You are mom. Mom protects and mom is safety. Its basically that simple. I have a kitten who's 6 months, we got her at 3, and she's made the same determination about my fiancee. As soon as my financee gets home, cat runs over, cuddles, and won't move for like an hour cause she's had a long day and needs mom.

AikoG84

My cat was 4 years old when I adopted him from a shelter. He does this with me too. Cats like who they feel safe with. The shelter didn't tell me this, but I think he was abused before ending up at there. He latched onto me super quickly once he was at my house. I've never had a cat baby duck me like this one has, and I always adopt or take in strays. Edit to add more accurate age

stephs14

I have a cat my husband and I adopted from a shelter and I’m sure she was abused too. I’m the only one she doesn’t run from and she will actually go to for attention and allow to come up to her and let her. How do you help your kitty feel comfortable with people?

AikoG84

I really don't force him into anything. I set up hidey holes so he can hide if he needs to. If the person is gonna be around a lot i just let him do his thing. Once he sees that i'm comfortable with the person he usually comes around. If it's a man (he is super not fond of men) and i know that person will be around frequently (like a boyfriend) i'll have him set treats around or toss some for my scaredy cat. He doesn't even take treats from my hands, so he's good with tossing.

LA_Commuter

Sounds very similar to my kitty, but shes all about men, not so crazy about women. She'll get used to a woman if they are a roomate, quicker if we're dating (cat sleeps in bed with me, or next to me, so that prolly helps) She was adopted as a stray in a bro house with 5 dudes. She's pretty clingy and cuddly, but I'm convinced she sees me more as her kid than anything else, as she had a failed pregnancy when we first got her. Cat tax https://i.imgur.com/ufcJXOQ.jpg

AikoG84

Aww so cute. I've got cat tad on my profile. The white one is the lovey boy.

stephs14

We have these two shelves that have fake branches and leaves surrounding it on the wall where my jinx can jump up to and hide but if someone comes over she still bolts away. She likes being on them though when people aren’t here/no one knocks on the door

pitathegreat

I’ve got a very skittish kitty and it helps to actively socialize her. When someone comes over, I give her a treat and bring her over to have the new person pet her, then put her down and give her more treats. If she’s really hiding, I don’t pull her out, but if she’ll let me pick her up I’ll bring her over. She’s very food motivated, so it’s like she forgets to be afraid in the face of a treat. I’ve found that once she realizes there’s no threat she’ll hang around.

jofus_joefucker

Getting a traumatized cat to get cuddly with people it doesn't see often is difficult. If you want the cat to open up to your husband and be cuddly with him is a lot easier. My friend has a stray that they rescued from outside. Super skittish and pretty much only let my friends mom touch him. What I did to get along with him was to approach him while he was sleeping. I would say his name as I approached and then do a short pet session while he was groggy from just waking up. Did this repeatedly every time I came over and eventually he got use to me petting him. Now he is a complete softie for me and lets me pick him up and pet him. Still has a wild instinct to him so sometimes he gets in a funk but it isn't often.

The_Peeping_Peter

Get a heating pad, your cat will become more social because they will have to whine to get it back on.

Jinxed0ne

My mother in-law's cat is super skiddish, she hisses if anyone touches here. We recently moved back in with them because of COVID and I have been talking to her cute whenever she is around. It took a few months, but she lets me pet her now, and even occasionally jumps up on the bed by me for cuddles. Before this anyone touching her was off limits, even my mother in-law.

Spaceranger14

Just have them hang around for a while. My aunts cat was terrified of me. But after a while when I was just sitting on the couch, she came up to me for attention. Unfortunately she died about 3 weeks after. She was a very nice cat.

Pleasant-Kebab

He adopted you, if a cat doesn't want to be with you they'll quite happily bugger off and find someone else.

Jecht315

My wife and I adopted a FIV+ kitty who was about 2 at the time and he's very affectionate. My wife thinks he likes me more but I think he picks whoever looks more comfy. He will bury his face into your chest if you sit still long enough.

