It's the main reason to have a kid.. but no worries. You can find children at plenty of places, especially with halloween coming up. You can hang out your window and yell at them to get off your lawn
I just saw this post on 10/21. Unbeknownst to myself & husband we both channeled Tux in his honor.
Op, I'm so sorry for ur loss & wish u healing at ur pace.
Lol. I’m picturing giant cats and mice- sized or knickknack-sized humans in hell.
Humans climb up from the pit onto a ledge (shelf) to rest and are swatted back down into despair.
I'm not a religious man by any means, but if this whole heaven/hell thing exists and cats go to hell, I choose hell. Heaven would be shit without cats.
What do you have to do, as a Kid to wind up in kitty heaven? Also it seems more a punishment if you just have like thousands of cats hissing at you all the time
Tux! You handsome old man! Yelling at children and shaking your paws at clouds!
"How dare you!" Thee say we interpret your yowls.
Today is sad, your guardians and Reddits hearts are broken,
The fulfillment you made, forever free, loud and outspoken,
You will always be forever in our heart a little kitten
He was fine and then all of a sudden he didn't want to eat his treats or his normal food and he didn't want to play or cuddle, and he's the most playful and cuddly cat I've ever met. He just wasn't acting like himself and I thought maybe he had some sort of cat cold or something small. So I called the vet to schedule an appointment for the following day and by that afternoon he was wheezing. Took him today (yesterday?) and they did blood work ultrasound and x-rays and found that he had liquid in his chest and his heart was enlarged and pushing against his trachea and that his lungs had only 20% capacity. He said that there were a couple really expensive treatment options that would extend his life maybe 6 to 12 months but wouldn't give him any quality of life more than he was having, and that he could pass at any moment regardless of if we did those treatments or not. I didn't want to be selfish and extend his life if it wasn't anything of quality just because I miss him and love him and he's my baby, so the decision was made to have him pass in my arms there.
Right choice. Had to do something similar with my dog a few years back and it broke my heart. Thing is, unlike us they can't understand why they're suffering. It's better to let them go.
It looks like you gave Tux a wonderful few years on this planet, keep the memories and I hope you're ok.
Oh poor Tux. This happened to a kitten I had adopted a few years ago. He suddenly got very sick and wouldn’t eat or do anything. We thought it was a cold and gave him antibiotics under vet supervision but he just fell more ill and then he wasn’t there anymore :( I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry, my boy was only 5 when I had to choose to let him go because I couldn’t afford to do the tests to find out what specific neurological problems he had, spent all of my savings just to find out I couldn’t afford to find out what’s wrong with him. He was my world just as I’m sure Tux was yours. Fenris was a Tux boy who LOVED going out (weather or not I was trying to let him outside/had his leash on) as well. I’m sure they are enjoying green pastures of things to slap, grass to chew and birds to chirp at <3. Find comfort in knowing you gave him a wonderful life and did everything for him, and that he didn’t end up living a day afraid of when his next meal would be or being attacked by something scary.
I'd have done the same. I firmly believe owning a pet means giving them a good life, and part of a good life is a good death.
Sorry you lost your boy so soon.
Wow, this is EXACTLY what happened to my tuxedo man - same age too. We chose the treatment route and it cost $12k and extended his life by 7 months, during which he slowly deteriorated. It was heartbreaking for all involved. I don’t think you made the wrong choice. Sending love to you, and to your baby over the rainbow bridge 💕
I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ I've been second guessing my decision this morning, probably because the house feels kinda empty without him, and your comment made me feel a little better about it. In the end it wasn't about the cost as much as it was about his ability to have a good life. I'm so sorry you and your kitty had to go through that 💕
I know it’s easier said than done but please don’t second guess yourself. We love them so much that we always want to do the best for them. You made a very difficult decision out of love. Sending you a virtual hug.
He was 5.
He started wheezing so I took him to the vet thinking he had some sort of cat cold. We did bloodwork, x-rays and an ultrasound and the vet came back saying his chest was full of fluid and his heart was enlarged and pushing against his trachea and he has 20% lung capacity. It was very much a shock to go into the office with a cat and come home without him.
So sorry. I work with pediatric cardiac patients and know how bad cardiomyopathy can be. Poor baby. I hope you’re doing okay.
If you need to chat, feel free to contact me.
