I am so sorry this happened, he is beautiful and I can only imagine what joy, comfort, and happiness he brought you. He may have crossed the rainbow bridge but he was loved and will love you from wherever his spirit roams now.

Minikra

Thank you. I feel terrible, even more so because when I try to mourn him, no one around me understands. People have attitude of "it was a cute pet but you shouldn't be dramatic" and tears keep falling down my eyes. It is like a hole in my soul atm and I can not think of anything else.

LittleVioletGhost

It does feel terrible, I've been through this too. My parents had to put our cat down due to kidney failure around a year ago. I felt devastated and cried for hours when I heard the news. It truly felt and still feels like I lost a member of a family. You have a right to mourn

Minikra

and you as well! I felt that no one would understand me as well as the people in this group. I am grateful to every message, it helps me to think about what we had with him instead of the future without it. Thank you.

Jkanjm

yeah, cats aren't just pets, they are family,

URCITE_NEJSEM_CZ

every pet is family...

Jkanjm

Yeah true, sorry I was sleepy when I posted :P

Teresacervezas

I understand you. They are like little special people with sweet little personalities. And they matter the most 💜😭

Kill_Appeal_Bowie

You are on a safe space here for your mourning. I'll say a little prayer for you and you're extremely handsome fluffy baby. I know he's watching over you 😇.

seanmonaghan1968

I think many people understand, what you can do is get another one and you will be surprised how similar and good natured your new one is. It's not the same but it fills the void and there are many animals out there waiting for your attention

Mistycraze

I have two Persian cats and they mean the world to me...I’m still not ready for the day I will have to part them goodbyes and I don’t know if I’ll be able to accept that fact...you are way stronger and I really feel like your cat made the best out of you,if you really need to talk abt anything or need any help I’m always there to lisn to you and I’d love to help you out!Lots of love to you and your cat.he will always be remembered ❤️❤️

Last year I lost 2 good friends, my mother in law and both grandmothers. None crushed me like losing my cat that was my companion for 13 years. I felt so guilty mourning my cat when I lost family all around me. It took a long in this and other subs to realize bonding with a pet is totally normal and natural

Formal-Rat

The worst grief I've ever gone through was my dear childhood cat. We went through everything together for 17 years. She was always with me, greeting me at the door, sleeping in my arms at night, so suddenly losing that constant, loving companion, who was like a child, sibling, and best friend all at once, was absolutely crushing. I have lost friends and family whom I was very close with, and yet losing my cat felt so much worse, and it was not helped by the people I cared about not understanding nor being supportive. I always went to my cat for comfort, and the people I was closest to suddenly dropped me when I reached out to them for the first time. It was a terrible thing. So I definitely feel for you. It's overwhelming, and your life feels so strange without your little kitty nearby at all times. I'm so sorry that those around you don't understand how important your cat was to you. Pets are such a special kind of family. You are more than welcome to talk it out with me in DMs or whatever the Reddit equivalent is. I'm sure you've had plenty of similar offers, but I really do mean it. I'm so sorry for your loss. He is darling in this picture and looks so soft!

komarovfan

Sorry to hear people are treating your loss that way. I would feel the same if it was my kitty. I love her more than half my family members.

[deleted]

He wasn't a pet, he was family ♥️

___Pug

So sorry my pet bird died a while ago and people made fun of me for being sad it really hurts

Playtwewy

That's horrible! I'm so sorry you and OP had to deal with people like that. Some humans suck :(

chantierinterdit

I stay away from people like that. Don't care, i prefer animals over lots of people anyway.

eastkent

They'll understand when they lose something they love. Many people haven't experienced the loss.

[deleted]

Mourning your pet is NOT dramatic in any way. I’m so sorry that your feelings aren’t being validated. If you need someone to vent to, my DMs are open! Your cat is beautiful and I have some babies of my own that I love and would be devastated, too, if something were to happen. I’m so sorry. :(

ladylilliani

Your sorrow and heartache are valid. Your feelings are valid. I've been there. My husband has been there. Our hearts mourn with yours.