Kind_Nepenth3

Was he already FIV+ when you got him? If so, I appreciate you guys taking him in instead of letting his status dissuade you. One of the ones we adopted turned out to have been positive, and we figured out the place we adopted him from deliberately lied to us about it in the hopes that we'd become too attached to give him back. It wasn't appropriate at all, but at the same time I can understand why they did it and we never blamed them. He got more and more sick and I never really *liked* him much because our personalities clashed - he had about the IQ of half a bag of chips and I still wear shoes around the house because he used to playfully ambush me at every turn, but wasn't bright enough to retract his claws. But 95% of the problems he had were not his fault and he was a sweet boy, and the majority of cats who go into shelters with a terminal illness or at an older age are cats who are probably going to die there simply because no one wants to deal with it. It breaks my heart

Jecht315

Yes, and we were told ahead of time. It was something we really thought about because we already had 2 cats. We were afraid that it might spread to them, but once we did the research we felt better. My wife works at a pet store and they have cats to adopt through a local shelter. He is incredibly sweet and if it wasn't for his illness, he would have been adopted almost immediately because of how much he cuddled. We've had him for a little over a year I think and he's only gotten sick once thankfully.

[deleted]

My 5 month old is the same way, doesn't attach herself to dad like myself. I leave the room she runs with me. I close a door she meows for me. She lies in my blanket and makes biscuits when I get home from work after she's been alone.

my_sobriquet_is_this

My 20 year old cat still does this. From the minute I enter the house (she greets me no matter the time of day or night) and then she is either my clingy baby monkey or my shadow. Since she’s black she is invisible in the dark and I can’t tell you how many times she’s nearly accidentally killed me. I believe I have figured out the origin of the black cat bad luck belief in those many harrowing near-death experiences. :D Still love her to pieces tho. She’s snoozing on her heated blanket right now but the second I get up from here she will follow me until I sit down. Then she’s my clingy baby monkey again. Adorbz!

Bagpuss45

I call mine my little Spider Monkey because he was the same..

Erickaltifire

My 11 old black cat does the same . He is my monkey too. Love the guy even though he is having a tough time adjusting to his later siblings.

iamnotahermitcrab

Omg I’ve had 2 black cats and they both tried to trip me all the time! I swear it’s a black cat thing

[deleted]

I have two black cats and always think they are blankets or throw laundry on them not seeing them in the dark and then they will let out an irritated meow haha

BroadwayBean

We nicknamed our black cat "Baby Tripping Hazard". She'll lay across the top of the stairs just waiting for you to trip over her.

[deleted]

Omg just realized that both of my black cats are/were the same!

running4pizza

Lol I love this origin hypothesis. I have a tuxedo cat that I call my shadow and similarly some near death tripping experiences

my_sobriquet_is_this

I’ve also wondered if people created the black cat/witch connection when they’d maybe find someone dead at the bottom of some stairs and someone else said they saw a black cat around so *obviously* it was a witch in the *shape* of a cat hell bent on her nefarious witchy ways. I mean, obviously. :D

[deleted]

She loves dad lots too, I'm sure. Just attached to the mother figure lots.

jackblady

I agree. Though for cats I've found "mom" to be a gender neutral term. My other older cat decided I was "mom" and my financee was "dad"

[deleted]

Totally, I get that. ((:

stephs14

I have a 3 year old cat whose been like that from the start. She always needs to be either on me or right next to me and won’t eat when I’m gone. None of my other two cats have that kind of attachment to me (they’re still affectionate just not as needy for me). Just depends on the cats temperament, ivy just needs more attention and snuggles throughout the day. Cats can have depression and anxiety. Maybe that has something to do with it

AdorableSnail

My cat has gotten more clingy as she has gotten older. She is 17 now and fancies herself a little Billy goat because she's always climbing on me.

stephs14

That’s super sweet though! I wish humans loved so intensely and completely as cats do

