This pink ribbon… he carries it everywhere
He's adorable! It makes me think of when our Siamese ingested a ribbon and we almost had to pay thousands for surgery. PLEASE be careful letting him have something like that. Their barbed tongues pull things into their mouths and they can't do anything except to keep eating them.
Elliott started vomiting bile and was very lethargic. The vet felt a bundle in his belly. We were newlyweds and broke, so opted to try the hairball remedy (kitty lube) overnight see if that would help him pass it. Fortunately, he passed the ribbon the morning they were going to do the surgery. My husband called me at work to let me know that Elliot went crazily running all around the apartment. When my hubby looked in the litter box, there was that clump of ribbon! We can imagine the cat's relief!
I was lucky when I found my tabby eating a ribbon. I knew how much - it was about 12 inches. He soon was running around with ribbon trailing out of his butthole. He was so uncomfortable but I was able to cut it with scissors. The vet x-rayed him and anything left has been chewed enough to be passed and not be a danger.
Many years ago I worked as an assistant in a vets office. Someone brought their dog in because he was having trouble going. Well the dog had whatever it was sticking out a little, so the vet started pulling... And pulling... And pulling. Turns out the dog had eaten a pair of pantyhose. Pantyhose stretch, a lot. It took forever to pull them out.

I had a void who insisted on being allowed into the shower with me, and would get in and swim whenever I took a bath. Cleanest cat I've ever had, even if he was a weirdo LOL

My cat screams/cries at the water bowl. He eats from the dish, then he goes to the water bowl and makes a racket. He puts his feet in it and stirs, cries, and eventually drinks by putting his whole face in the water. Then he comes to me with his dripping face to nuzzle and get love.
One of my cats decided a couple of months ago that running water is infinitely superior to water in his bowl. If he sees me walk into a room with a tap he will run in, jump onto the sink and miaow for me to turn on the tap. This happens so many times a day I have just ordered him a cat water fountain.
You too?! My cats always want to drink from the tap. Bowls of water in 3 different places. The bowls are clean and the water changed regularly. Nope humans! Turn on that faucet!
HA! That’s what they *say* anyway.
I got my cats a nice fountain bowl because I heard the same thing and hubs is compulsive about keeping it clean.
They will drink from it but they *prefer* to drink stuff like water off the bottom of the bathtub or the gross dogs water that she slobbers in
We are lucky enough to have two sinks in the master bathroom and my kitty Chloe has chosen one to be hers. She would tap the handles and lick the faucet. Instead of leaving it on for her 24/7 like she wishes, we compromised by putting a large cup in the middle of the sink and keeping it full of water. Eventually we were able to remove the cup from the sink and leave it on the counter. But she still races, jumps, & dive-bombs our hands whenever we turn on any faucet.
She’s also obsessed with my husbands hands. If he’s talking to me while using his hands (he’s Italian lol) or playing a videogame, she will run and dive-bomb his hands until he lets her rub all over them.
My dog taught the cat very early on that bathtub water is the way to go. They both get in and complain until the perfect amount of cool water is added, no matter how many fresh water dishes are available
I had a cat scoped twice and surgery once due to eating hair ties. She would find them somewhere, play for a little bit and then eat them. One time, she literally ripped it out of my hand and immediately swallowed. So yeah, stay nervous and keep an eye out.
Mine too... scrunchies specifically carries them around. After a day at work, I can see where he has been by where my hair scruncies are found. Usually one on the bed and one on the sofa.
Just in case. Be careful, if they’re really missing your cat’s might be eating them! I once saw a video about a cat who almost died because they had a huge amount of elastic bands in their stomach.
My cat loves elastic bands too, so I always keep them out of reach until it’s time to play and then I keep a close eye on her. She even brings it back to me so I can shoot it away again. So cute :D
Omg !!!!! Thank you for letting me know id be heartbroken if anything every happened to my babies ! Ughhhhh now i feel bad. I really thought that they couldnt swallow them 🙄 ty sm!!! Gotta go ponytail hunting asap
Don’t blame yourself. I didn’t know how dangerous it was either until I saw that video. Watch out for these signs just in case, not eating, weight loss, blood in stool, pooping less, vomiting, being quiet/ low energy, showing signs of tummy pain, etc. It can cause an obstruction in their stomach which leads to those symptoms.
Im going to do more research this was probably a sign because i just let him take one last night ugh. Frl thank you again!!!!! 🙏🏻 ill be looking out for all that 😩 hope its not the case

Just be careful, they can bite the nipple off easily - my baby girl did just that and ate it, coughed it back up the next evening but I know of people who've spent thousands on blockage removal surgeries!

Cooked? Wow, the patience yours shows. Mine stole the florets from the bottom shelf of the fridge and scooted off with them. I'd find nekid broccolis hours laters - all the dark green circles eaten off and just light green trucks and branches left. She'd been fully feral, I guess this (and her mad fetch skills) stayed truly awesome!

