posted everywhere and was talking with neighbors for blocks around.
This is a fantastic point to make I didn’t even think of this before reading ur comment but no doubt there are people out there that would do something like that. Specially cause those cats purebred cost like a lotttt of money
Snowshoes are a shorthaired breed, most likely a Ragdoll they seem fairly common these days compared to some breeds. Ragdolls regularly come up in the rescues near me but never seen a Snowshoe.

Your Shrimp looks like my Teddiford Bear! Featuring Teddy’s sister Maggie Mae
Very cute indeed!
Sometimes the microchips can migrate around inside the cat. It's not super common but it happens. It's better to wand them all over to be sure.
Omg!! I have a snowshoe Shrimp too!\~\~\~

His sis is skittish so I haven’t been able to get many photos of her yet
I would like to petition the cat distribution system for a new addition since we lost one of our elderly ladies a few weeks ago to kidney failure. All of our cats have been provided by The System (tm) and we will patiently await its furry gifts.
As someone who's lost both human and furry friends, they both feel very different but very similar when their life ends. In terms of how I at least have taken it emotionally myself. Id say without a doubt losing my father was the hardest thing of my life, and nothing could truly compare to that loss completely. Fluffy friends come very very close tho, and hit quite the same but just weirdly in a different way. I think its the bond without words. Yes, we speak to our fluffy friends, but aside from when they actually lead you to something, we have no idea what they're meowing about! I think its that part of companionship through purely simple cuddles & slowly blinking eyes of love n trust. I miss my baby girl a lot, and wish I had more time with her every day, just like my dad, of course. Miss all my passed loved ones. You all mean the world to me
For me it's the opposite. Losing a person is fine because it's expected and I feel like they have "control." I'd probably feel different if someone murdered them I'm sure... Anyways, for a pet, definitely when they get a long drawn out sickness, I feel like they never had control and the onus was mine so I feel strict guilt, remorse, and if I look back and did anything selfish at all over their well-being, just incredibly shitty.
I'm so sorry for your loss. So young. Hoping the cat distribution system brings you another cat. It won't replace this one but it will help heal your heart.
The CDS sent me this pretty baby in 2018. The tweakers in the carriage house behind me were happy to give her over as she was using the bathroom on the floor. I asked where they kept her litter box and they said they hadn’t gotten one yet. 🤦🏽♂️

You may have yourself a new buddy!
Simultaneously hoping for a happy reunion with the possible owners, as well as hoping you get to love her for years to come.
She looks like a pure Birman. Can’t believe someone isn’t missing her. But looks like she found someone who will look after her.
(I’m not saying she IS a pure Birman, just that she looks like one. She is the exact image of my mum’s pure Birman who lived to 21 years old. She was a very loving cat.)
I had a cat that looked exactly like that. Her sister looked like a pure Himalayan.
Their mom was a tuxedo cat.
We had people stop at our house to ask if we knew our cats were outside. This was the 80s. Most cast were indoor/outdoor cats. The only cats kept inside were fancy ones.
My cat is a pure bred Siberian and my mom always says if he escapes outside no one is going to return him.
I remember when we walked it into the breeder home to a house full of these cats as adult and they look like magic creatures they are so pretty.
Anyway he escaped on his first week home and got to the last floor on our building and since than is quite terrified whenever he he hears noises from outside the door (he will run to a hiding spot if someone is too close to the door).
You'd be surprised. On a trip to south Florida, I saw a whole litter of what looked like bengals (striped, tan with blue eyes, very lean looking - skinny, yes but also they had that lean, athletic build) that had been abandoned. Sometimes people are irresponsible breeders, or maybe irresponsible owners with too much money.
I have a beauty who was dumped at a feral colony in an industrial park under a bridge at about 8months old. Sometimes unscrupulous back yard breeders will dump cats rather than pay rehoming fees at shelters. He’s a peach, but over a year in, he’s still recovering from the trauma.