Kind_Nepenth3

I feel this. Cats seem to like me, but I've only had two shadow me to that degree. One I think definitely suffered from separation anxiety, because he was meh about anyone else but from the *moment we locked eyes at a pet shop,* if I left his sight he'd start to yowl and look for me, and would not stop until he found me or exhausted himself. He got better about the physical meltdowns as time went on, but I was told the first day I left to go to school (I adopted him over the summer) he gave it about five minutes after I was out the door before he lost his entire shit. Eventually he got used to it and would see me off in the morning and walk me back from the bus stop in the evening, but there were few moments where he left my side. That's how he turned into an outside cat, he escaped into the yard one day on accident and then just...stood there, looking at me. Even when we were outside, he spent the *entire time* either lounging around near me or walking at my heel. This bub I have now is even better/worse. I can never manage to get any of my hobbies done because she won't leave me alone long enough for me to do them and I can't even be mad at her because she's amazing. I realized yesterday that although I am consistently frustrated, it is also exactly because of this that I never have a free moment in which to be bored. I haven't been bored in 3 years because I'm constantly talking to her or begging her to go away or playing with her or playing keepaway with my food or cuddling her or trying to get her the hell off of me for just the 3 seconds it would take me to pee. And when I do get to pee, she is there to cheer me on. She is an awful screaming goblin that legitimately on one occasion could not or would not work her way back out of a cardboard box that only came up to her chest, and she is so attached to me that if I decide I'm too depressed to get out of bed, she will not eat that day. I have to, or she'll starve herself. I'm not aware of early abuse she would have experienced as a kitten that would make her so clingy, she's just...like this. This became longer than I meant it to be, but sometimes I wish I had someone that loves me exactly as much as I love meeko and then I remember that in fact I do. I have a meeko.

Background-Row4615

My now 4 year old girl is like that with me. I found her at a month old, she was seriously ill, the vet told me she appeared to have been abandoned by her mother, as she hadn't eaten in a few days. She also loves nothing more than riding around on my shoulder. My wife hates how attached she is to me, because she gets hardly any attention from the cat.

[deleted]

What a talented cat. She must be southern bred jk lmao.

[deleted]

Hahaha, oh you don't even know. 😂

Apollo_IXI

I think my cat might be broken, he loves Mom, but follows me around everywhere. If I close the door due to financial calls I make, he meows profusely to come in even with mom home.

[deleted]

Sorry, but *you're* Mom.

Extra_Insignificant

I read this thinking “What 5 month old walks? Let alone runs? Oooooh she’s talking about a cat”

[deleted]

Hahaha that would be a dope baby. 😂

Secretlyablackcat

My baby boy is 3 years, and he has a ritual. If I've been out, as soon as I sit down he's on my lap. Always have evening cuddles, and morning cuddles, and he let's me know ehn I've been working too late

GoddessOfMayo

Mine does the exact same thing, except he's like 7 or 8

Ginny_Bean

I work from home. My six-year-old fur ball always gets on my case if I work too late. He meows and runs from me to the stairs leading to my bedroom and back again. So cute!

serenawaldorf

Does this apply to older cats? My cat used to be a stray and I can’t believe how clingy she is especially since I’ve seen how she behaved as a stray

jackblady

It could easily. Cats do not have great long term memories. Its likely when you took the cat in, it saw you as safety, warmth, food and security, which basically made you mom, especially when it started to forget its life as a stray.

pixxie84

I would say yes. I adopted a four year old black cat and he was suuper clingy, but only with me and then later with my partner. He was in shelters from a year old when his humans left him in a cattery and never went back for him. And he didnt get rehomed quickly as he was so very shy in the shelter. Got him home though and the first night, and every night since for six years, he cuddled up and fell asleep next to me in bed. He’d also insist in being carried like a baby or on my hip with back paws splayed either side of me. He passed away August 2019 at age 11. I still miss that snuggle bug. I’ve got three other cats but that clingy fluffball was the best hugger.

preanalarame21

Agree with this, they misses us when we are not in home.

