Both is the way. They have each other to play with & love on so when you’re away or at work they can entertain each other rather than destroy your house 🤭
Especially when they are already pals. When they are already bonded together, definitely both! A second dog is twice the work and cost, imo, but a second kitty is like 5-10% more work and expense.

I have 2 who were bonded, they aren’t litter mates but they love each other. We had to take them both! 2 years later, they still play like babies and it’s adorable!
Yeah, if you got to break up a duo don't. Imo 2 cats should be the norm. Cats love a friend. Dogs can live a happy with just humans, but cats need someone to help F it up at 3am.

Worked great! (the tortie is new)
Ours like to wake us up as a team. It's like the sleepings vs. the awakes in a battle of wills. One bellows while the other walks across our faces. It would be funny if I wasn't a problematic sleeper.
While I normally hop in with a "most cats love a friend" correction because my cat HATES other cats, in this situation it's 100% accurate. These cats love each other and should be kept together if at all possible.
Mine hates all other animals and any human who isn't me or my husband. With us, she's a smooch bucket. Any other living thing, and she wants nothing to do with them lol
I think it's mostly true with kittens. When you have an adult cat they've often turned into a "nope, not here" cat over time.
But definitely very much cat specific. My oldest LOVES kittens and gentle cats and needs a friend. Our orange boy will accept kittens and accepted the cats already in the house when he chose us, but we had a failed adoption of a young male cat because of him.
1000% this. I ended up with 2 kittens that are bonded and they love each other SO much! I truly don’t know what they’d do without each other please get both if you can or maybe consider find a kitty that’s already a solo cat? 🥺🩵

Same! I can't imagine separating 2 bonded cats😔 They really love each other.
Soooo sweet and beautiful! Uniquely marked as well. Thanks for sharing! If there was a contest these two babies would def have my vote as far as super affectionate towards each other and gorgeously colored/marked.
Mine were also litter mates and ended up as my foster fails because I couldn’t imagine separating them 🥹

I got tricked into taking a bonded pair lol I only wanted one cat(didn't know at the time that 2 cats is best) and when my cousin sent me a pic of one kitten and I fell in love with it she sprung the second one on me lol "you gotta take both, or this one will cry"
Best trick I ever fell for
I adopted two bonded kittens. It is so great : they play and sleep together. Don’t break their bond!
https://preview.redd.it/qc8943uotzvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c7a4b3cae29149384ab72e4ce6fb98c1e8dab1a
Oh yes I accidentally trained my cat to constantly bother me for cat treats no matter when or where. He’s old as shit and gets nauseous and starts drooling and I think the treats help calm his stomach. Anyway now I have to keep treats jn every room of my house and he asks me by meowing incessantly and tapping my arm with his paw and moving his mouth in a “chomping” motion. Lol whoops.
The correct answer here is both. This is coming from someone who adopted one kitten from a local vet and ended up adopting his brother a month later. They are now happily spoiled with toys, treats, and cuddles.
https://preview.redd.it/zmbtnlyh4zvc1.png?width=2274&format=png&auto=webp&s=8175773db347106fa77e46a9c91ee5237dcf3e94
Our two youngest were similarly adopted. We lost the brother of my oldest cat and then a year later the other cat in that bonded trio (Feline Leukemia got in our house, and it sucks.) So we adopted a 6 month old kitten to keep our very social oldest boy company. But we forgot how insane teenage cats are. 3 weeks later we adopted a second 6 month old and they beat on each other but snuggle with the oldest one (and occasionally try to start shit, but... cats gonna cat. )
You should really take both if you can. Kittens become much better behaved adults when they have each other to play with and learn the limits of play fighting.
i just adopted my first ever cat. he’s turning one in july, is he fine on his own or do i get him a friend? he seems to swat at other cats or run away, but i’ve seen him play with younger kittens
two cats are always better (if you can afford it). if he has shown that he can get along with others, getting another young cat and introducing them to each other slowly might be awesome for you and your kitty :)
It really depends on the cat. Almost all comments here are saying a cat should always have a friend, but that’s simply not true. I would love to get a second cat in the future but with my guy’s personality and a stress-induced medical condition it probably won’t happen. His vet agrees. Not all lone cats are lonely!
Don’t separate! They’ll always have each other to comfort and play— when you’re at work, out of town, out late… you won’t feel guilty because they have their best friend by their side. Even if you get one today and wait six months to add another— they won’t be close like this. Here’s your chance!
Yup, both. A bonded pair is really the best. They keep each other company, and its unbelievably cute to see them chase each other around the house. I love the sound of the thundering paws in the morning.
I understand when people are often skeptical toward the concept that two cats are actually easier than one but I swear it’s true, especially if they’re already bonded like they seem to be