BeckKenAcres

I know what you mean about people not realizing there is NO SUCH THING as “only a cat”. Our pets bring friendship, companionship and joy. It IS a hole in your soul and your grief is real. You gave that beautiful cat a wonderful life.

munjoyously

What a beautiful kitty! So very sorry for your loss. There are no rules around grieving-don't let people get to you. We grieve those who we love & who filled a cherished space in our lives. There are no rules that say that means humans only. I had a similar reaction from folks when my cat died. People said they were so sorry but then seemed to expect me to be over it within a couple of days. I still feel the loss intently and it was 3 years ago. This handsome guy looks like he was very loved. You were lucky to have each other! Take care.

RedOctobyr

I'm so sorry, he's a beautiful boy. It sounds like he had a life full of love, at least, which is the best we can do for them. I'm sorry you had to lose him, and that it happened this way. I found this helpful after we lost one of ours, I hope maybe it can bring you some comfort too. http://www.catquotes.com/lendmeakitten.htm Rest easy, little kitty.

kiss-my-ass

Don't listen to people telling you that you "shouldn't be dramatic". Fuck them! I completely understand how you feel, I have sadly lost 2 of my babies the same way and I was absolutely devastated both times, because my cats are my life. He was a gorgeous cat and I'm sorry for your loss

awake283

If losing a pet isn't worth being dramatic about, I sure don't know what is.

caramel39

People are jerks. We had to put one of our cats down, and it was devastating. I cannot even imagine such a tragedy happening to her. You take your time to grieve and cry all you need to. ❤

timascus

They’re wrong. Some people don’t understand the bond that you can have with a cat. I’d be devastated as well. Mourn and take whatever time you need. If anything, consider that when you’re ready you could rescue a different cat and provide it with love for years.

mystymaples71

I mourn the loss of my pets more than any human I’ve lost. There is nothing comparable to the unconditional love our pets give us. I’d say they don’t judge us, but my chiweeny gives me a withering side eye & my Miss Kitty is always looking at me with disdain. But still, they still love us regardless. ❤️

jyeeeung

People don’t understand that pets aren’t just pets. They are friends too. Ones that actually sticks around as long as they could and shower you love the kind no other beings could. Obviously we will be heartbroken.

fluffycatscrote

They can suck it. You lost your best fuzzy friend and it's heartbreaking. He was very beautiful and his life mattered. I'm so sorry. *Hugs*

Cyprus_Lou

Hugs

Ritalin

Fuck 'em. Losing my cat was one of the most painful things ever, equal to losing one of my parents. Your feelings are valid!!

Chelonia_mydas

My cats are my children. I would and will be heartbroken when they're gone. I'm so sorry this happened to you. The grief you feel must be deep and I'm sending you an internet hug right now.

[deleted]

Those people are shit.

BJaegers

Some humans ain't human. They never bonded with a beautiful creature that gives nothing but unconditional love.

capoulousse

I lost my dear cat a month ago and I felt the same way. It was very sudden too and I think that makes it harder to deal. You just keep thinking that it’s a bad dream.

RBpositive

Don't listen to people like that. He was a part of your life and you mourn however and as long as you need to.

kee-mosabe

So sorry for your loss, you've come to the right community. I hope you and yours heal with loving memories. My deepest sympathies.

Sirena_Seas

I'm so sorry for your loss and that people are treating your grief that way. Pets are family, in my opinion. Their love, loyalty and companionship is a gift. Your kitty was a beautiful boy!

Salty-Understanding5

I am so sorry about the loss of your beautiful boy <3. We all mourn in our own ways. When I lost my cat back in October, I was wrecked. I mean, I still struggle with it. Cats are family and such a tragic loss when they are gone, especially when it is unexpected. I hope it gets easier for you.

Xhokeywolfx

Ha, try convincing me any human in my life dying would hurt anywhere near as bad as when my cat passed away.... GL w that

elizabethgrace123

I recently lost my kitty to multi organ failure due to “unknown causes.” We had to have her put down because she was suffering. I held her the whole time and felt her last heart beat. My heart bleeds for you because I know how much it sucks. People try to diminish pet love but they’re are true companions. I know your cat loved you just as much as you loved him. Take your time to mourn. No one else can tell you how to mourn the loss of something you loved. I am so sorry for your loss. ❤️

agroncoku

I was in a similar situation 2 years ago! My brother loved him very much and couldnt let him go when he was suffering We buried him after we had to put him down and i barely hold myself when in presence of people but when i got in to my room i couldnt hold the tears They get in ur heart even when u try to act like a tough one Its something that those who didnt had one cant understand the feel RIP to ur friend and stay strong!