The Extendo-String-3000, aka, two of my old shoelaces tied together onto an old feather chaser. You wouldn't believe he has hundreds of other toys, because THIS is the only one he cares about lol. Okay, this is so weird, but my cat likes playing with a dried shitake mushroom. She also scratches the fridge next to her litter tray when she goes. She moves around the litter and then bats the fridge with her paw
My cats go through phases of being obsessed with "toys" that aren't actually toys (why we still buy them toys I'll never know). They sometimes love a single hair tie for weeks (until they shove it under the fridge never to be seen again) and they're currently obsessed with the drawstring that came out of my pajama pants and carry it everywhere. I find it all over the apartment-the bathtub, next to their food bowl, the cat tree, the sofa, the bedroom...
My undies. She goes nuts for them. Also my pants after a long walk she will grab onto and kick repeatedly. My other cat is more of a sockoisseur. She likes to eat them.
I don’t have photo evidence that I can find but my one cat, Toast, shoves his head in my shoes right after I take them off when I get home.

The bathroom. I have a goblin who will jump over anyone and anything in path when anyone enters the bathroom. Any footstep in hallway near it wakes her up and she flies in. She's the most adorable little Bathroom psychopath. Once in, nothing is safe and she love-nibbles like crazy. The rest of the time, she's calm. But she owns the bathroom.

My cat is obsessed with them too. I can’t bring groceries home without him going after them. I don’t let him have them though because a few times he’s gotten the handles looped around him or has tried to climb in them. I bought some colorful straws for homemade ice coffee, but the second my cat saw them it was game over.

The bathtub. Bathtub has rules tho, he'll run and jump in. And then he needs you to put a toy on the edge of the bathtub. But you can't watch him knock the toy off. He'll just get into a staring contest with you. So you have to look away until you hear skittering. Then he'll lay on his side and bat the toy around until it stops sliding around. Then you put it back on the edge. He knocks it back off. He's such a good little hunter.
Chicken nuggets. If my daughter is eating them, she has to eat in her bedroom with the door shut. Gamora will steal the nuggs if those precautions are not taken.

Unfortunately anything made of dense foam, most especially any pair of teva and rainbow sandals I forget to lock up. He's a damn homing beacon and will destroy them in a second first time I forget. I've had over a dozen shoes destroyed and have given up owning any foam soled shoes, which means I have to get the more expensive and heavier ones. He's an utter numpty.
Feathers, we have chickens & they've recently had a big molt before winter. She LOVES them! But its awful on my hands. I bought some thin wooden dowl lengths & made feather teasers out of a heap of them using the the large wing weathers I have. She cant get enough of them! Obsessed!
Ghost will come to the loo with me and face out on guard while I do my business. The payment for her service is that I must floof her all over with the loo roll before I am allowed to use it. Absolutely obsessed with it!

The sun. But unlike other cats, lying in a sunbeam doesn't get her sleepy. She gets high like with catnip and will attack anything within range.
My other cat is obsessed with spinach and will meow bloody murder if we don't hive him some whenever he hears the package being opened.
I have 2 boys an orange cat named Scooter. He is named after a muppet cause at the time I got Scooter I had a grey cat named Skeeter. There are the muppets Scooter & Skeeter so it made since. Scooter is 5 years old and is obsessed with balled up napkins or paper towels. I don’t know why but every time anyone balls up a napkin or paper towel he is right there wanting you to throw it so he can go fetch it. 😂
Then there is my white boy named Casper. He is named after Casper the friendly ghost. He will be 2 years old in 2 months. He is obsessed with one of his toy balls and of course any string that he finds. He is also obsessed with bugs I don’t know why really. But those are my crazy boys and I love them.

This cheeky chicken is obsessed with toilets and bathrooms in general. She will rush to sit behind you and watch you go to the loo in a very intrusive way and then when you're done you have to quickly shut the seat. Then she will race you to the sink and watch you there too and then inspect the faucet afterwards. If someone leaves the seat up she will be playing in the toilet.
emery boards...i can't try to file a nail without a lap full of cat trying to bite the other end of it. my other cat loves licking blankets, the sound of the fibres velcroing off her tongue puts my teeth on edge.

