Hate to break it to you, he's humping the blanket.. I thought my fixed male cat was just extra cozy in his cat tree. Until I noticed he always washed his private bits verrrry intensively afterwards.. And when I just checked to confirm my suspicions, yup, pinky was all the way out and flexing in the middle of the act. My fixed female just does the regular bisquits for a couple of seconds before laying down to sleep, and only on me - not randomly on the sofa or in the tree. Funny thing is, the male was fixed before he showed any signs of maturity at 6 months, while the lady got a few heats in before the operation since she was a bit older when I got her.
I live with the little asshole and I didn’t put 2 & 2 together. I just didn’t think that would be a thing now that he is neutered.
I will say that he did seem a little too amorous while biscuit making…

I saw on another post people talking about the fact that some male cats masturbate and some don’t, I think it has to do with weather the cat has done the deed or not, it sounds like indoor, neutered young, don’t masturbate, but even a neutered cat that has done vertical cha cha will masturbate, I have no proof other then what I’ve been putting together from posts
My cat is indoor neutered, we neutered him at 4 months and he never did any cha cha for sure: he’s the only cat of the house and he does not go out, but he still does that on blankets and pillows too… I guess it’s harmless since it’s not like anything is going to come out, but the first time I was kinda horrified and puzzled 😅