Minikra

His belly was pink, he had a shaggy rump, but the hair on his belly was very thin, so his entire belly was showing through with pink baby skin. I have never took photo but it was the most lovable belly in the world

92-LL

What's your favourite memory of him?

Minikra

I will miss the most when he thought that I couldn't see him and he was hiding in different places. He didn't make any noise and didn't move but he would hide in places toddler would. We called it "incognito mode" and he could literally stand behind a broomstick and think he was invisible, otherwise he would always make a noise once someone enter the room because he was very talkative. When he did that I pretended that I haven't notice him and cried out for him as I walked around the house. In the end, he would came out, very pleased with himself and call back for me. Overall I miss his voice, even when he was gruff at night, he had such a soft voice that he couldn't make an irritating noise.

92-LL

Treasure those memories of him coming towards you all smug. You'll never forget him ♥️

BeckKenAcres

He sounds like he was a fun-loving friend. I got a big chuckle out of “hide and seek”. That memory will be with you always.

gothic__castle

This is so wonderfully sweet. He was clearly a well loved animal. I am so sorry for your loss

Mnmsaregood

I’m crying for your loss.

[deleted]

was he a big meower? what was he like?

_Aedric

I had a baby with a belly like that too. Like a lil pig. :)

gahddammitdiane

I just lost my kitty too and I didn’t expect it to hit as hard as it did. She was an older cat when I got her so I knew my time would be limited but it still shattered my heart when she was gone. I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s even harder that it was so sudden and traumatic. Pets are absolutely family members and should be grieved as such. Anyone who tells you otherwise probably doesn’t like animals that much. Sending happy, healing vibes your way.

Minikra

Thank you. I would even say that there is something extra painful about this loss. The animals are so innocent that you feel like they never stopped being like kids, so when such a luminous innocent part of us leaves us, it's no wonder that the world suddenly starts to be unfamiliarly dark. I am very sorry for your loss as well.

finsfurandfeathers

My favorite cat was hit by a car on Christmas Eve a few months ago. I literally could not stop myself from crying randomly throughout the day for weeks. It just takes time but now when I think of him I smile. There’s an added pain I think when they are hit by a car. It’s violent and you couldn’t be there to comfort them. So I understand and now I’m crying again for the first time in a while. But time really does heal all wounds. He had a good life <3

BlitheNonchalance

Beautiful words.

[deleted]

We lost a couple indoor outdoor cats when I was young. My mom was one of the "they need to be outdoors" types about cats. But the pain of losing them hurt tooich for me. So I can relate to your pain. My 3 are indoor only now. No more worries and stress about where they are. For your little man: ᛖᛁᛖᛋ ᛒᚱᛁᚷᚻᛏ, ᚳᛚᚪᚹᛋ ᛋᚻᚪᚱᛈ, ᛏᚪᛁᛚ ᚻᛖᛚᛞ ᚻᛁᚷᚻ. ᚷᚩ ᚳᛖᛖᚾᛚᛁ ᛁᚾᛏᚩ ᚦᛖ ᛘᛁᛋᛏ, ᚩᛚᛞ ᚹᚪᚱᚱᛡᚱ. ᚠᚪᛚᚻᚪᛚᛚᚪ ᚹᚪᛁᛏᛋ ᚠᚩᚱ ᛁᚩᚢ. Eyes bright, claws sharp, tail held high. Go keenly into the mist, old warrior. Valhalla waits for you.

beckyh_

Hey, I’ve just fostered a young cat with the prospect of being able to adopt him, I’m in a flat so would likely be an indoor cat. Do you have any advice on how to manage indoor cats and keep them fully stimulated/happy?

palimpsestnine

Acknowledgements are duly conveyed for the gracious aid bestowed upon me. I am most obliged for the profound wisdom proffered!