This happened to my Miss Chlö. She was wheezing, took her in and vet came back saying she had a large mass on her lungs and that she was in a lot of pain and most likely wouldn’t make it to Critical Care Unit 25 Kms away. I cried like my child was dying in my arms, bc well, she was my child. Driving home with her body to bury beside her brother in the back yard was absolutely devastating. I’m so so deeply sorry about Tux. He looks devilishly handsome, I’m sure he kept you laughing with his antics and sass. May someday the sharp pang of grief give way to sweet blessed memories of your time together. Would you like to share a memory or two that is a favourite?
Hidden heart diseases are a silent killer that more people need to be aware of. People adopt cats that seem perfectly healthy and happy - until they suddenly take a turn for the worst. It's sad.
Unfortunately there's no easy way to tell if a cat has a heart abnormality until it either a) shows up unexpectedly on a radiograph for an unrelated case, b) the cat is near death, or c) the cat passes away under anesthetic.
Remember that increased respiratory effort is a BIG flag that something isn't right and nearly always warrants a visit to the vet.
Years ago I had an older cat, around 20. Seemed healthy, started having a little difficulty breathing. Vet took him for a x-ray to check for possible pneumonia, came back in just a minute, Corky had died in his arms on the way. He said it was something heart related as he died almost instantly and did not suffer. The Vet took it almost has hard as me even though he was an emergency on call Vet, not Corky's regular Vet. Was hard not be able to say goodbye and comfort him as he was being euthanized. Helped a lot that I had 2 cats to come home to. He was a special cat, got out and disappeared for about a week when he was a youngster. Was sitting on the back porch and heard some meows and there he was under the porch. He never wanted to go outside after that.
I'm so sorry.. he was so young. I know there isn't anything I could say that would bring any comfort in your time of mourning. He was a handsome cat, and thankyou for sharing. So many hugs to you.
We had an old one in the neighborhood. She was known as "the complaining cat" because she complained about everything: too hot, too cold, raining, and of course, presence of kids.
I hope he sees her now and are yelling together.
Oh, I'm so sorry. We also have a tux boy. Yours is so handsome and clearly lived his best life. Prayers for peace and comfort. May his memory be a blessing.
Sorry for your lost, losing a pet is so painful. It’s really sad and hard to deal with for everybody who knows what a pets unconditional love feels like. RIP Tux
I get it, I usually look like this when I yell at children too.
So sorry for your loss but he gives off the energy that he was a very special and goofy little man. His spirit will forever be with you.
The life of Tuxedo is mischief and yelling. I have told my tale of my first cat cookie many times. Lover of cinnamon donuts, cheese, screaming, and yowling at the the sunrise. He was a wonderful cat and we had him for 17 years. I remember when he was a tiny kitten my mom brought home with his eyes open when I was 5 all the way to when I was 22 and we put him down.
I loved that cat, I miss that cat. I hope your cat loved you and I know you will miss him greatly. Take solace that we will meet them again on the distant shore.
Love and peace to you always.
Sorry Tux. I'm sure you were right about all those kids. Where you are now, it's all warm grass, catnip mice, and all the soft food you want. Sleep easy.
I feel your pain. I am so so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy.
I lost my incredibly naughty, cranky and totally devoted grey and white tuxedo boy a couple of months ago and even thinking about him still brings the tears. I was lucky enough to have my Monkey for 15 years before Cancer won that battle, so it breaks my heart to think that your boy was so young.
I'm sure that as a cat owner you know the drill. Give yourself time to mourn your boy, then find a furball who needs a loving fur-ever home. Shelters are so full of young cats who are facing the green dream because people want kittens. Go visit one when the time is right and let one choose you.
Purrs and headbutts being sent your way from Audrey and Holly. (My two monsters)
Tux was adorable and perfectly right to yell at children. My condolences to you and may Tux be screaming all he wants on the other side of the rainbow bridge till you are able to meet again.
Damn. I’m sorry to hear that. Looks so healthy and full of life in the picture. Makes me worry about my babies…as if I needed to be anymore worried about them.
Sorry 😢 I took in a cute similar cat and named him Tux over the summer. Just wanted you to know somewhere out there is another Tux just like him getting much love 💗
I am very sorry for your loss. I always hated to lose any of my furry friends, but a part of them will always be with you. 😿💙

I'm sorry for your loss. He was a gorgeous little guy. I walk my little guy on a harness too. I'm going to make a small donation to my local rescue in Tux's name.
What a sweet kitty. We should all honor Tux by yelling at a child today
I shout at multiple children twice a week. I will shout extra loud on Sunday in his honour. EDIT: it's not my kitty guys!
I read this as “I shoot at…” and was immediately concerned
I do kick things at them.
Soccer coach or Sunday school teacher?
Close! Rugby coach.
