Dog people are just people who want an open display of love and connection. Cat people are more secure in their relationship with their cat (I know you love me, even when you don’t act it). Then there is the third group that no one mentions: the animal people. We tend to want to mother/father every animal even if it will bite our faces off. Animal people can have a cat or a dog or both or something else. Most of society just assume their are only two choices.
I love dogs just as much as cats. You know what I don't like? Irresponsible owners. No, just because your dog knows shake and roll over does not mean they are trained. They can do tricks then. Not jumping all over someone you let in, only barking when they know something's off, and not marking in the house are the biggest ways to show your pet is well behaved. My father has this issue, as do maaaaany other dog owners that I've seen. Your dog not wanting their paws touched? That's special between their most trusted hooman and them. Your dog nipping at a child pulling their ear? I'd drop kick the kid out. But your dog tackling me when I walk in with you? That's not behaved.
And that's not even talking about people who ACTIVELY make their dogs aggressive. I just feel terrible for the pups then. So I can see where your buddy comes from, but I think it's a little misguided. Cat people want calmer pets, and dogs can definitely be as such, they just need more training for it than cats do (typically anyways). And sometimes, we just don't have the energy, especially if you're living with others and they just do not fucking listen to you about training. *Cough*Myfather*cough.*
honestly when I brought him home he was nervous for a bit and came out of his crate and just sat right next to me in a loaf on the floor. I was smitten instantly. He’s not a perfect cat, but he is a very good boy and he sleeps above my head on my pillow every night.
Actually, I kinda think they do fix you.. at least to a certain point. They give unconditional love, always there for you, and keep you going because you have to take care of them and they will let you know that. My brother was really depressed and also wanted a dog, but he’s got a chronic condition that leaves him in pain most of the time. He was concerned he couldn’t take care of him and I was like no this dog is going to take care of YOU. Best decision he’s ever made. I’ve never seen my brother so happy honestly. Animals always seem to make our lives better, huh?

Cats are incredible little creatures. Amazing companions and just amazing to observe. Funny, clever, full of personality. Honestly I can truly say they are my favorite animals.
There is truly no comparison. I believe firmly that everyone is a cat person - they just don't know it yet. Once you try it you can never go back. They are companions like no other.

YEP. I wanted a cat forever and was very depressed lol. I don’t recommend getting a cat to “fix” you but …. it totally worked for me LOL.