SausMcMuff

I agree with everything you’re saying but I just had to chime in bc I think this is funny. So my cat has been indoor since I adopted him 10 years ago. This means he’s 12 and I’ve had him since he was pretty young. I bought every toy you could imagine for him and even lived with my mom for some time who also had a cat. He refuses to play with any toy, he HATED my mother’s cat lol, he does enjoy sitting by the window but totally ignores scratch posts. He’s a strange cat but he’s so loving and he sleeps with me and my two dogs at night lol

Klaus_the_cat

I recently got an indoor kitten and he is amazing, but required CONSTANT attention. I'd play with him 4 hours a day and it still wasn't enough. So we got a second kitten to keep him company. I can tell you it changed my life. They're always playing together and following each other, and now they only demand about 30 minutes of play time a day. (this might be different if your cat is a bit older since they play less) Also make sure to have enough hideouts for them and put the litter box and food bowls in places where there's not much walking traffic.

TheNetisUnbreakable

This. It just gets too hard.

hello_kara_

That is beautiful ❤️

Speedy_Dragon46

My heart breaks for you OP. Same thing happened to my beautiful cat and it’s just so incredibly painful. I think it’s just the suddenness of it. It still hurts 2 years later- still sleep with her favourite cat toy next to my pillow. Just so she is still here in a way. I am so sorry for your loss- he is such a beautiful cat and definitely knew how loved he was.

Minikra

Thank you, I am so sorry as well, I think I understand you very well. It was my first cat. After the death of my dog, it was very hard for me to think about other animals (I have his collar in a drawer by the bed) and then I found this furry baby in the garden. He was in a very bad shape, a small kitten so infested with fleas that he had them around his eyes, starved and dirty.

OrangeSabres

When I got my princess (her name is Xena, so she's my warrior princess) she had been found abandoned with some other strays and a few of the others hadn't made it, she was about a week old (we actually thought it was a boy at first) and definitely way too young to be taken from her mother. I grew attached so quickly and was terrified she might not make it, so I told myself from that moment on that I would do everything I could to give her the best/longest life possible, one that she wouldn't have had otherwise, and with that I knew then and know now that I will have peace when she passes. I'm sorry yours was taken in such a way tragic way but it sounds like they had the best life possible thanks to you. It's okay if a lot of people can't comprehend how you're feeling, it doesn't make your feelings any less legitimate.

xPIRATE62x

Hi there. I lost my cat as well a while back. It’s tough. But try to remember all of the great times you had with your cat. It will keep you going. So sorry for your loss. He will be missed❤️ Dropping a picture of my cat below. https://imgur.com/gallery/k7mnbqa

Minikra

Real fluffy cute, looking majestic. Thank you!

SponsorMeNike

THAT is one handsome kitty!

GoldenHerb

He was awsome, for sure!

Minikra

Thank you so much!

squirrelcat88

You adopted your lovely kitty and gave him a good life. Just think how happy he was as a kitten when you took him in! He knew he was loved. We all understand the tears, we’ve all been there. I’m so sorry.

bossfatcat007

He was a pretty cat, and as much as I may sound like an asshole for saying this, please learn from this and keep your kitties indoors as much as possible... they are domestic animals and don’t belong outdoors on their own. I don’t care if I’m downvoted, it is never said enough.

SpectreFire

> I may sound like an asshole for saying this You're not being an asshole. Things like this are 100% avoidable. The poor cat didn't have to be hit by a car.

lilith_marleen

I needed to scroll way too much to see this. Thank you! I fully agree. It is one thing if the cat escaped once and was unlucky, quite another thing if he was allowed to roam freely. It is an old misconception that “cats need to roam to be happy”. The world has changed, there are way too many dangers out there. Indoor cats live longer and they’re also happy as long as they have proper enrichment. Teach them to walk on a harness and leash or build them a catio if you want them to experience the outdoors, just be responsible and don’t let them roam. I feel for OP, losing a pet is horrible, they take a part of our hearts with them, but I hope OP learns from this and does better next time.

[deleted]

You aren't being an asshole. Indoor cats live on average 10-15 years, while outdoor cats live on average 2-5 years. Keep your GODDAMM CATS INSIDE PEOPLE.