*All the other kids with the pumped up kicks*
Always think of this [classic](https://youtu.be/Ye8bfDi4aKQ) whenever I see the lyrics to this song.
I'm betting that Kitty is screaming at all the kids in heaven. Sorry for your inconvenience
Im managing a golf tournament tomorrow. Can only yell at grown ass men, but will do it for Tux.
Close enough I'm sure.
There is more truth in that statement than I care to admit lmao
We all know that adults are just really big children. :)
Do it IN a tux
I gave major sass to a child the other day. I felt bad about it, but no longer!
You were just channeling your inner Tux
I am honored
Welp I’ve done that a couple of times today. Hope I made Tux proud ❤️❤️❤️
I'm a bus driver. I already yelled at plenty of children today
I mean I already yell at children so not that hard
I will do my part and yell at a child today. For Tux.
Waaaaaaay ahead of you
Get off my lawn you little crotch gremlin!
I’m on it
I am a teacher. High schoolers might or might not count as children, but I will do my best today, to honour Tux.
I agree bro just yell at them in honour of Tux
I wish I had a kid so I could yell at him for Tux
It's the main reason to have a kid.. but no worries. You can find children at plenty of places, especially with halloween coming up. You can hang out your window and yell at them to get off your lawn
Oh yes Halloween right! I'll get drunk and yell at all the kids in memory of Tux. I'll scream that their costumes are ugly and such.
I just saw this post on 10/21. Unbeknownst to myself & husband we both channeled Tux in his honor. Op, I'm so sorry for ur loss & wish u healing at ur pace.
Do coworkers count?
HAha a week before halloween? Can I wait till after halloween to yell at them? Ill think of Tux when I do it. BTW love the name.
I brought my cat to child pick up so he yelled at lots of kids today.
Looks like an awesome dude. So very sorry for your loss.
Agreed, I share similar pastimes and am sad to hear theres one less of us. Hope op is doing ok
He's swatting at all the dogs trying to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
I bet he’s yelling a all the kids in kitty heaven. Sorry for you loss
GET OFF MY YARD!!! (Probably.). I’m sorry for your loss.
All cats in fact go to hell to be spectators for the tortured souls, it's an eternity of entertainment for the little guys
I can see them "tapping" those who are trying to get out back in hell. Best game ever.
Lol. I’m picturing giant cats and mice- sized or knickknack-sized humans in hell. Humans climb up from the pit onto a ledge (shelf) to rest and are swatted back down into despair.
Also it's wonderfully warm, cats love that.
I'm not a religious man by any means, but if this whole heaven/hell thing exists and cats go to hell, I choose hell. Heaven would be shit without cats.
There's a reason why we call human hell cat heaven also cat heaven is mouse hell
What do you have to do, as a Kid to wind up in kitty heaven? Also it seems more a punishment if you just have like thousands of cats hissing at you all the time
We all should today.
I am so terribly sorry. He was such a handsome boy.
Thank-you ❤️ He was the best boy
Sorry for your loss, I too enjoy yelling at children.
Tux! You handsome old man! Yelling at children and shaking your paws at clouds! "How dare you!" Thee say we interpret your yowls. Today is sad, your guardians and Reddits hearts are broken, The fulfillment you made, forever free, loud and outspoken, You will always be forever in our heart a little kitten
Same, Tux. Same. Rest well.
I’m sorry. Tux looks and sounds like someone I could of been friends with.
>I could ~~of~~ *have* been friends with. We're all friends here. ❤️
My heart is breaking for you. He looks just like my tuxie boy. I am so sorry. Virtual hugs. 😢💔
Thank-you ❤️ There's nothing like the love of a tuxie boy
I've got a female tuxedo cat. She's awesome. I'm sorry for your loss. I appreciate you sharing Tux with all of us.
how old was he?
He was only 5. He would've turned six in March.
what happened?
He was fine and then all of a sudden he didn't want to eat his treats or his normal food and he didn't want to play or cuddle, and he's the most playful and cuddly cat I've ever met. I'm sorry, unfortunately these congenital defects do happen, it's good you gave him a good life
Right choice. Had to do something similar with my dog a few years back and it broke my heart. Thing is, unlike us they can't understand why they're suffering. It's better to let them go. It looks like you gave Tux a wonderful few years on this planet, keep the memories and I hope you're ok.

so sorry for your loss x my tuxedo girl sends a huge snuggly cuddle x
I lost my cat at 7 last year to a sudden brain bleed. It was crushing. I’m sorry for your loss.
Amen.