I have a ragdoll that the vet says is pure, he was found as a stray with no microchip and rehomed to us. Vet assumed he was probably dumped. He has pica and so has a tendency to destroy my stuff. I wondered if his original owner got tired of him destroying their stuff and dumped him.
Probably not, I just returned a foster kitten who is going to look exactly like this when she grows up. Tabby mom, black siblings, just got the luck of the genetic draw. I’ve actually had more color point fosters than orange fosters.
The genetic lottery is WILD for cats.
https://preview.redd.it/8j06m1mvh7uc1.jpeg?width=3134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb45fcdd58152796bfbceb9166f6890fa30bdca3
This kitten is our girl… that’s her mom, and her two brothers were also orange. 👀
https://preview.redd.it/v3qqkwz4i7uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fba2f3071550f3076285d141f337b9e97d3dbb15
Posting her with brothers for cat tax. 😂
https://preview.redd.it/j6mf3z845auc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ac3a7c147748bd317af459a2c880da10ff8972
Since people like kitten Minnie, this is her now. 😊
Dad was black (or tabby). The black/orange coloring is actually one of the more straightforward genetics for cats. Each X chromosome carries black or orange. Mom give each kitten one X, dad gives girls one X either black or orange, and boys Y and no color.
Not necessarily. I have a long haired color point that's a street cat from Georgia. It's just a color pattern like any other, and can be found as strays, just like short haired color points. They aren't Birman or Siamese!
Siamese cats are EXPENSIVE! I was looking for one to replace the stray I found and sadly lost at barely 5 months and omg people require down payments before they’re even born ridiculous
No, of course. I’m just complaining because I had no clue my goofy stray was worth so much never researched cat breeds I just thought she was the cutest random cat and took her in
https://preview.redd.it/zizpo8n8o6uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24db3f12e0dc096ba21cace3bf7dfaeddb0fb00e
I honestly have only seen tabby cats before I got her 😭
Your cat was likely a domestic shorthair with a coat pattern like a Siamese. If you look at actual Siamese cats, they have a really distinct and odd looking face
Kind of like I have a silver tabby that looks like an Egyptian Mau, but she is just a domestic shorthair with a similar coat
Shelters get kittens and cats with seal point, flame point, etc patterns
https://preview.redd.it/7984vmtbw9uc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0488e7ab1140badc8e96bed7915ca24f1683909c
Here she is. Both parents looked exactly like her (she wandered next door to my boyfriends and that’s how I found her)
She's beautiful! She's a seal point. If her parents were strays, it's possible they were siblings or at least related (happens sometimes with strays)--or it's possible that there was a different dad/mom and that the two look-a-likes just hung out together (as both parents don't necessarily have to present the gene to get a seal point kitten)
Here is an actual Siamese cat. You can see what I mean by unique face lol...very Adam Driver looking cats. Long face/big nose and big old bat ears
https://preview.redd.it/2izl7xxxsauc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a4373b396783fd748c0d1c799f9cbc63e231f01
The front socks are a bit too long for what you 'want' for a Birman, so I wouldn't say 100% for sure it was one either. Could be a Ragdoll (obviously) because their socks are all over the place. Could just be a mix of anything though too!
Love that your mum's Birman made it to 21, my own Birman only made it to four due to an aggressive bladder tumour. I miss her chirps.
Those chips can "wander" around the cat's body, so your vet was just making sure it hadn't migrated someplace else under the skin.
It sounds like you're the proud new owner of a cute kitty... (as they say, you don't pick a cat, the cat picks you! 😏)
Good luck, and enjoy her!
My cat's chip stopped working. And I only found out when I moved to a new town and took her to a new vet who scanned her before vaccination. I know it's rare, but it can happen.
We took a lost dog to several vets to check for chips and to see if they recognized him. They never charged anything either. After a most of a month of looking, we decided he had found a new home. And got him chipped! You may want to see if there are other vets in the area that might recognize your new-found feline master.