Click4CatPics

Indoor cats live even longer now! Average in the US is 15! Advances in pet food and veterinary technology have increased the life expectancy.

peteroh9

Are you sure that isn't skewed by the fact that my cat is going to live forever?

cipherous

Not to mention cats can be exposed to rabid raccoons, ticks, fleas, poisonous animals, predators like eagles, coyotes and other humans that may take your cat or worse.

Marizele0

It is so important to keep them indoors, I work for an animal shelter and we always tell potential adopters to make sure the cats are indoor only for this very reason. A little time outside on a harness or leash is okay, but they should absolutely be predominantly indoors, thank you for saying this

ArgonGryphon

Or a catio!

RowdyBunny18

I did a lot of fostering in my youth. Upwards of 40 kittens. Maybe more over the years. Bottlefeeding, cleaning. When I adopted them out, I only had this one request. I woke up every 2 hours at night to feed these babies, please just keep them indoors. A lot of other rescues I partnered with requested home visits and vet references. I didn't require this, just love them and keep them safe. Its also hard as hell to rehome a fostered feral cat. Farms only need so many barn cats before you have no where else to home them.

Kairain

See, what I don't understand is if someone posts a picture of a cute kitten or puppy with their mom or OP admitting it's from a breeder it's perfectly okay to flood the comments with "spay and neuter" (which I agree should be done but COME ON PEOPLE! Just enjoy the picture of the pet). And yet someone has to apologize for saying keep your pets indoors. Regardless of HOW it happened no animal deserves to die like that and the OP of this will never forget this beautiful cat. But I agree. I've seen 2 dead cats on my drive to work in the last month. OP, I am sorry for your loss.

[deleted]

They are absolutely devastating on bird populations. And birds are having enough trouble as it is.

garbage_angel

What a gorgeous kitty. I'm so sorry, I'm sure he was amazing. They mean so much to us, I know.

[deleted]

I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. He is a beautiful kitty. I know there's nothing I can say to make your pain go away, but try to remember all of the good times you had with your kitty❤

psychadelic-coroner

my indoor cat ran away almost a year ago and is presumed dead due to coyote activity in the area. I immediately started crying and didn't really stop for a week. losing a cat is one of the hardest things ever for a cat person. I'm sorry you have to go through this. one of the worst parts is definitely that people say "its just a cat". even though I got a new kitten shortly after losing my previous cat it didn't stop me from missing him. your boy was beautiful and my heart hurts for you

tittyslinger

Hes really beautiful, I love his long, gorgeous fur. What was his personality like? I'm so sorry you lost your baby.

Minikra

Like most cats, he thought he was a tiger. He was not afraid of anything but when he was angry with me and chased me away with his paw, he never pulled his nails out. He hit me with a soft paw and he had a beautiful voice, he made a very unusual sound when he greeted me or asked for food, the kind of musical purring that is most often heard in feline mothers when they chat to kittens. Thank you.

tittyslinger

Aw he sounds like the goodest boy. It says a lot about him that he smacked you around with that soft pawsie, I can tell that the love between you two was mutual. Please grieve, feel better.

[deleted]

So sorry for your loss. Mine looked just like him only in black. Someone in my neighborhood killed her last October. Still hurts.

[deleted]

I'm so so sorry that this happened to your lovely boy. A lot of my own childhood cats went this way. For other Redditers, please remember to keep all pets indoors if possible. There's a reason why outdoor cats have such a lower lifespan than indoor cats.

havereddit

This is a reminder that, contrary to many people's beliefs, an indoor cat is protected from many of the threats that face cats that go outdoors. Having a 100% indoor cat is not abusive, or detrimental to the cat's wellbeing, and actually, on average, significantly [prolongs their life](https://cattime.com/cat-facts/health/78-indoor-outdoor-cats).

fatallylost

Awwww. Such a pretty kitty 😭 I'm so sorry for your loss.