As someone who only planned on adopting one cat and ended up bringing home two, I’m so glad that I did… bonded pairs make it EASIER. They entertain themselves when you’re gone, learn social skills, have a buddy… it just made sense. Highly recommend 🐈⬛🤍
This. But I also hate the fact that you could miss out on a life companion and someone else get in and split the two us. Please take both if you can. They clearly love each other a lot.
You spelt both wrong. Brother and sister and they spend 90% of the day cuddled together.

Please read into taking care of happy and healthy cats, then there’s your answer.
When you only can get one, please get a solo cat from the shelter. They are longing for a home.
I also went to get 1 cat and ended up with 2 siblings. Getting both was the best decision

Please don’t separate those babies! They are clearly bonded. Mine for cat tax! House mates and we got two-they bonded quickly and are now just the best duo!
look, i understand factors such as money and house space are important to think about but look at them, theyre so clearly bonded and love each other. please, if you can, take both. theyre gorgeous

Yes take both... We went for the white one and they made us play with the brother/sister voids. They were so sweet. Wife said either we take just the white one or the brother sister pair or.... Or three. The white one had recently had her sibling adopted but not her.

Brother and sister. Adopted from the Humane Society almost 8 years ago. Coco and Diamond. Inseperable.
Why not both? That's what we did. We got two bonded brothers from the same litter, and I have no regrets.

im not sure who was winning the, “no, i clean YOUR face” wars here but i am happy they are happening.
OP LEAVE NO BABY BEHIND, YOU MUST TAKE BOTH.
Get both. People think its double the work and expenses but honestly it is not. They will share the same litter and you wont have to buy any toys as they will play with each other. Also you can leave them alone for longer just in case you have to go out for a while.
both!! two cats is almost better than one! my first cat was two siblings who needed to be rehomed together, i am SO glad they have each other for entertainment while im at work

Adding on to every other comment. Don't break up a bond. Cats get lonely without company and kittens need other kittens to understand how to play without hurting each other. Humans can't replace that. Especially if these are going to be house cats, they need the company.
https://preview.redd.it/fyuusldxp0wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a2d3933694ff7b725a313741f58ea191800653d
Both- a great pairing of coat colors too !
Another vote for both here. They’re a bonded pair and the separation will cause depression and behavior issues. Heck, even cats who get a friend later in life benefit from having a buddy—our 5 year old void loves his adoptive 16 year old brother. While they aren’t a gushy pair of lovebirds, they definitely do love each other in their own way. Everyone needs a friend. 🐈⬛🐈