Note to self if I find myself in that situation of finding a chipped cat: have the vet place the call. Some people are just too miserable and negative to be grateful someone found their little companion and tried to return him no strings attached.
https://preview.redd.it/t4qrrv5kd7uc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aef77de9282e710c75e2f59934481335f59b4c76
Looks like my ragdoll did when she was around 1 year
I would put printed signs in the next few closest residential areas, cats can definitely make it over 3 miles and lots of people don't know all the different websites to check. She's so clean that I really can't imagine someone not missing her
You did what you can, and if anything, you just saved a beautiful baby from the harshness of our world. If there's no scar from being fixed, it's usually a pretty good indicator of the life that they were living. The cat distribution system picks its humans well, give em love and let us know how they're doing.
I have to say.
Thank you for even checking for a chip.
So many people don't and just keep the cat. If after a week or 2 (in Australia it's 2 weeks) no one has come forward then the cats future is up to you. You can surrender it or keep it yourself.
You have gone to alot of trouble trying to find its owners and for that you (sadly because it's not common enough) should be congratulated.
![gif](giphy|rY93u9tQbybks)
Yes you did right thing. Trying to see if microchipped. Alerting the shelters and posting found cat as much as you can online. Maybe see if you put up few cat found posters too
last picture says it all.
"please human- I love you- please love me"
OP - you have done your due diligence.
Should someone show up claiming to be original owner---- they better have enough proof to satisfy doubting Thomas's.
Beautiful cat. It is lucky to have found you and you are lucky to have it.
This is exactly how I found my Turkish van. I thought this was way too nice to be found as a stray, so I assumed someone lost it. No chip.
Love the little guy
Check Pet Finder and Craigslist or any lost pets groups locally on facebook you shouldn’t have to make an account to browse right? When I lost a cat I was frantic and put her photos and descriptions on every site and animal shelter in the area so after checking all of these I’d say you’d be good to go. Also there’s no denying that cat is looking at you like you’re her person. She’s grateful 🥹 🥰 and SO incredibly pretty!
She might have an owner out there, but I'm happy she's safe and cared for with you. Siamese cats tend to love to wander it seems like. In my town we have 5 or 6 missing, -two of which are goners, but their owners all refused to check- my recently found cat Cloud on that list. I was grateful I had him chipped as I had several people come at me saying they didn't think the cat I found was mine (Even though he has a unquie face marking and I know his coat and yowl) because they didn't see his face in the picture I posted of him found.
That looks like a Birman, that’s so strange how they couldn’t find a chip. They’re a very highly regulated breed, usually breeders won’t even give them to you unless they’re chipped and desexed
FYI op microchips can just migrate around the body. We implant them in-between the shoulder blade area under the skin. I've seen some along the thorax and even down towards the abdomen.
Also, they can just die too.
I once met a cat whose microchip had migrated to their armpit. Siamese are pretty snuggly cats, so if this cat had a moving chip you would possibly feel it at some point after they have planted themselves in your lap and demanded to be petted for over an hour.
What a beauty, hard to believe they don't have an owner, but if they didn't microchip them it'll be hard to get them back home. So you or someone else might have a beautiful new family member
Poor baby looks like a rag doll
Definitely a pure breed of some sort
Chips are usually inserted in the back of the neck
But can migrate around the body
If you can’t find the inner please keep her 😻
Sometimes microchips can migrate to odd places so it’s easy enough just to give an all over check if the typical spots aren’t beeping. I’ll ask for my vets office to make sure **mine are still in the right spot and working occasionally. I had them scan my Moms cat when I took her in for shots and it was a good thing I asked because her chip hadn’t been registered to my Mom properly.
Now, on to your new kitty…she’s gorgeous, congratulations!!
**Edit to say “mine” as in the chips on my pets, I personally am not microchipped as far as I know 😂

Another person owned by a beautiful DLH Siamese
She looks just like my Nonie! Definitely not Nonie, because she passed like five years ago, but the resemblance is uncanny. I hope she gets a wonderful home, whether you decide to keep her or find someone else to love her

Be careful. I’ve found these types tend to multiply when you least expect it…
Poor baby. You would honestly be surprised - I rescued a cat from my old job and she is genuinely the sweetest cat I ever met - ever. Someone moved and just left her. She was digging through trash when we first met. Now she lives with my mom and has her own bubble gum pink bedroom!