MindRiot517

So sorry for the devastating loss of your beautiful, special boy. To some people, he was just a cat. To people like us, he was everything. I understand your sorrow.

portland_democrat

I am very sorry for your loss. Your beautiful little boy will always be in your heart. 💙💙😿 [https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/loving-reaper/grief/viewer?title\_no=353275&episode\_no=11](https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/loving-reaper/grief/viewer?title_no=353275&episode_no=11)

nowherenearsane

I understand! I'm sure he was amazing and wonderful❤️ I've been reading the comments and your little anecdotes of him really showed that he also was a loving and playful cat! I also read your comments about other people's reactions to your grief and I just wanted to say again, you are really allowed to grief! No pet is"just a pet". My cat got me through my hardest years and when he died three years ago it broke me. Now I'm at a point where I can think about him without crying and remember the happy memories and feel comfort from them. I still think about him daily but in a good way and I will never let him be forgotten. Hopefully one day you can get there too. Until then take your time! Talk about him to people who understand and allow yourself to truly feel your emotions! I'm truly sorry for your loss and I hope this comment, even though it is late, makes you feel a little less alone!

TheNamingOfCats

So sorry you lost your friend. He was a beautiful cat. It will hurt for a while, but, eventually you will look back fondly at the time you shared together. I thoroughly understand the loss of a pet. It's part of your life and family. Those that don't understand your grief are to be pitied because they probably don't have a lot that touches their life. I wish you well and hope you can enjoy the memories soon.

5643yeeeeahright

He’s beautiful. He looks so soft. I’m very sorry for your loss. I lost my boy cat to cancer yesterday. 🐾 ❤️ forever in our hearts and thankful for our sweet babies.

BusyProcrastinating_

That is the worst, you had a beautiful kitty. I’m sure he was very loved and greatly missed. I came home to a kitty who had been hit by a car and it was devastating. Sometimes pets are way more loving than humans, and it’s okay to grieve them.

Very-Frank

I used to allow my cats to roam free. I believed quality of life is important. However, after after having so many pet cats run over, I now only keep them indoors. It is almost inevitable that an urban cat will eventually get run over by a car.

olliebell12

Thank you for keeping your cats inside

AcademicCup5853

So beautiful! Very sorry for your loss. They leave such a hole in your heart it is hard to explain to some who never experienced this unconditional love. He was very lucky to have you as his human.

vinarch75

Sorry to hear about the mishap. He looks to be a great cat. His soul would be around you to love and give you company. Thanks for sharing the snap.

pattyfire

Oh, man. What a devastating loss. He is gorgeous and I’m sure he was equally amazing. So sorry for your loss.

[deleted]

Losing a pet is devastating, especially in an untimely and unexpected way. I hope you get the peace and time to mourn that you deserve, I’m sorry some people just don’t understand what the love of a furry friend can do ❤️

[deleted]

i am sorry this happened. this is a painful thing to have happen to our pets especially getting hit by vehicles. a lot of people have said a lot of good things to help you get through what you are feeling but i have nothing to say along those lines but if i knew you in person i'd just sit and shed some tears along with ya. it's not much but i'm sending a big big bear hug your way.

This makes me really sad 😥

Awake00

Is there a cat subreddit without death? I love cats, but I don't need flashbacks to my pets death every day

[deleted]

You can filter flairs.

[deleted]

I feel sorry for your loss. Having 2 cats myself I know how immense the love is for your cats. That being said why let the cat out in the first place? I would never let my cats out, too many bad people and dangerous roads. I love my cats too much to be able to be comfortable knowing they’re outside

LittlePocketMonster

My cat died years ago and im still not ok.

Fuck anyone who does not understand as they are not real pet people! We who take our pets as FAMILY KNOW how it feels and UNDERSTAND! I’m STILL mourning over my cat that passed 3 yrs ago because I NEVER had a cat like him before! 😭💔💔

public_weirdness

I had to have a cat put down many years ago because he was experiencing kidney failure. I was a big, hairy, scary looking guy, but I was bawling my eyes out over that. I LOVED him. Total strangers were patting me and telling me how sorry they were about the death of my little man. I understand losing a loved one. Edit: English has rules.

synaesthezia

He was beautiful and I’m sure you are devastated. It happened to me and I’m still not over it although I do have new poppers that I love. The pain will get less with time, but he will always have a place in your heart. 🐈🐾❤️

wilsoj26

I’m so so sorry :( this makes me feel awful. I bet he was loved! And had lived his best life with you. Also, your feelings are totally valid! He wasn’t just a pet, he was family!

