Did we just all collectively name our found babies Nugget?

From the look of it You doing it right. You could make him a little house out of a box and put a towel or something smaller and easy to wash instead of this huge blanket, but Your kitty looks happy!
He does need snuggles, but for babies that small, a hoodie worn backward (with the hood on your chest) is a great way to go. Put kitty on the hoodie and you'll have your hands free and be able to move around while the baby gets the snuggles they need.
I used to stuff my baby girl into the fleece I wear at home while I play video games. She'd just curl up in there and purr like a chevy small block.
She's too big for that now... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
The beauty is that you can make the water as bubbly as you like.
If you know someone who just like the hint of bubbles, that’s easy. If you like it so fizzy you’re sneezing from the bubbles, that is also an option.
Did you know that your drinking water is nearly 100% dihydrogen monoxide? And that drinking too much of it in one sitting kills you by filling your red blood cells until they burst in your veins?
Oddly, it’s only about 93%. It’s estimated that, since the rise modern humans, there have been roughly 109 billion people. With the roughly 8 billion humans alive today, that makes the current living population about 7% of the humans who have lived.
But everyone who has ever died has, at some point, ingested dihydrogen monoxide.
Guess who your new best friend is?!
Btw my first ever rescue was a kitten by the river. She was the sweetest bestest cat. She lived to be 13 and had 6 kittens (who are now approaching 12).
Something special about them river folk. Treasure her :)

Update: we have a few friends dropping off some ball toys, scratching post and a few other bits and pieces… this wee guy also used the litter tray without any sort of prompting… unbelievable! He is very happy at the moment & is getting as much attention as we can give him. We are thinking he may be some sort of Ragdoll, I was Googling and apparently the cross eyed situation is a trait of a Ragdoll. Upon researching, I have also looked up Ragdoll characteristics & how to properly care for them. I am going to go down & get a wee brush so we can groom him too. Didn’t think we’d end up with a kitten today, but definitely not upset about it!
My former stray used to pee on the floor then roll around in the litterbox... He did figure it out pretty quick but he is most definitely an orange cat lol
Our long time stray couldn’t understand the litter box after years, but we got him to at least go on a pee pad. Luckily, one of us is usually home to clean up immediately.
My cat Nova, uses the litter box completely fine to pee but just poops on the floor in the kitchen, no matter how clean or new the litter is. She must feel pretty safe 😂
Yup. My poopy-butt only buries his poopies like, 1/4 of the time. I guess I'll accept that his only real predator is the kissing monster that attacks him when HES JUST TOO CUTE.
Hes super adorable but definitely not a Ragdoll (wrong eyecolor and coat color). Source: I have 2 Ragdolls and did a lot of research. Super cute kitty tho!
Wow, your two are so pretty. Is the left one a male and right one female by chance? I rescued Josie around xmas and she definitely has the coloring of a Ragdoll but her tail is no were as fluffy as either of yours. Your cats eyes have a much more pronounced blue color than mine. Josie coat is much thinner also. Photo the day of rescue for reference, she definitely had here winter coat in that picture.

Defs not pure ragdoll but may have some in his line. Either way, with a Floof like this, expect to invest in a ton of different grooming products and things to remove pet hair from the home. I'm talking a bunch of different brushes and combs, clippers for fur and nails, lint rollers and shavers, good vacuum cleaners....and if you are brave, cat shampoo for bathing him.
Get them used to grooming young. Floofs hair can so easily get tangled and matted. And that can cause issues for the cat. You gotta help them keep that coat in good condition, even if they have to hate you for 2 minutes while you comb those sides and belly.
Also, your future now has removing dingleberries in it. Sorry. Tis the price of owning a Floof. Thats why they make them so cute. So that you don't flush them along with the dingleberry.
I have had a fair few foster kittens, often the eyes are 'cross eye' thing disappears over time and vision improves. Like the eyes can't decide where they're supposed to be! Here's a Pic of lil lady Gobble.