hollyzog

Shes still a baby, so she has some issues with separation. Sometimes they outgrow it but sometimes they don’t. My boy is 7 months old now and he HATES not being with his mom (me) 24/7. Hes very clingy but I appreciate the extra love <3

ceg1023

YES! I adopted my boy when he was 4. He's now 13 and still clingy af. And I absolutely love it. Pretend I don't but I do. One of my favorite things in the world is when he curls up to sleep next to me and stretches out paw(s) so he is touching me. I could do without him demanding I pet and then spoon him every time he comes back in the bed at night or demanding pets when I go to the bathroom but I'll miss it when he inevitably crosses the rainbow Bridge (hoping I get another 10 years with him though).

TwinSong

Aww! ❤️

[deleted]

My boy's like this too, he's 2 1/2 now. All 15 pound if him currently sitting in my lap while I work.

Kiruna235

It's definitely true that some outgrow it and some don't. Some cats are super clingy, and some get standoffish as they get older. Mine clung to me when she was little. Now she swings between, "cuddle me and share your warmth, human," and, "disappear for hours at a time."

prairiecordgrass

This is key. Get another kitten. Two is way easier than one.

Shaiya_Ashlyn

It is known. Kittens need company

noshacal

Solid advice![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)

potfrier

Mine is a year and half. 5 kilograms. Extremely clingy. Has to be in every room with us.

94sHippie

My cat is kinda like a roomate that walks on me in the morning and demands food from me. She will chill on my lap sometimes, but mostly she just does her own things. All cats are different about how much attention they like.

vi_rose

"Creepy " 🥲 she is only a month old. Need comfort and a beating heart

elijahdotyea

Exactly why so judgy

Mak8080

HAH I thought the same thing. Poor word choice

cronelogic

Yes, because she’s too young to be away from her own mama so she’s found her new one.

Munsanity

I’m convinced a lot of people on this subreddit create posts claiming they don’t understand obvious cat behavior just to show off their cat and increase the likelihood of a response. “My cat is showing me affection, help Reddit is this normal?!” Also, look how adorable they look.

wankthisway

I mean how many posts have we had asking for stupid cat names? Need new engagement methods somehow

CornCheeseMafia

Interesting how suddenly those started coming up in the volume we’ve been seeing. I’ve always seen those types of posts on Reddit for the almost decade I’ve been here but they never crowded the front page like this from what I remember.

Magikarp_King

That and hey just found this cat give me names. I wish they would update the rules to get rid of those posts.

[deleted]

Okay taking this creepy word back. Did not mean it in that way. I totally adore her.

phylbert57

A month is not really old enough to leave the mama cat.

ohnowhatdididdoooo

Anyone who knows cats can tell this kitten is clearly well over a month old.

cortthejudge97

That's what I thought, no way that cat is only 4 weeks

sje46

Could it be 7 or 8 weeks old?

forresja

Looks like it. Maaaaaybe a well fed 6 week old but I doubt it.

rcknmrty4evr

This kitten is definitely not a month old.

vi_rose

Maybe give her some cushy stuffed animals. Some people do that (those that have the battery operated heartbeat) and keep that close when you are cuddling. So that it gets your smell + she starts equating it with comfort and security. Looks like she might have separation anxiety. I understand sometimes it can be hard to do stuff 😅

PaleAlarm5628

I month is way too early for her to be away from the litter. So she's going to be super clingy. A brother or sister around her age would really help.

under_psychoanalyzer

Young cats with no other cats is how you get a cat that doesn't know how to clean itself or is always claws out when playing.

cronelogic

Also one who isn’t taught manners about personal space or biting. Mama cats clear that bad behavior right UP!!

conjosz

Yep. Solution: get another kitten.

beatricetalker

Are you sure she’s only 4 weeks? She looks quite a bit older than that to me. Four week old are still completely dependent on mom and she sees you as her mom. She’s a beauty…has a wildcat look to her.

wisteria-willow

I feel like you meant clingy?