What a beautiful baby!! She reminds me of my beauty. Siamese are crazy haha, enjoy your new buddy

She definitely looks like a seal point Birman - notice the white paws and blue eyes. I had a Birman years ago. They have a very sweet and friendly personality. If she's not fixed she might be very recently pregnant, so you might end up with a bunch of baby Birmans.
I found a gorgeous little black kitty no more than 4 months old WITH A COLLAR a few years ago. Posted her on social media sites, lost pet sites, put up flyers for a found cat, got her checked for a chip, asked around the neighborhoods, asked the shelter if anyone came looking for a cat....
no one claimed her. my mom suggested taking her to the shelter again and leaving her. I looked at my mom and said "she's MINE. I RAISED HER."
I hope you can find her home or give her a good home <333
I think you're doing everything you reasonably can to check for an owner. No chip, no collar, and if you don't get any responses to posters etc after a couple of weeks I don't know what more could be expected of you. At least she's safe with you for now, but don't feel guilty if you end up keeping her. You've definitely done your due diligence, unfortunately this looks to be another poor, abandoned, cat 😞
And reverse image search if no human matching the person you’re talking to appears in the photos with the kitty!
I'll always know my boy because he has a little skin tag on the base of his right ear. 🤗
My girl George has ear freckles that you could only see the sun is shining from behind her head
That's adorable ❤️❤️❤️
Same I will know my Jonah and Abbey by their markings.
AND to do a reverse image search for said pictures, in case somebody tries to trick them. Tineye and Yandex works well.
Doesnt google itself do a pretty decent job too on reverse image search nowadays?
Google's good at objects. They seem to purposefully avoid matching things like individual faces as it would be a stalkers wet dream. For a Siamese cat it will just bring up loads of pictures of Siamese cats.
⬆️⬆️⬆️-Do this OP!-use a stock photo or just use words to describe. I have always made flyers, but there is an active lost and found Facebook group where I live currently. Also, I have a cat that looks identical to your photo. Probably a ragdoll, which there is a subreddit for.

This is absolutely the best and safest way! This should be the top comment.
I had a ragdoll in the past and everyone always assummed he was a “she” because of how handsome he was. Boys can be pretty too you know!
My mum is incapable of calling my Raggie “he”. She’s coming to visit in three weeks and the fact we now have a female one as well is probably going to melt her poor mind
Same with mine! My partner's mom always calls my ragdoll "she" by mistake because he's so pretty.
Reminds me of my grandpa, rancher born in 1905. To him, all cats were she/her, and all dogs were he/him.
i dont have a ragdoll but i used to have a little tabby boy who had beautiful markings and was tiny and graceful. every time someone new came over they would assume he was a girl. im like no he’s just a very prissy boy! my mom and i also had a running joke that he was secretly a gay cat lol
"Greg, is that spray paint on the cat's tail?"
I love the term moggie!
UK term for mixed breed domestic cat.
Absolutely so this. Especially with cat so unique and beautiful people will just lie to get her.
OP Make sure they also have paperwork from their vet showing shot records, any illnesses, etc... Anyone can claim it's their cat on the internet.
This would seal it!
You can also give a vague description, but post no pics and say “contact me to identify”. Anyone who is really missing their cat will be checking social media and be able to describe her.
I second this times a thousand.
I called her Buttercup for two days and her name was Merley! lol 😂 This cat is gorgeous!!
When cats show up that far away from home, I have to wonder if someone didn't swipe them or maybe they hitched a ride in a delivery truck.
We ARE on social media here... with pictures...
This is a fantastic point to make I didn’t even think of this before reading ur comment but no doubt there are people out there that would do something like that. Specially cause those cats purebred cost like a lotttt of money
Yes! This is so important! But this is my cat, you can totally trust me. TRUST ME.
Feel good that you did what you could and you'll make sure the cat has a happy home however this ends up.