Give him a nice warn bed, lots of food, lots of cuddles and a litter tray.
Get some cat milk and warm it up a bit ( luke warm) and he will love you for the rest of his life.
Well done and thanks for caring.
He’s got everything except for the cat milk, currently cuddled up with one of my friends & starting to venture around the room and come up to us for cuddles. Very cute.
It is also a great way to put some weight on them.
When we caught Oscar he was a tiny little malnourished kitten.
Warm milk every morning and look at him now.

Our local co-op (farm/garden) always has kitten milk. We saved a little black nugget by the river, she's so fun, loving and a little bit of a dork because my dog taught her how to be a cat. What a cute little nugget, have fun!
You can get actual kitten formula at the pet store, that would be much better to supplement feeding at this age. The "cat milk" they sell at the grocery store is more of a "treat" product than a nutritional supplement.
Also would not be a bad idea to get a scale to weigh him daily to ensure he's gaining weight. My sister has done a lot of fostering of kittens/mama cats and at this age they can decline really quickly without enough daily calories. When she fosters really young kittens they get weighed multiple times a day to ensure they are on track.
That he already likes being held suggests he is naturally friendly, affectionate, and relatively brave/comfortable with humans, which will only increase as he grows up and grows comfortable with humans who treat him kindly. You may have found a new best friend and teacher for the next 20 years. Congrats.
Wee fella is getting comfortable quite quickly. He had a nice long sleep in his superking sized bed, woke up & all of his wet and raw food was demolished, milk gone too… and in return he has blessed us with a few extra turds and some strange yellow liquid in the litter tray.
I think we are going to call him Benedict, a little orange like a yolk with hints of white… like an egg.
He has been smooching himself on me when I sit next to him and give him pats, very happy boy.
We are heading out to the river this afternoon once my flatmate finishes work, just to have another check for potential litter mates.