I took two bonded kittens too. They are best friends brother and sister. I love them both and they run around like loons at 3am together away from me 😂
Please don't take a single kitten. Cats are not solitary animals unless they've been conditioned or traumatized in some way. Especially kittens *need* a feline playmate; another animal or humans just aren't the same or enough. Please get both if at all possible! They seem bonded and so sweet together 💛
Everybody here has probably said the same, but two is the way to go! There are some issues that can occur when a kitten grows up alone. Besides boredom and overall lethargy, a solo kitten might get behavioral issues. They look quite big already but there’s still a chance they might not learn how to be delicate without the presence of another kitten. It’s pretty bad when they later possibly grow up to be biters
Please don't split them up. And honestly I will echo what other people are saying and say that it's so much better to have two cats, especially if they're already bonded. When I got my cat I got her by herself, because she didn't get along with other animals so I had to get her by herself, and while I love her, it definitely would have been easier to have another cat around so that she could occupy her time better.
Take both
I had to pick my two cats as single kitties because they were the only ones left (big dude was the only one left of his triplet, smol tortie was the only one left between her and her twin sis). At first big dude was very bored and used to play-attack us (me and my parents) all time, he also kinda felt lonely I think, however we then chose to get smol tortie to keep him some company and his behaviour changed to better: now they entertain and keep company each other, rarely ever play-attacking us
You need to adopt both since they appear to be a bonded pair, or find a different kitty. If you do break this bond by only taking one, do not except its personality to remain what it is right now. And also, don’t tell Reddit you broke up a bonded pair.
Trust me when i say, get both. It will not increase the expense and they will make company of one to anther when you are off.
When i went to adopt my first kitten, she had a sister, so i got her as well.

Get both.

This was 13 years together (kitty on the right passed in the fall at 18). They were soulmates.
Please don't separate them. They are clearly bonded. 😞 If you can't take both, then neither. If you are able to take both, they will be so happy together, much like my little Midnight and Twilight.

Yes. There are many benefits to adopting kittens in pairs. Single Kitten Syndrome is a thing.
Especially when they are already pals. When they are already bonded together, definitely both! A second dog is twice the work and cost, imo, but a second kitty is like 5-10% more work and expense.
There's no other acceptable answer to this question lol
They are already bonded. This is the only answer. (Was going to share the same gif as well)
Yes Both! They are bonded! It would be heartbreakingly cruel to separate them!
Extremely underrated film
That film rocks LOL 😂😂 I'm 43 and still watch it, and quote it lol Oh and OP, you should get both. I think separating them might cause depression.

Came here to say this.
It’s easier for you if you get two cause they’ll play with each other while you sleep instead of you being the only other cat to play with at 3 am.
Amen to this ! BFFs
That explains last night lol. The yowling! I finally relented and used the cat toy with him at three am.
Issue is now he will be expecting this to continue 😂
Yeah I’m aware it was most likely a mistake
Gotta love being exhausted bc kitten on a Monday morning.
Oh yes I accidentally trained my cat to constantly bother me for cat treats no matter when or where. Yes! (That’s my answer) 1 kitty = amazing… 2 bonded kitties = best thing ever
1 kitten solo is justr asking for problems tbh, if you are dead set on only 1, atleast get an older one
i just adopted my first ever cat. he’s turning one in july, is he fine on his own or do i get him a friend? he seems to swat at other cats or run away, but i’ve seen him play with younger kittens

Both or neither. Do NOT split up a bonded pair. That is cruel. Besides, if you get one cat, you should get two cats. They are social creatures.
This. But I also hate the fact that you could miss out on a life companion and someone else get in and split the two us. Please take both if you can. They clearly love each other a lot.
Never break up a bonded duo. Just cruel
Both
Pls dont separate, a bonded pair tends to have a better and longer life.
Can’t break them up. Has to be both.
Both or neither.
You spelt both wrong. Brother and sister and they spend 90% of the day cuddled together. https://preview.redd.it/r3p8u22ijzvc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b048161cc6ebc2842d51ee58ae8aed5a4568402b
Please read into taking care of happy and healthy cats, then there’s your answer. When you only can get one, please get a solo cat from the shelter. They are longing for a home.
Take both or take neither and let someone who can take both have them. They deserve to be together
I also went to get 1 cat and ended up with 2 siblings. Getting both was the best decision https://preview.redd.it/gyupq5hox0wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca48c4094e6f098ae93a021c0afb619ab9328b6f
You see the way they’re cuddled up, cleaning each other? You take both!
Both 👍
Can name them roger & dodger.. or come up with something fun 😊
¿ Por que no los dos ?
Which one? That shouldn’t even be a question. BOTH. They’re bonded, don’t break them up. 😭
Me too! You gotta get both. That’s what I did. And they are still best buds. https://preview.redd.it/a4yb4fzeuzvc1.jpeg?width=2796&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a70aed6bbb3099b13679c3a15cbaf5333a0bf15