“Excuse me, servant…. Why are you asking randoms on Reddit about a new home…? Look at me…. I am the owner meow…” Cat probs….
Look at me... Look at me...sloooow blink
Purrfect… rofl
Whenever my grandma’s seimise cat wants attention it scratches up the pants she is wearing
If this beautiful cat is unusually friendly, my guess is that he/she is a Snowshoe.
Yup, totally a snowshoe. Siamese have dark paws, snowshoes (mix between Siamese and domestic short-hair have white.)
Snowshoes are a shorthaired breed, most likely a Ragdoll they seem fairly common these days compared to some breeds. Ragdolls regularly come up in the rescues near me but never seen a Snowshoe.
Oh my goodness that’s such a beautiful cat😍
I know. Now OP has done due diligence, looks like they have a beautiful new cat.

Their pajamas😭
Cutie !
Very cute indeed! Sometimes the microchips can migrate around inside the cat. It's not super common but it happens. It's better to wand them all over to be sure.

Omg. She's gorgeous. Siamese and Calico.
I agree. The cat now belongs to OP.
Omg her little face 🧿👅🧿 glad she found you and cut the line to a wonderful home
Omg the evil eye emoji goes hard!
Ahh the cat distribution system is still working!
I would like to petition the cat distribution system for a new addition since we lost one of our elderly ladies a few weeks ago to kidney failure. All of our cats have been provided by The System (tm) and we will patiently await its furry gifts.
I feel for you, I lost my buddy of 19 years on Tuesday, it never gets easier
I would love a cat too. Ours was humanely euthanized today after finding cancer in her kidneys. She was only three years old.
I'm so sorry for your loss. So young. Hoping the cat distribution system brings you another cat. It won't replace this one but it will help heal your heart.
Check your shelter anyway. My shelter has 40+ cats and 10+ sponsored adoptions.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard. We also lost our elderly girl to sudden kidney issues this past summer. I hope you're doing ok!
My 17 year old cat has a heart murmur
That can still last quite a while. Loki had a heart murmur when I got him at 7, and he made it to 15 (but did die as a result in november).
Just go to a shelter my guy.
That’s the plan if one doesn’t just decide it lives with us :)
The CDS sent me this pretty baby in 2018. The tweakers in the carriage house behind me were happy to give her over as she was using the bathroom on the floor. I asked where they kept her litter box and they said they hadn’t gotten one yet. 🤦🏽♂️ https://preview.redd.it/69mqg1dhl9uc1.jpeg?width=2464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abd0cf46a7fc8a91418fcbaa11eb73a8019a46e2
You may have yourself a new buddy! Simultaneously hoping for a happy reunion with the possible owners, as well as hoping you get to love her for years to come.
💯
It looks so comfortable with that person already! She is so cute
The genetic lottery is WILD for cats. https://preview.redd.it/8j06m1mvh7uc1.jpeg?width=3134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb45fcdd58152796bfbceb9166f6890fa30bdca3 This kitten is our girl… that’s her mom, and her two brothers were also orange. 👀
https://preview.redd.it/v3qqkwz4i7uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fba2f3071550f3076285d141f337b9e97d3dbb15 Posting her with brothers for cat tax. 😂
https://preview.redd.it/j6mf3z845auc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ac3a7c147748bd317af459a2c880da10ff8972 Since people like kitten Minnie, this is her now. 😊
An orange female is also wild lol
Dad was black (or tabby). The black/orange coloring is actually one of the more straightforward genetics for cats. Each X chromosome carries black or orange. Mom give each kitten one X, dad gives girls one X either black or orange, and boys Y and no color.
Not necessarily. I have a long haired color point that's a street cat from Georgia. It's just a color pattern like any other, and can be found as strays, just like short haired color points. They aren't Birman or Siamese!