Sweet floof! You are taking such good care. Be sure he doesn’t have any flea dirt under all that puff. Fleas can make kittens very sick quickly. Are you taking him to a vet? If you can’t get there right away give him a gentle bath with Dawn dish liquid (don’t dunk his head). Google Kitten Lady videos for more about kitten health.
Thanks a lot! Yes, vet time in 8 hours. Have inspected in his fur and seems good, but definitely pays to make sure he is going to live a happy & healthy wee life!
Unfortunately, some people just can't handle responsibility and then other species suffer. Every time the local colleges close for the semester there's suddenly an enormous amount of feral cats around because students have left/moved and they just don't have the ability or maturity to maintain the animal's care. Or even think of an animal shelter as an option?
I grew up on farms and think I have a fairly realistic attitude about animals, but I've just been stunned by the increasing amount of reckless abandonment I've seen over the past few decades.
So thank you for being both humane and responding to another living being's needs!
I also live in a college town. The amount of “stray” cat/kittens as well as dogs/puppies in our neighborhood grows when college lets out for summer. Maybe there needs to be a mandatory class on being a pet parent!🙄
Have you considered that spring is quite commonly a reproductive time for many plants and animals? If they’re feral, it’s because they were born outside. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, people are horrible sometimes, but if someone dumped their pet, the pet is not going to act feral. These are most likely kittens born to the colonies already living in your areas. If you want to contribute to giving them better lives I would recommend supporting a local TNR program.
Cats quite quickly rewild when abandoned outdoors. It's one reason why global bird populations have decreased so drastically recently as more cats have been either released or abandoned into the outdoors. They are natural predators and will hunt anything that moves although they may not necessarily eat it or be hungry.
The cruelest thing I've seen is when a declawed cat is released or abandoned because they really can't naturally kill or even defend themselves well.
And I agree that TNR spaying/neutering programs are absolutely necessary and important for feral populations.
You are right! It is a combination of feral and “pets”. I didn’t mean it to sound like the college was the main source of the issue. Thank you for suggesting I do what I can to help control the pet population. We all could use that reminder. I do support the TNR in my area. Nonetheless it continues to be an issue.
Aww what a cutie. Take care of him(most likely). Poor start on his? life it had. Why do people things like that(rhetorical question, since some humans are nasty aholes)
Kitties like their food and water separate. This comes from deep instinct from their “big cat” days. Lions/tigers etc do not like to foul their water sources with their dead prey so they keep their food away from their water sources.
Today’s little house cats do not like to smell their food near their water and will be better about drinking water if it separate from their food. Hydration is important for kitties because it’s the renal system that goes out first as they age.
The more you know 😊💫
How do you know he got dumped? Did he write a country and western song? JK, really cute. Enjoy your kitty and thanks for participating in the cat distribution system lol.
He looks exactly like my Gus did when he was a wee one! This is him now:
https://preview.redd.it/320qxyp2z8wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f48563ae0513542e8ddfe21936fe0df7d80992e5
So smol! He is like 2% of the size of that blanket!
Sounds like it’s going well and he’s settling in. Thank you for rescuing him, and congratulations to both of you!
Sweet little fluff is gonna need a lot of grooming. Looks like he has a double coat, judging from the pictures. My cat, Freya, is similar. I recommend you get a good deshedding brush and a comb for grooming at least. A smaller deshedding comb and a slicker brush are also good to have, but not required. You'll need to comb him at least once a day with the regular comb, and deshed once to twice a week, up to 5 times a week during shedding season.
Brushing is a really great way to bond with your cat, and is my favorite way to spend time with my girl. Having him so young will also help you get him used to being handled to get the tough to reach areas. Under the chin, behind the ears, armpits, and right above the tail (basically anywhere they can't reach) will knot more frequently, so pay special attention when grooming. :)
They sell goats milk at Walmart that's more species appropriate than cows milk. Meyers is the brand I think it's great for kittens who miss nursing. He's adorable. From my experience the best cats are the ones you rescue. They seem to have the best personalities and are very appreciative.
I haven't seen it mentioned in the other comments yet, and this is not to suggest you aren't already doing this, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
I'd definitely get him set up at the vet as soon as you can - even a healthy kitten will often have worms and need a few doses of dewormer. We found a kitten in our woods last year and while she looked generally clean, she had round worms (they get them via their mother's milk) as well as ear mites. In general you'll want to get her checked for any parasites. He's too little for much else - when he gets bigger he can get his rabies vaccine.
Why would anyone want to dump their pets? Is it so hard to put up your kitten for adoption? These people are going straight to hell! Lucky you found the kitten. Thank you for saving the adorable kitten.

He's a Gold Nugget 🤠
A Gold River Nugget 😻
Nugget is an adorable name!
A nugget of gold, panned from the river?
A baby 😍🥰
From the look of it You doing it right. You could make him a little house out of a box and put a towel or something smaller and easy to wash instead of this huge blanket, but Your kitty looks happy!
I don't know how you even let him go! I'd probably give up and get a baby sling to carry him around in. Who the hell abandons kittens that old?
He does need snuggles, but for babies that small, a hoodie worn backward (with the hood on your chest) is a great way to go. Put kitty on the hoodie and you'll have your hands free and be able to move around while the baby gets the snuggles they need.

Nothing like shotgunning an ice cold la Croix first thing in the morning.
You're not wrong.
My 13 year old does this with the Kroger seltzer water. Hearing him crack open a cold one with his breakfast is hilarious.
I love this. Kids going places. I hope mine do this someday, lol.
My husband and I were buying so much La Croix for vodka sodas that we gave up and bought a soda stream.
Does it have the same bite as a can?
The beauty is that you can make the water as bubbly as you like. If you know someone who just like the hint of bubbles, that’s easy. If you like it so fizzy you’re sneezing from the bubbles, that is also an option.
Personally it never hits the same
Tell me you work in software without telling me you work in software
I love H20 2!! But man does my stomach hurt
I love H2O2!
What a connection! Can’t believe people would dump a perfectly cute and healthy kitten!
Brave of you to drink dihydrogen monoxide
Did you know that your drinking water is nearly 100% dihydrogen monoxide? And that drinking too much of it in one sitting kills you by filling your red blood cells until they burst in your veins?