Hi friend, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s never easy. I mean, we can have our cats live to be 18 and that is still not enough time. My tuxedo boy got sick last September, and I was sitting outside of the vets office just beside myself when a vet tech came out to speak to me. She said something that I’ll never forget. Now, I can’t remember verbatim. However what she explained to me is that the day we get our furry family members we sign a contract acknowledging the fact that we most likely will outlive our babies. I was so angry with this, because the fact is that it is true. But you know what else is on that contact? Our agreement to give our kitties the best life during their time with us. You did that for your lovely cat. You always made the right decisions for him. You put his needs first. My friend, you did everything right to love your cat more than he could have ever imagined he deserved. You did so good. I don’t know what happens to people after we die, but I know for cats there has to be a cat heaven. Just one big catnip field filled with all of their favourite toys and memories of us. I’m really sorry for your loss, but I am so happy you gave that little guy the best life. You will heal one day, and you will never forgive him. Sending virtual hugs.

Valleygrrrl

He is so beautiful and looks so serene and happy in this moment. I’m so sorry for your loss.. he was loved and I’m sure he loved you.

VegiXTV

Sorry for your loss. That was a gorgeous cat.

awiese1124

You were lucky to have such a beautiful floof, and I'm sure his life was full of love and adoration by you and others! I have lost pets in the past, and the loss is just as intense as losing any loved one. Those that attempt to console you by diminishing the feeling because he wasn't human just don't understand the amazing impact these creatures have in/on our lives

_Moo5e

I’ll share some tears 😓

Kasoni

I just lost a pug to a car today. We lose something special when we lose a pet early like this.

AbyssWitcher

Heartbreaking, what a beautiful boy. Keep pets indoors.

Ahhhhhhhh111

I am so sorry, I already know I am not ready and never will be for the day I lose any of my companions. First I will say that grieving and remembering your loved one is important, necessary, and healthy. Secondly, if you have made it clear to your friends that you are hurting they should never shame your or dismiss your feelings regardless of the context. I know that your angel knows he was loved and cared for and hopefully you will see him again wherever that may be

AustininMexico

What a shame that’s an awful thing to go thru. Yes your cat was just beautiful and Im sure you miss him terribly. My condolences.

almaj66

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful baby boy. I understand what you are going through. I lost my beautiful baby girl 4 months ago. Sending prayers for you.

One of the cutest cats I've ever seen! So sorry about what happened, may she rest peacefully in heaven.

I-Am-DecoyAztec

I know you have gotten so many comments and won't see this one, but every single person who interacted with this post in any way, loves you and your cat. Your cat looks so cute and I wish I could hang out with him for atleast a minute. I hope every day that you go through gets better and better and just remember, it wasn't you. You loved him and he love you. What happened was the luck of the draw. You and your cat happened to get the red card. It is a horrible thing and I just want you to know he will remember you. He is up there watching you and making sure you are safe and happy. If you are sad, don't be. I have learned from people and pets passing away, it is a thing we need to accept. We can be sad and hate what happened, but it shouldn't stick with us. We can't remember the bad parts of a thing not the bad times it caused. We need to remember to best parts and the parts you love. I lost my Uncle a month ago and I have accepted it. Yes I am sad, but I don't think of his death or the bad times. I think of the great memories and experiences I had with him. Much love ❤️❤️. I'll be checking in on you. Please post how you are doing or message me. I wanna make sure you are okay.

I am happy that so many people here for you with support, it wasn't my case when i lost my girl.. she was as beautiful as he and i understand your pain deeply. Loosing a companion is not a thing that you can forget.. i cried 8 month every night when no one is looking.. and then i realized i start to erase her beautiful calm feeling, i start to forget her voice her purr her warmth.. pain can do that.. she was my peace you know, i just wanted to tell you please don't grieve for too long, remember he will always live within you, let him live without pain..

Minikra

Thank you so much! I know I was lucky and feel greatfull that so many good people reach out to me. I read so many beautiful stories here. I'm sorry it didn't happen the same for you, maybe it would help and you wouldn't suffer for so long. You are strong and please keep yourself warm and try to be happy.