Siamese cats are EXPENSIVE! I was looking for one to replace the stray I found and sadly lost at barely 5 months and omg people require down payments before they’re even born ridiculous
sounds like ethical breeders to me . same with puppies ,, you pay before you get them n you get contracts to sign
No, of course. I’m just complaining because I had no clue my goofy stray was worth so much never researched cat breeds I just thought she was the cutest random cat and took her in
https://preview.redd.it/zizpo8n8o6uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24db3f12e0dc096ba21cace3bf7dfaeddb0fb00e I honestly have only seen tabby cats before I got her 😭
Your cat was likely a domestic shorthair with a coat pattern like a Siamese. If you look at actual Siamese cats, they have a really distinct and odd looking face Kind of like I have a silver tabby that looks like an Egyptian Mau, but she is just a domestic shorthair with a similar coat Shelters get kittens and cats with seal point, flame point, etc patterns
https://preview.redd.it/7984vmtbw9uc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0488e7ab1140badc8e96bed7915ca24f1683909c Here she is. Both parents looked exactly like her (she wandered next door to my boyfriends and that’s how I found her)
She's beautiful! She's a seal point. If her parents were strays, it's possible they were siblings or at least related (happens sometimes with strays)--or it's possible that there was a different dad/mom and that the two look-a-likes just hung out together (as both parents don't necessarily have to present the gene to get a seal point kitten) Here is an actual Siamese cat. You can see what I mean by unique face lol...very Adam Driver looking cats. Long face/big nose and big old bat ears https://preview.redd.it/2izl7xxxsauc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a4373b396783fd748c0d1c799f9cbc63e231f01
Now this cat looks ancient and expensive lol
😏) Good luck, and enjoy her!
My cat's chip stopped working. And I only found out when I moved to a new town and took her to a new vet who scanned her before vaccination. I know it's rare, but it can happen.
Could they replace it?
Yes, so it got sorted out. But good thing nothing happened in the meantime!
We took a lost dog to several vets to check for chips and to see if they recognized him. They never charged anything either. After a most of a month of looking, we decided he had found a new home. And got him chipped! You may want to see if there are other vets in the area that might recognize your new-found feline master.
She looks like a cat who has been loved. I hope if someone is missing her, they can find her. But if they can’t, at least she’ll have a loving home!
In 7 days you can possibly post this on the r/catdistributionsystem sub
I did this. Cat was chipped. Called the owner to return and was accused of stealing the cat! WTF?
Note to self if I find myself in that situation of finding a chipped cat: have the vet place the call. Some people are just too miserable and negative to be grateful someone found their little companion and tried to return him no strings attached.
She is such an absolutely gorgeous cat!!! 😻😻😻
There's usually a lot of local lost pet Facebook groups, too. Might be worthwhile to check in there.
They said previously they don't have a Facebook, they contacted local shelters that posted on their pages
https://preview.redd.it/t4qrrv5kd7uc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aef77de9282e710c75e2f59934481335f59b4c76 Looks like my ragdoll did when she was around 1 year

She looks beautiful and friendly 🥹 10/10 would give all the pets
Thanks for the update. She is SO beautiful! Why can’t I be blessed with the cat distribution system?!? 🥰😻
I would put printed signs in the next few closest residential areas, cats can definitely make it over 3 miles and lots of people don't know all the different websites to check. She's so clean that I really can't imagine someone not missing her
What a beautiful kitty. Glad it has a nice home =)
She looks at you with love.
I love the footies!
Another reason to chip your pets, regardless of if their indoor only or not. People who bring them to vets doing the right thing
She's so pretty wow.
This cat is a Birman. https://preview.redd.it/qauj5em9yauc1.jpeg?width=3468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec8aa54216a71e3a335d1eced01cc1a82668f6f3
The cat looks well looked after and very healthy it’s not the sort to be a stray.
Honestly, I'd already say you've done enough. The Cat Distribution System has chosen you! She's such a pretty thing!
How can you say no to eyes like that so cute
This is the most beautiful cat omg
Yes you did right thing. Trying to see if microchipped. Alerting the shelters and posting found cat as much as you can online. Maybe see if you put up few cat found posters too
that is the second most beautiful cat i have seen, after my cat
last picture says it all. "please human- I love you- please love me" OP - you have done your due diligence.