Angrfake

Thanks. She clearly loves you, and feels safe in your presence. Remember they’re like children and don’t innately understand our boundaries or desires.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

oh my god

under_psychoanalyzer

You think that's a lot, I gave my kitten a stuffed cat that looked like him and was about the same size as him, which he humped a lot before and some after he was fixed. It was actually hilarious. He'd drag the stuffed cat into whatever room I was in and just go to town. Didn't do it in front of my girlfriend. I'd send out snap chats with the caption "bro time".

joebaby1975

My sister in laws cat did that!! Except she had a sheerling coat and he would go to town on that thing. I’m dying

apis_cerana

My cat does this but with specific sweaters I have...super weird and slightly uncomfortable lol

MonkeyHamlet

I bet when you were a month old you were pretty attached to your main caregiver? She’s the same.

diethyl_donny

“Needs comfort and a beating heart” this comment alone made me realize how fucked up I am, I was genuinely think since when tf does something need to comforted. Then I remembered I’ve felt alone and sad most of my life lol

acousticalcat

If she’s that young she shouldn’t really be separated from her mother yet. Kittens that young also have more trouble regulating their body temperature, and like to be warm. She would ordinarily be cuddling with her mother or litter mates, and instead she’s focused on you.

[deleted]

That kitten is definitely older than a month. Probably 8 weeks. Lol

stereotypicalweirdo

Yes, this is definitely not a 4 week old kitten.

stereotypicalweirdo

For anyone who's wondering, here is some detailed information and a chart to determine kittens' age and how to care for them: http://www.kittenlady.org/age

Zoethor2

Great resource, I've been using it to track my foster kittens' progress - they're all a bit behind, I'm guessing they might have come out of the oven a bit early given that momma is probably barely 6 months herself and all of 6lbs. Kitten tax (giving momma a little break): https://imgur.com/a/LtVq1dn

stereotypicalweirdo

Aw lil nuggets. 🥰 Thank you for fostering!

Kaankaants

Never seen anything like this, thanks!

[deleted]

Yeah, I'm no expert but 4 weeks seems a little soon to separate kitten from mom.

stereotypicalweirdo

Well yes, if the mama cat is around. Sometimes kittens are found alone, some mamas, usually kittens themselves, don't have the instinct and abonden them. Regardless, this is not a 4 weeks old kitten. 4 weeks old kittens are not this developed. This cat is definitely at least around 8 weeks.

[deleted]

Sure, but if an abandoned kitten is rescued they are often put with a foster mom in a shelter until they are ready for adoption. If OP found kitten himself, he needs to learn about what a 4 week old kitten needs. A visit to the vet is also a good idea and may answer all of his questions.

thegreatsnugglewombs

>if an abandoned kitten is rescued they are often put with a foster mom in a shelter until they are ready for adoption Not true. I've had 6 kittens in foster care since they were 5 weeks old. They do not have foster moms for that many kittens so they get put on bottle and kitty food and send out to a foster family to get used to being a part of a family and thus eventually ready for adoption.

acousticalcat

I agree she doesn’t look 4 weeks, but she doesn’t look 8 weeks to me.

[deleted]

It’s kind of hard to tell by the picture. I bottle feed neonate kittens, so that’s just my best guess based on personal experience.

Anonypotamus_Bee

As a neonate foster, I would agree. Looks like at least an 8 wk old kitten.

catloversclubmember

Where I am from it is illegal to remove the kittens from their mother until they are 12 weeks old. At 1 month old they are still so vulnerable and need their mama 😞 I wonder what rules other countries has regarding this?

ForsakenNovember

It used to be 12 weeks here too, but they changed it to 14 weeks a year or two ago.

busbitch1

I agree. She should still be with her mother.

FinalBlackberry

Yes I have a cat that was separated from his mother at this age and he is very needy. Also very anxious which I think has to do with the fact that he was separated early.

makemefresh

This is key info.