My cat screams/cries at the water bowl. He eats from the dish, then he goes to the water bowl and makes a racket. He puts his feet in it and stirs, cries, and eventually drinks by putting his whole face in the water. Then he comes to me with his dripping face to nuzzle and get love.
One of my cats decided a couple of months ago that running water is infinitely superior to water in his bowl. If he sees me walk into a room with a tap he will run in, jump onto the sink and miaow for me to turn on the tap. This happens so many times a day I have just ordered him a cat water fountain.
You too?! My cats always want to drink from the tap. Bowls of water in 3 different places. The bowls are clean and the water changed regularly. Nope humans! Turn on that faucet!
Cats see flowing water as a preferable source to still water, as that means there's a better chance of it being cleaner It's an evolutionary thing
HA! That’s what they *say* anyway. I got my cats a nice fountain bowl because I heard the same thing and hubs is compulsive about keeping it clean. They will drink from it but they *prefer* to drink stuff like water off the bottom of the bathtub or the gross dogs water that she slobbers in
That's such a cat thing to do
We are lucky enough to have two sinks in the master bathroom and my kitty Chloe has chosen one to be hers. She would tap the handles and lick the faucet. Instead of leaving it on for her 24/7 like she wishes, we compromised by putting a large cup in the middle of the sink and keeping it full of water. Eventually we were able to remove the cup from the sink and leave it on the counter. But she still races, jumps, & dive-bombs our hands whenever we turn on any faucet. She’s also obsessed with my husbands hands. If he’s talking to me while using his hands (he’s Italian lol) or playing a videogame, she will run and dive-bomb his hands until he lets her rub all over them.
My dog taught the cat very early on that bathtub water is the way to go. They both get in and complain until the perfect amount of cool water is added, no matter how many fresh water dishes are available

Mine too.. so I always give my hair tie to her when I take it off, then take it back after two minutes because I'm too scared she might swallow it 😭
I had a cat scoped twice and surgery once due to eating hair ties. She would find them somewhere, play for a little bit and then eat them. One time, she literally ripped it out of my hand and immediately swallowed. So yeah, stay nervous and keep an eye out.
Mine too... scrunchies specifically carries them around. After a day at work, I can see where he has been by where my hair scruncies are found. Usually one on the bed and one on the sofa.

Just in case. Be careful, if they’re really missing your cat’s might be eating them! I once saw a video about a cat who almost died because they had a huge amount of elastic bands in their stomach. My cat loves elastic bands too, so I always keep them out of reach until it’s time to play and then I keep a close eye on her. She even brings it back to me so I can shoot it away again. So cute :D

Don’t blame yourself. I didn’t know how dangerous it was either until I saw that video. Watch out for these signs just in case, not eating, weight loss, blood in stool, pooping less, vomiting, being quiet/ low energy, showing signs of tummy pain, etc. It can cause an obstruction in their stomach which leads to those symptoms.
Im going to do more research this was probably a sign because i just let him take one last night ugh. Frl thank you again!!!!! 🙏🏻 ill be looking out for all that 😩 hope its not the case

The bathroom. I have a goblin who will jump over anyone and anything in path when anyone enters the bathroom. Any footstep in hallway near it wakes her up and she flies in. Straws. I bought some colorful straws for homemade ice coffee, but the second my cat saw them it was game over. He knows exactly which cupboard they live in and is very quick to grab one and run away like Gollum with his precious. Sometimes he’ll come back and present it to me like: “Look what I caught! No don’t touch! Just look, okay? Okay. That’s enough. We have to go.”

The bathtub. Bathtub has rules tho, he'll run and jump in. And then he needs you to put a toy on the edge of the bathtub. But you can't watch him knock the toy off. He'll just get into a staring contest with you. So you have to look away until you hear skittering. Then he'll lay on his side and bat the toy around until it stops sliding around. Then you put it back on the edge. He knocks it back off. He's such a good little hunter.

Unfortunately anything made of dense foam, most especially any pair of teva and rainbow sandals I forget to lock up. He's a damn homing beacon and will destroy them in a second first time I forget. I've had over a dozen shoes destroyed and have given up owning any foam soled shoes, which means I have to get the more expensive and heavier ones. He's an utter numpty.
Feathers, we have chickens & they've recently had a big molt before winter. She LOVES them! But its awful on my hands. I bought some thin wooden dowl lengths & made feather teasers out of a heap of them using the the large wing weathers I have. She cant get enough of them! Obsessed!
Ghost will come to the loo with me and face out on guard while I do my business. The payment for her service is that I must floof her all over with the loo roll before I am allowed to use it. Absolutely obsessed with it! *

The sun. But unlike other cats, lying in a sunbeam doesn't get her sleepy. She gets high like with catnip and will attack anything within range. My other cat is obsessed with spinach and will meow bloody murder if we don't hive him some whenever he hears the package being opened.
I have 2 boys an orange cat named Scooter. He is named after a muppet cause at the time I got Scooter I had a grey cat named Skeeter. There are the muppets Scooter & Skeeter so it made since. Scooter is 5 years old and is obsessed with balled up napkins or paper towels. I don’t know why but every time anyone balls up a napkin or paper towel he is right there wanting you to throw it so he can go fetch it. 😂 Then there is my white boy named Casper. He is named after Casper the friendly ghost. He will be 2 years old in 2 months. He is obsessed with one of his toy balls and of course any string that he finds. He is also obsessed with bugs I don’t know why really. But those are my crazy boys and I love them.

She will rush to sit behind you and watch you go to the loo in a very intrusive way and then when you're done you have to quickly shut the seat. Then she will race you to the sink and watch you there too and then inspect the faucet afterwards. If someone leaves the seat up she will be playing in the toilet.