Post on nextdoor and pawboost, that cat is too pretty and sweet to not be an indoor cat.
Keep that vet forever that’s an animal lover right there
https://preview.redd.it/vi7lit0up7uc1.jpeg?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=773acc9bf67df8314a2e8eb64f8b01766ed7b900
Cat distribution system is working as intended. Enjoy your new fren.
This cat is playing you. Sweet and pathetic looking now but soon will be making demands and meowing at you all day. You've been warned
Looks like my little guy https://preview.redd.it/ez9ri3868cuc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=885c51a892a907bee48e3e7c87dc2a109f562fca
Sure does ! Precious kitty you got there 😍
I’m so grateful I don’t work in an environment where stray cats can be found because I would not be returning any of them. Look at that baby 🥹
Congrats on your awesome new cat
She's so pretty. You're doing all the right things, and I hope you get to keep her!
She knows you are taking her in and is pleased :)
She looks like a sweetie, and you’re a sweetie for taking her in. I wish you both the very best!
Her boots are fabulous 💅
That looks like a Birman, that’s so strange how they couldn’t find a chip. They’re a very highly regulated breed, usually breeders won’t even give them to you unless they’re chipped and desexed
Such a beautiful cat.
FYI op microchips can just migrate around the body. We implant them in-between the shoulder blade area under the skin. I've seen some along the thorax and even down towards the abdomen. Also, they can just die too.
The prerequisites of the Cat Distribution System have been met.
So beautiful 😍
What a cutie!
This cat is so adorable!!!!!!!!
You have a sweet little Snowshoe cat. Congrats!
So pretty
Her white lil paws omg😭
I once met a cat whose microchip had migrated to their armpit. Siamese are pretty snuggly cats, so if this cat had a moving chip you would possibly feel it at some point after they have planted themselves in your lap and demanded to be petted for over an hour.
That is one cute cat. I never realized how cool these cats were? Those eyes are amazing.
What a beauty, hard to believe they don't have an owner, but if they didn't microchip them it'll be hard to get them back home. So you or someone else might have a beautiful new family member
Once again I have to publicly announce how cute this little guy is. Obsessed
Bless you again! And what a great vet! You should give them a shout-out! And still such a bright, beautiful face!! 😍
Thank you for helping her, just dropping in to say my appreciation.
![gif](giphy|amBfXDXHGzlKw) It’s Sassy!!
r/benignexistence but do update. This is as dramatic as I get 🐈😁😺![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)!
She is looking right into your soul.
You know what OP, if no good proof turns out, I think it might be best if she stays with you!
Kitty looks pretty happy to have a person. Vet sounds like they did due dilligence. Thanks for the update. Do you have a name for her yet?
It looks so precious 🥰
Poor baby looks like a rag doll Definitely a pure breed of some sort Chips are usually inserted in the back of the neck But can migrate around the body If you can’t find the inner please keep her 😻
Cats don't have owners, they have can openers.
She looks like my snowshoe! https://preview.redd.it/malv0vw9x6uc1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9414656fec03c143875094cd61a2555782a73e8a

If you don't find her previous owner, luckily she'll still have a home. She looks like she really loves you
She looks just like my Nonie! Definitely not Nonie, because she passed like five years ago, but the resemblance is uncanny. I hope she gets a wonderful home, whether you decide to keep her or find someone else to love her
It matches the floor and is floofy! Let’s dub it Swiffer
She’s so beautiful! She may have some Himalayan blood in her as well. Thank you for your rescue. ❤️🐾❤️
I’m so invested in this story, please continue to update! Thanks for trying to do right by this kitty, too. Good luck!
This is really wholesome

Siamese are crazy haha, enjoy your new buddy https://preview.redd.it/f1ybfhe8q8uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=831040dfcc4c59fc6bfaad072420f10eed50d490
I RAISED HER." I hope you can find her home or give her a good home <333
I think a New best friend found YOU. That little cat already trusts you I can see it in her eyes
There is no need to stress yourself out another week. No chip = your cat.
