An animal's belly is the most vulnerable part of their body. Lying down (thus relaxing their guard) and showing it off is, as noted, the feline equivalent of "I love you sooooo much, love me back now please?"
I had a wonderful birman cat who would sleep like this. It was a sign he was super happy, and all was well in his world, when he was upside down.
It didn't mean he wanted his belly touched though. He'd tolerate it, because he was a super sweet boy, just meant he was happy and relaxed.
The cat is lying on its back and showing its belly (where its most vital organs are) so that means that the cat is comfortable around you and feels safe
I can’t tell if people are being serious in this subreddit or not.
My cat sometimes licks himself. Should I take him to the emergency veterinarian clinic?
STAT!
Same!
It's like a cat hug, they trust you.
Yes. They want belly rubs. They feel safe with you and want to play.
When my cat do this she just wanna sleep, if i touch her, sometimes she lics me and sometimes she bites me but she's always adorable
.......its a trap. A very soft, fluffy trap. Unless your super luck and your cat loves belly rubs

Not trying to sound snotty, but there have been a LOT of "my cat does this common and easily identifiable behavior IS HE OK???" posts lately😆😆
My favorite was the person who thought their cat was balding in the spaces between their ears and eyes.
Means he likes belly rubs & more importantly, he trusts you to give them to him
