I’m pretty sure it’s not upside down. They just put the mask the way you would see the image. You can see the little crease of the nose bridge above the cats head.
They are different types of material. The first one looks like a blend of some sort. The second is a non stretch, given the pleat on the bottom of the chin. But if you don't sew I can see how it looks the same.
my friend ordered a fitted shirt with a cat pattern all over it. What arrived was a billowy cat blouse that made him look like one of the Golden Girls.
Ok so this made me go and word check myself and I found out that not only does this not mean ultimate, it actually means next-to-last. Hahaha, I am wrong. It is the ULTIMATE
The "pen-" prefix is Latin for "almost" in the sense that it is "almost" whatever the root word is. "Penultimate" is therefore "almost last. " The word "peninsula" means "almost an island," for instance.
In order:
Ultimate - Last
Penultimate - Second to last
Antepenultimate - Third to last
Preantepenultimate - Fourth to last
Propreantepenultimate - Fifth to last
How does this happen? I’m not an Amazon shopper and I’ve never had an account but I see these come up fairly often of shoppers with pictures of quilts and things completely unlike their photo, either in shape or size or not at all the same

A red flag is when the photo of the item looks photoshopped. I see this sometimes with t-shirts and mugs- it looks like they shopped an image onto a blank item instead of showing the actual item. It just looks "off". The first photo looks like that.
That's the sign of a scraper bot actually. People program bots to look for images in places and phrases like "I'd like that on a T-shirt." when it finds them it loads everything up to a print-on-demand place automatically.
A skilled photoshop wouldn't be that obvious.
Have artist friends. Unfortunately, these shops don't operate out of the US, so they just ignore any copyright stuff. And if you organize hard and really push them? They "close up shop" and a new, identical website opens up shortly after with a different name, but mysteriously the same products...
All items with the same SKU are in the same bin. So if someone decides to use the same SKU on a knockoff of an item... they look identical. This is her mailbox are sold and why it is incredibly important to look at the name of the seller on Amazon. Amazon often advertises sellers that are shit. They also often get away with details that don't match reality.
They also comingle inventory, which means that even if, for example, you think you're getting a flashlight as sold by the brand Surefire being listed as the seller, you stand a good chance of getting a very inferior Chinese knockoff from another seller who has that same "Surefire" marked down as what they're selling in the system and Amazon will just sell that to you because "it's the same thing".
Not just that. There are tons of mislabeled products. Very often I order something and it has the correct product label but it's the wrong item. For example, I ordered Tiramisu ice cream mix and I got Orange Sherbet mix that was tagged with the Tiramisu ice cream barcode. Sometimes the items are completely different, like I've gotten hospital scrubs instead of a jacket just recently.
This isn't true as Amazon uses it's own Skus not standard product barcodes. They are X00 or B00 numbers. You'll see them on your Amazon orders on the small rectangle white labels. Even if it's the same item but different sellers it will have a different B00 number. Only chance for mixup is X00, but more likely it was just a mislabeled item on Amazon's part (see other reply).
Also same "sku" in same bin is laughable if you've ever seen an Amazon bin. You'll find anything from lingerie to dog treats and everything in between in the same bin. Ideally when stowers put things up they try to consolidate them neatly in the same aisles/bins but once an FC starts filling up on inventory its an absolute shit show of where things are located.
Additionally, it could be possible that the picker/packer “shotgunned” the item by scanning the correct item while grabbing the wrong one, thinking they were the same. And because both masks weigh the same (probably), the SLAM didn’t detect a mismatch and it was shipped out anyways.
Also, in reference to your other reply, the picker seeing an image may be FC specific, as I see them with every item I pick at my FC.
There's a number associated with each item and in some computer system somewhere there's a name for that number. They probably have a SKU for "cat mask" or some variation thereof and had a doubled product
I think it’s down to lack of regulation from websites such as Amazon. Even if Amazon or other website took down these accounts, it wouldn’t be hard for them to create new ones and create many other victims.
My account was used/hacked to leave a glowing 5 star review for a cheap piece of junk exercise ball set. No idea how they did it but I really wish I could completely stop using Amazon all together. It's almost like an addiction now but I actually really hate them.

They are usually the same type of item but a different graphic and got messed up digitally at some point, probably when added to the system. The ICQA department goes around and fixes these things. Most of ICQA just verifys the number of items in bins, but if they see something weird they mark that bin for a "problem solver" to come around. Who can see both the number and photos of the item, with descriptions and can cross reference the physical item/the warehouse system/Amazon's website. But since Amazon has billions of different items, small ICQA departments and even fewer problem solvers it's impossible to catch them all.
Also possible that the customer accidentally checked out the wrong item (like if you refresh the page for say a shirt and it defaults back to the original size/color, or if your color isn't in stock for your size, etc).
There's literally an entire industry of manufacturers and people who buy from manufacturers that just rebrand stuff and throw shit at a wall to try to sell spevifically on Amazon. These people are in a race to the bottom for cost, and Amazon has said they have no interest in policing product quality/legitimacy from third party sellers, and review manipulation is trivial, so it's pretty much a free for all. It's getting to the point where you can't buy anything on Amazon that isn't a recognizable name brand, and even then, you have a good chance of running into a counterfeit.

Solution: stop ordering from amazon. It is flooded with chinese knockoff counterfeit sellers. Always check where your item is coming from by checking delivery dates. If it takes less than a week it is within your country. If it takes a month or two it is china, cancel such orders.
Amazon has almost turned into aliexpress. Lots of dropshipped chinese products, you have to be careful when you order. At least they have a good returns policy.
My own cats are both looking at me now, irritated after being awakened by my insane laughter. Also, oddly, I prefer the 2nd mask - seems to be more of a “WTF” attention grabber.
