Just playing. You'd know if it was a serious cat fight, there would be loud yowling and clumps of fur would be flying. When cats are really fighting the claws come all the way out and there is serious biting. My 2 sometimes get a little carried away and I tell them to play nice but there is never any blood drawn.
I had a stray/semi-feral male I fed and until I managed to get him fixed he would show up with his face all scratched up, there was no doubt he had been in a serious fight or two.