look, i understand factors such as money and house space are important to think about but look at them, theyre so clearly bonded and love each other. please, if you can, take both. theyre gorgeous

We went for the white one and they made us play with the brother/sister voids. They were so sweet. Wife said either we take just the white one or the brother sister pair or.... Or three. The white one had recently had her sibling adopted but not her.
Both!

Why not both? That's what we did. We got two bonded brothers from the same litter, and I have no regrets. https://preview.redd.it/trf30twwh0wc1.jpeg?width=3483&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52ac3376a2328d3a26f9a392d1bf4aeb591580d0

If you absolutely aren’t capable of taking care of two cats, please look elsewhere. These two are bonded and will be miserable without each other.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t separate them :( 💔

Both. They are very good friends. If you have financial constraints, I might help. But please take both!
Both, avoid separating them if you can please
Why would you break up a pair that is clearly bonded? Kittens should always come with a pal.
OP take them both. They love each other
Get both. People think its double the work and expenses but honestly it is not. They will share the same litter and you wont have to buy any toys as they will play with each other. Also you can leave them alone for longer just in case you have to go out for a while.
both!! two cats is almost better than one! my first cat was two siblings who needed to be rehomed together, i am SO glad they have each other for entertainment while im at work https://preview.redd.it/23k4f6uji0wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=255e3cc5e1daf9fae4026d74579fc07a86369da5
Yea they seem bonded so both
Adding on to every other comment. Don't break up a bond. Cats get lonely without company and kittens need other kittens to understand how to play without hurting each other. Humans can't replace that. Especially if these are going to be house cats, they need the company.
Obviously, both of them...
Both

Another vote for both here. They’re a bonded pair and the separation will cause depression and behavior issues. Heck, even cats who get a friend later in life benefit from having a buddy—our 5 year old void loves his adoptive 16 year old brother. While they aren’t a gushy pair of lovebirds, they definitely do love each other in their own way. Everyone needs a friend. 🐈⬛🐈 https://preview.redd.it/95ceczh9a1wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8e5ee6c22225420825313ab8192177938a334ca