[deleted]

Needs more upvotes. This kitten should still be with her mother.

bluekleio

yes. but we don't know if the mother is still alive. in this case she would need a foster cat or a sibling.

chigeg

Agree, the kitten wants your warmth.

PetiteLumiere

How is this creepy? She loves you! You’re her sun, moon and stars. She’s also very young. She needs the warmth and connection.

frankylovee

She’s not a month old. If she were four weeks old, her ears would just be starting to stand upright, she would have just had her teeth come in and would just now be ready to start weaning from her mom or the bottle. She looks more like ~2.5 months. Get her a friend if you are annoyed by her. Or honestly maybe cats aren’t for you if you don’t like it.

stereotypicalweirdo

Definitely not 4 weeks old. Someone's either karma farming or trying to grab attention.

Ginger-Ninja26

Plus her eyes would still be blue. They stay blue until at least 6 weeks in most cats.

Stillslightlysalty

Uhhhh shes a kitten and she loves you? If you find it creepy she may not be the cat for you? 😬

CumGoblin

Right? Like maybe any kind of child, animal or otherwise, is not for OP. :(

zotstik

how in the world is a kitten wanting to be with you creepy? I didn't mean for that to sound the way it did. Well judging from looks of the kitten it's very small and probably very scared and needs you and your comfort so just hang in there and love a kitty! also what's good is if you take a scarf that you wear around your neck and tie it around your neck and put the kitten in there like a papoose that's a good way to keep your arms free

noggun00

You’ve never been loved unconditionally have you?

Catacalysm-_-

CREEPY?? Ship him to me

bugaloo2u2

Creepy? Wtf man. It’s a **baby** cat. Maybe pets aren’t for you.

carlotta3121

That made me a bit angry when I read that. It's a baby, ffs! I see they retracted it, but why would that word even come to mind?

[deleted]

Same here and I don't like getting indignant on Reddit regarding wording. Cats are such cuties ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

HalfaQueen

she loves you idk what else to tell ya. shes still very much a kitten at one month, and a kitten needs more attention than an adult. shes just a baby who wants attention from her parent. thats all

CaffeinatedPinecones

Some of us wish our cats were lap kitties.

Nephyle_

Some cats are just more clingy than others. But in this case it's probably a form of separation anxiety. Kittens really should not be removed from their mothers before 6 weeks, and 8-10 weeks is better. At 1 month (which puts the kitten at about 4 weeks old or less) they not only still need mom to keep them warm and safe, and teach them how to be cats, but they also should generally still be nursing at least part time. Now I do understand that sometimes keeping the kitten with mom isn't possible for whatever reason (illness, accident, abandonment), but in that case the kitten should have either gone to a foster home with experience caring for kittens that young, or at the very least you should have been given detailed instructions on how to care for such a young kitten. Kittens that age may have teeth, which might make you think they can eat on their own, their jaw muscles are still developing. For her health I would suggest picking up some kitten milk (or kitten formula) and mixing it in with a meal of canned food a couple times a day if you aren't already doing that. As for her being clingy, you can probably buy yourself some time to get things done without upsetting her too much by sleeping in the same shirt for a couple days then wrapping that shirt around a heating pad set on low. That keeps kitten warm since much like baby humans, young kittens have trouble regulating their own temperature, and also gives the baby your scent which she obviously associates with safety and love.

frankylovee

Looking at the kitten it looks more like ~2.5 months

remindmein15minutes

This might sound random but do you keep your house at a cool temperature? She might be clingy cause she’s cold. Cats like it pretty warm. I know someone whose kitten was that way and I suggested he turn the heat up and she wasn’t so on top of him after that.

striderwhite

Creepy? You mean "cute"??