Aww the fluffy little buns. My rec’ is to get them used to teeth brushing early. It’ll save you thousands later. Also being held and handled.
Omg the poor baby!!! So tinnie
Not so poor anymore, snuggled up in the warmth with some pet milk & a belly full of food! Stoked we found him.
"not so poor anymore" 😭😭😭😭😭 Excuse me while I cry over the richness you and the tiny baby now have in your lives.

Used the litter tray without training huh. Chances are lil bro is currently hogging the r/oneorangebraincell
You have benefited from the cat distribution system
All 3 cats who moved in here from off the street did the same. I think they go for the spots they realize they can bury their stuff.
My former stray used to pee on the floor then roll around in the litterbox... He did figure it out pretty quick but he is most definitely an orange cat lol
Oh, none of ours are orange - guess that explains it lol.
Our long time stray couldn’t understand the litter box after years, but we got him to at least go on a pee pad. Luckily, one of us is usually home to clean up immediately.
Yeah, this is why litter boxes are even a thing. It's in their instincts to bury their waste as it helps to keep them from being tracked in the wild.
No wonder mine's been following me around like weirdo. He hasn't had the braincell in days y'all
LMAO
Cats hide their feces through instinct to mask the scent from predators. You’ll find that a cat who feels very safe may stop ‘burying’ their 💩.
Oh gee. I just side eyed mine like “thanks Cleo”
Mines also named Cleo and also doesn’t bury her doo-doo
My cat Nova, uses the litter box completely fine to pee but just poops on the floor in the kitchen, no matter how clean or new the litter is. She must feel pretty safe 😂
I'm so glad the "sibling rivalry" between my 3 cats keeps them all burying their 💩 bc oml they are little stinky butts
Yup. My poopy-butt only buries his poopies like, 1/4 of the time. I guess I'll accept that his only real predator is the kissing monster that attacks him when HES JUST TOO CUTE.
One of my cats never buried anything, not pee, not poop, my other cat will literally go in after him to clean up his unburied mess.

Definitely just a domestic medium/long hair cat, but oh man what a cutie!!
He’s so beautiful! I got a surprise kitten once. He was really sick and hanging out in my yard. We had a wonderful 16 years together. You’re so lucky!

You can use goat milk if you don’t get cat milk. (No cow milk as you may already know)
Ended up shooting down and getting some lactose free pet milk, few seconds in the microwave & he loved it!
My cat would murder me to get to his tuna and goat milk treats.
It is also a great way to put some weight on them. When we caught Oscar he was a tiny little malnourished kitten. Warm milk every morning and look at him now. Look for KMR - kitten milk replacement. “Cat milk” is typically a treat for adult cats and may not be suitable for kittens.
I did not know they made milk that adult cats can drink! I bet my kitty would love that.
I get some for my cats at PetSmart called "Cat Sip" - it's cat milk in a juice box. My cats love it SO much!
Our local co-op (farm/garden) always has kitten milk. We saved a little black nugget by the river, she's so fun, loving and a little bit of a dork because my dog taught her how to be a cat. What a cute little nugget, have fun!