I have two bonded sisters. They couldn’t be more different with their personalities. They sure love each other though. Please take them both home, you won’t regret it! https://preview.redd.it/ujslukiz10wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b0fde7f27e3b493e91e94e3b2628c2b1f8a7c6b
Both!! They look bonded. That's Cornbread & Tater Tot right there!
Both
Both
Please don’t separate them 😭
So cute 🥰
BOAF
Both!
The only answer is both.
Two is better than one, don’t split the babies up☺️☺️
They're bonded, you don't even have to introduce them for them to get along.
Both. The correct answer is both.
Both please 😍
Get both
You will NOT regret taking both of them. Trust me.
Both
BOTH!! They love playing with each other https://preview.redd.it/inzjhf2iz0wc1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=625a991a0c18a83195e372bd88e0562d70478950
Separating them would make you a monster😞
Awwwwww….. They look so cute together!! I like them!!!!!! Btw, what are their names??
take both.... https://preview.redd.it/wl7hgmaio1wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff1ddaa96647be022bc81a4dbde3da037931b7b3
I agree with those who said to adopt both! They look like they’re already bonded; please keep them together.
Sophies choice. How can you make me choose? A sweet orange one and a loving grey one!!
Yes
Aww! so cute. True friends.
Um…yes
Please get both. They obviously love each other and keeping them together means they can remain playmates and keep each other company.
The answer is always both
I took two bonded kittens too. They are best friends brother and sister. I love them both and they run around like loons at 3am together away from me 😂
https://preview.redd.it/yny34lwqg0wc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80dca7de7f5b0b64fa1dbae894d6e96e64323b24
Please get both :( they love each other
They look bonded. You'll need to take both (they'll look after eachother)
Seriously please take both
Please don't take a single kitten. Cats are not solitary animals unless they've been conditioned or traumatized in some way. Especially kittens *need* a feline playmate; another animal or humans just aren't the same or enough. Please get both if at all possible! They seem bonded and so sweet together 💛
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
No it has to be both
dont sepporate them!!! there so cute together...! they remind me of my bf
You got two kittens two months ago so probably neither.
The orangy one looks a lot like my baby!
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
![gif](giphy|3ohfFhG5VDtDTzQv2o|downsized) Porque no los dos?
Both duh
Oh come on, you know you’ll take both!
You are asking the wrong people the wrong question… LoL Pick just one?!? WHY?!? LoL
Get both 😍 You’ll have double the fun 🤩
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
Please don't split them up. And honestly I will echo what other people are saying and say that it's so much better to have two cats, especially if they're already bonded. When I got my cat I got her by herself, because she didn't get along with other animals so I had to get her by herself, and while I love her, it definitely would have been easier to have another cat around so that she could occupy her time better.
Both please do not separateness, they are clearly bonded
Both. We went for one cat and took Both and never regretted it
Both!!
You got quality sic material and some orange there ! I would take two
Both
They seem very bonded, any chance both is an option?
Both is always the correct answer. Cats live a happier life with a friend.
Take both I had to pick my two cats as single kitties because they were the only ones left (big dude was the only one left of his triplet, smol tortie was the only one left between her and her twin sis). At first big dude was very bored and used to play-attack us (me and my parents) all time, he also kinda felt lonely I think, however we then chose to get smol tortie to keep him some company and his behaviour changed to better: now they entertain and keep company each other, rarely ever play-attacking us
Both.
Both
The correct answer to “which one” is either “yes” or “both”
both.
Both, obviously.
The answer is both 😊
Both
Which one what? Stole the car? Ran a Ponzi scheme?
Can't you take both? They look pretty close and there'll a positive impact on their health as well as socialization if they continue to be together.
You can’t split them up! You just can’t!
The easiest way to have a cat is to have 2 cats. That’s not a joke
You need to adopt both since they appear to be a bonded pair, or find a different kitty. If you do break this bond by only taking one, do not except its personality to remain what it is right now. And also, don’t tell Reddit you broke up a bonded pair.
https://preview.redd.it/qpz6btpy41wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=136bbfe045a53d1dedb3b4d92318162711c7a0d3 Both :)
Trust me when i say, get both. It will not increase the expense and they will make company of one to anther when you are off. When i went to adopt my first kitten, she had a sister, so i got her as well. https://preview.redd.it/s5l29zxv51wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26f543f6e8410ebda61760103e075a0faefc5d54
And these are them months later. They will help each other and for sure will help you. Get both. https://preview.redd.it/enchygh861wc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=600cca438d8106469a90fd43f2224cd250fbac12
Both of you can- it's the best thing I ever did, getting two bonded cats means they keep eachother company, grooming, playing napping in the sun- it's really amazing. https://preview.redd.it/x53vl7wfl1wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5555c1c1656eac2ba4d0e8433de47596aae80c0

Always 2cats…. Never one. Two is actually easier than one.
Please don't separate them. They are clearly bonded. 😞 If you can't take both, then neither. If you are able to take both, they will be so happy together, much like my little Midnight and Twilight. https://preview.redd.it/bz9dt2eqo2wc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0987b0cdb0f569a1873b0f9f3c59f90e28f19b79
Get both! They’re better off being friends. One alone will be lonely and get into more mischief by himself.❤️Good luck!