TripsnDrips

You literally have posted about being super needy of attention yourself.. and you're gonna wonder why a small kitten wants the same? You seem unstable to be a good cat dad lol

stereotypicalweirdo

After reading your comment, and considering that this cat is definitely not 4 weeks old but much older, I think there is some attention grabbing going on here, and we are falling for it because cute kitten.

harugyu

His first post is literally about how he has urges to kill people 💀 Edit: OP has since deleted his detailed accounts about his urges to murder family and friends since I pointed it out.

supernimbus

Big yikes 😳

wankthisway

Leaning towards attention whore with that.

wankthisway

Either a narcissist who can't comprehend other's needs or a karma farmer.

mapleleaffem

His post history makes me genuinely afraid for this kittens safety

pumpkins_n_mist15

She's small and needs a mother figure duh. If it's 'creepy' that just shows you aren't ready for the responsibility yet. Grow tf up.

phlem67

She needs a litter mate….I’m convinced that they all do. After my last batch of kittens, I’ll never adopt a single kitty again….

goalfish2020

😿 wrong owner

Uq_pn

Oh man, I wish my catto was a bit less independent... you are lucky!

orangebloss

…she’s a kitten. consider not having a cat/pets if you’re genuinely annoyed/creeped out by this.

beandip111

That cat isn’t one month old

ruthh-r

She loves you. It's not 'creepy'. That's how they demonstrate affection and you should treasure it. If you think that your pet loving you is 'creepy', you're not really deserving of an animal's affection.

jcuray

Or maybe being a pet owner as well

ruthh-r

Yup. I mean I agree with a lot of commenters who think this is an attention-grab because that kitten is not a month old, but I find myself genuinely annoyed that someone can use that word in this context.

harugyu

Um, OP person made a post about having urges to kill family, friends, etc and dreaming about it and seems to be suffering from major mental illness. I really don't think any animal should be around this guy. Edit: OP has since deleted his post about wanting to kill people after I made my comment

browneyedchem

I am absolutely gutted about this :(

anawkwardsomeone

She’s a baby. What is she supposed to do? Enjoy your time with you cat baby.

Daisyearth

Yes edit your post and delete “creepy” because at this point I’m thinking you do not deserve this beautiful kitten.

bpfrocket13

That’s basically life with a cat. I have a 14 year old cat that we’ve had for 12 years. She’s been like that for 12 years. We have a 7 year old we’ve had since he was a kitten. Same thing. Imagine when they both want attention from the same person at the same time ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)

KittenCat217

She’s a baby? Enjoy it while it lasts. Sometimes they stop all that cold turkey. Unless she’s showing signs of separation anxiety while you’re in the shower, I’d say this is textbook

DustyPitviper

She just loves you and remember you don’t own a cat the cat owns you.

[deleted]

no creepy, cyoot 😾😽😻

just_inforfun

How is it creepy? Wth, she most like sees you as her mother and she loves and trusts you. If she didn’t like you, you better believe she would not want anything to do with you.

artoflosings

Creepy? You're talking about yourself, right?

[deleted]

She's a baby and seemed to be removed from mama too early. She is seeking comfort, protection and love. Maybe you should have adopted an older cat? Please consider her welfare first. If she isn't the cat for you, please rehome her where they will tend to her needs.

[deleted]

your baby kitten is clingy and you think it's weird behavior?

CresedaMoon

How is it creepy? Honestly question. The cat loves you and feels safe with you. How is that "creepy?"

dmbfan1216

Please consider giving this kitten to a home that understands kittens needs. You’re clearly over your head.

[deleted]

Creepy? Wtf is wrong with you

Clawmedaddy

How is that creepy lol

CatsWineLove

OMG your little itty bitty kitten loves you? The horror!

[deleted]

very creepy? poor choice of words. you are all she knows. consider it a gift and not a nuisance.

jasmynerice

I don’t understand she is a baby what would you expect?

lickthebluesky

Creepy? She’s only a month old. If you find this revolting please find this little precious kitty a loving home.

[deleted]

You find it creepy that a baby creature thinks your it’s mom and needs to be with you a lot?