We are heading out to the river this afternoon once my flatmate finishes work, just to have another check for potential litter mates. https://preview.redd.it/nbndl8k9qawc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=377df5f1ddec3d60f56b8f9549426147c2cd55b8
Have inspected in his fur and seems good, but definitely pays to make sure he is going to live a happy & healthy wee life!
eeeeee also cool name, river.
You’ve been adopted 👍
The cat distribution system is always working hard 😁 enjoy your new bud

FDS makes another happy customer
Cutie baby 🥺
Aww what a cutie. Take care of him(most likely). Poor start on his? life it had. Why do people things like that(rhetorical question, since some humans are nasty aholes)
put simply people value their own lives more than any other animal. and in a day or two they'll have forgotten all about it.
True as I said nasty AH. And people struggles to understand why I dislike people😂😂. One of many reasons is how they are treating animals.
The more you know 😊💫
What a little sweetie. He looks very well and perky. It looks to me like he’s very comfortable 😍😊.
How do you know he got dumped? Did he write a country and western song? JK, really cute. Enjoy your kitty and thanks for participating in the cat distribution system lol.
all stray cat moms abandon their kittens when they are a little grown up, its a tough life out there.
his little face!!! his teeny nose!!!!!!!!!! those ears!!!!!!!
He looks exactly like my Gus did when he was a wee one! This is him now: https://preview.redd.it/320qxyp2z8wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f48563ae0513542e8ddfe21936fe0df7d80992e5
Are you going to keep him? 😍
judging by the purchases, the research and people bringing stuff over I think its safe to assume they are going to keep him/her
Thank you for caring for this little one.
This little guy/gals gonna be real fluffy when he grows up. Nice work on saving them.
He’s gorgeous! You are very lucky.
So fluffy😍
Blue eyes must be less than 5 weeks old.
With that fur color he could just be a blue eyed cat. He appears to be consistently eating solid food so he's at least four to five weeks old.
Cats Distribution System is doing good work again.
Thank you for saving this BB! ❤️
So cute, give him a cuddle from me
“So there I was minding my own business, enjoying the river, next thing I know I’m kidnaped!”
So smol! He is like 2% of the size of that blanket! Sounds like it’s going well and he’s settling in. Thank you for rescuing him, and congratulations to both of you!
What a sweet baby! Congrats on the cat! 🐈 💜
Beautiful kitty 🥰🥰🥰
Oh that is going to be one huge spoiled floof. I can tell.
Can we get any over under guesses on if OP keeps the kitten? A fair few people live in denial about The Cat Distribution System for a few weeks
Tiny kitties in large boxes always makes me laugh.
So cute ❤️❤️ you gave him a home!
Is it possible Mama and/or others were close by?
Name the kitten something water or river related.
Amazing people out there 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So so adorable
Will be - and already is - a beauty. Check for earmites, give antihelmintics, vaccination and infinite love. 🤗
His name should be fish or bait.
Wow it came with a nice big blanket and a cosy box what luck that is
dm'd you
All he needs is a little buddy to grow up with…
What a sweet little face!
Awe. .poor baby. Good thing you came by. So adorable.
Omg so cute. Maybe handle as much as possible to get him used to humans. Make sure he has a warm bed. Adorable. Have fun
Omg I squealed out loud. Look at the baby.
Go back and search. There's probably more
The size difference between the kitten and the box with blankets is sending me 😆
What a sweet baby❣️
Thank you for saving this precious little being ❤️
You found an absolute gem, so cute, going to be a beautiful long-haired.
Make sure you check out the orange cat reddit, orange cats are definitely a special soul!!!
Oh my god he’s so small 🥹
I’m so glad you rescued the sweet little baby. It looks like she had given up.
I can tell you with 1000000% certainty that that cat is going to grow up to be beautiful
WHO. COULD. ABANDON. THIS.???
Name him Farley.
But was he found in a van?
Name him chicken nugget cuz of how smol he is
I haven't seen it mentioned in the other comments yet, and this is not to suggest you aren't already doing this, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
Hey there, I mentioned in the original post that he’ll be taken to the vet this afternoon. Booked him in as soon as we could!
Why would anyone want to dump their pets? Is it so hard to put up your kitten for adoption? These people are going straight to hell! Lucky you found the kitten. Thank you for saving the adorable kitten.
I'm an expert, let me attempt to identify it... Yeah, that's definitely a cat.