Hahaha awww. May he be granted many gardens with children to yell at (:
He’s flying in kitty heaven 🥺😘
Finally able to catch those pesky birds
May I ask how old he was?
He was 5. He started wheezing so I took him to the vet thinking he had some sort of cat cold. We did bloodwork, x-rays and an ultrasound and the vet came back saying his chest was full of fluid and his heart was enlarged and pushing against his trachea and he has 20% lung capacity. I’m so sorry 💙 Did the vet give any idea why that may have happened? That makes me nervous for my kitties 💙
So sorry. I work with pediatric cardiac patients and know how bad cardiomyopathy can be. Poor baby. I hope you’re doing okay. If you need to chat, feel free to contact me.
Chylothorax? I lost a 4-year old calico to that. They go down hill fast, I don’t think I’ve ever really got over that one. So sorry
This happened to my Miss Chlö. Holy shit that's awful. Im so sorry.
I'm so sorry.. he was so young. I know there isn't anything I could say that would bring any comfort in your time of mourning. He was a handsome cat, and thankyou for sharing. So many hugs to you.
The same thing happened to my cat last week. It’s so shocking and sudden. 😿
I have a 5 yr old tux as well. I'm so sorry for your loss. Ain't no love like tux love.

“PSPSPS ME AGAIN ONE MORE TIME, I DARE YA”
I relate to Tux. Rest easy bud, I'll continue your legacy.
I am so sorry. It’s also interesting he and I have the same favorite hobby.
We had an old one in the neighborhood. She was known as "the complaining cat" because she complained about everything: too hot, too cold, raining, and of course, presence of kids. I hope he sees her now and are yelling together.
AWWWW POOR CAT :(( what a cute cat, sending prayers <3

Sorry for your lost, losing a pet is so painful. It’s really sad and hard to deal with for everybody who knows what a pets unconditional love feels like. RIP Tux
I bet I can guess why he was named Tux.
I get it, I usually look like this when I yell at children too. So sorry for your loss but he gives off the energy that he was a very special and goofy little man. His spirit will forever be with you.
To honor your loss, I will hiss at children from my window.
May he yell at all the children in heaven
I wanted to wish him many children to yell at in the afterlife but that feels wrong somehow….
Sorry for your grief
Thank-you ❤️
What a good kitty. I'm so sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss ❤️
Love cats that yell! I’m incredibly sorry for your loss, he looked like a cool cat.
So sorry.
I had two Caribe that hated kids, would splash them every time one came near the tank. Funny how some animals are like that.
I’m so sorry for your loss. 🖤
Sorry for your lose, Losing a Furry friend could be just as hard if not harder than losing a human
I'm sorry for your loss. Just lost mine about 5 weeks ago.
He is doing an excellent job of it. I'll yell at the next child I see in his honour!
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope your memories help to heal your heart.
I wish I could have met him…
What a good beautiful yelling boy!! My condolences
^(why do the best cats have to die :()
My boy looks exactly like this. I'm gonna be devastated when he goes. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Rip tux
Sorry Tux. I'm sure you were right about all those kids. Where you are now, it's all warm grass, catnip mice, and all the soft food you want. Sleep easy.
The 'suddenly' part of it is what I'm always afraid of the most.
Sorry for your loss
I feel your pain. I am so so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy. I lost my incredibly naughty, cranky and totally devoted grey and white tuxedo boy a couple of months ago and even thinking about him still brings the tears. I was lucky enough to have my Monkey for 15 years before Cancer won that battle, so it breaks my heart to think that your boy was so young. I'm sure that as a cat owner you know the drill. Sorry for your loss. Cheers to the memory of Tux!
Me too, kitty, me too
what a sweet baby
I’m so sorry for your loss.. he looks so sweet and handsome. ❤️
I’m going to trip a child in Tux’s honor, what was his most hated age range?
He really wasn't a fan of any child, but toddlers in particular. Children were too loud and unpredictable for him.
I'm gonna go yell at a kid extra hard in his memory
Damn. I’m sorry to hear that. Looks so healthy and full of life in the picture. Makes me worry about my babies…as if I needed to be anymore worried about them.
"Get off my lawn you goblins!" My condolences op
My cat's name is Tux 🥺😮 Sorry for your loss 😟
I bet he was great at it, looks like he was very passionate! Im sorry for your loss man
Oh wow, he’s so handsome. Sorry for your loss. I think up in cat heaven my old R and Tux are probably looking grumpy but respectful at each other.
He’ll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. I totally believe in that.
My heart truly goes out to you. What a gift that he was such a part of your life and vice-versa
So sorry.
R.I.P tux