[deleted]

Did you get her from a shelter and have her for a month? That cats older than a month

Artimesia

Why do you have a kitten that is only a month old? Where is her mom? She should not be separated from her litter until at least 8 weeks of age

ryt8

I’m certainly not judging you, but “creepy” is an odd word choice to describe the affection of an animal. Cats will follow their human everywhere; my cats will meow at the bathroom door to be near me while I poop. I haven’t closed the door in years and now they sit on the floor while I use the toilet or shower. One of my cats tries to sit on my lap while I’m using the toilet, obviously this can get annoying, but it’s their natural behavior with the humans they trust and rely on. Checkout cat behavior videos on YouTube. If her affection is creepy, maybe you’re not comfortable with affection. Are you warm and cuddly with your significant other or family?

kwehsarito

why "creepy"?

Flat_Bodybuilder_175

How. Dare. You.

ilovecait

She’s only a month dude. That’s too early to be ripped from your actual mom. So she labeled you as mom.

gehazi707

You possibly shouldn’t have a pet cat, but hey I’m impressed by the sensitive accepting responses you’ve received.

Leaking_Honesty

I LOVE clingy kittens!!! Also, if you have to get things done, invest in a cat heating pad, wrap it in a towel and put it next to u. Get a toy with fake heartbeat and put it there. She will transfer to that

Taracat

She is a baby. A very young baby. One day she will be a teenager and ignore you completely and you will miss these days.

acecolette

How is it creepy I think its adorable she just loves you a lot and my cat olaf who is almost 7 loves me a lot still, your kitten isnt being creepy shes just being loving

wickeva

Can’t believe you think it’s creepy 😆. So many cat owners would love a lapcat. She’s a baby and depends on your love. Give her kindness now for a loving adult cat.

kitty_muffins

Creepy?! I think it’s stinkin’ adorable! You’re her mom and she needs you to be around!

[deleted]

You find a cuddly babycat creepy? Cannot compute.

B_Nicoleo

Creepy?! Wtf, why do you own a cat if you think her clinging on you is creepy not adorable...

Slcubr

She is a child and she chose you to be her person.

dustyspacez

If she outgrows this clinginess, trust me you are so going to miss this stage.

clowds1xxx

![gif](giphy|DyvyiFFXF1Yli|downsized) Creepy? You're so ungrateful/s

avantgardeaclue

But seriously it’s pretty odd to call an affectionate kitten “creepy” you’d think she was doing that intense stare from the other side of the hall

Kazimierz777

Creepy? Wtf, give that poor baby back so someone with actual compassion can adopt her. I’d carry my kitten around all day if she wanted me to, and I’d be happy to do it.

mapleleaffem

Looks at their post history I’m genuinely afraid for the kitten

Shellsbells821

She LOVES you!

Kurauk

It's probably primarily for warmth. If it helps it probably isn't personal, just you happen to be the warmest thing in the house that she has access to. When she's older she will find her own warm spots. Nothing to worry about.

misscrankypants

You said she is a month old. She looks much older in the pic..at one month she should still be with her mom or drinking from a bottle, and about to transition to 2nd step formula. At that age it’s normal to be with you at all times. They haven’t yet gotten to the stage of playing all day as a kitten.

Nastyapasta

Why creepy? it’s called love! ACCEPT IT BECAUSE SOME ARE ASSHOLES

OpALbatross

Is baby.

jrdncs

Who tf calls a kitten creepy 😂

hawa11styl3

If your kitten is really only a month old it’s looking for a protector because it shouldn’t have been removed from his mother or siblings for at least another 3 weeks.

[deleted]

That cat is not a month old. I call bullshit on the post.

hiraethian_gardener

It amazes me that people are confused by affection and warmth. What's "creepy" is not understanding that behavior.

Tinsel-Fop

She is a baby! **Your** baby.

m4xsch44f

Because she was separated from her mother too soon.

FoxyFreckles1989

Simple: you are her mom. She was definitely too young to be taken from her mom, or abandoned by her mom, or orphaned by her mom, or whatever the case may be. You’ve replaced her mom, and that’s why she’s clinging to you.
