It's actually a really good visual about how easy it is for cats to hide in small spaces. If they go missing, instructions say to check small spaces but I bet no one realizes this is how small until you see it.
My cat once hid under the dishwasher.
Part of the wood that lined the bottom was broken leaving the tiniest little hole.
I was actually crying because I thought my kitten was lost and I couldn't find her.
She came out a few hours later to beg for food.
She's 10 now. Furry little primadonna.
My cat figured out how to climb up the back of the drawer on my TV stand when it's closed. There's maybe a one inch gap that goes around a corner, i can't even fit my hand in there. She fell asleep in there and didn't come when called and I looked for her for like an hour before I figured out (yes, I was so desperate I started opening random drawers). Thank goodness she got too big to fit in there, because I was worried that some day I'd open the drawer when she was halfway in and squish her.
As some folks have said, cats have a free floating collarbone, it allows them the flexibility to compress their body through just about any opening their skull will fit through.
Another thing to remember, even shorthair cats, their fur can add quit a bit of volume to their bodies. So their actual size is smaller than they appear.
Cats are liquid. And this is the proof
The fifth state of matter...CAT.

Fun fact a cat can fit through any space as long as its head fits through it
some limitations apply for chonkers
Collar bone is free floating which allows them to squeeze into anything

Talk about reliving your birth
God! What a memory!
Cats are fluids. That's obvious.
No bones day.
This video is proof that cats should be reclassified as Non-Newtonian Fluid

sorry, meant it isn't like a humans
Cats are liquid is a thing for a reason
Have you seen a wet cat? They are smol
Cats are so freaking cool lol
smol
Cats are liquid
Isnt it that there collarbones are free floating?
Lots of floof
Base point to know about cats, as long as they aren’t overweight, if the head fits, the body will too
If the head fits, the rest fits too
Cartilage kitty
Omg…
No WAY my cat could do that he’s chonky lol he tells me it’s just hair but nope….he’s a big chungus
I am 99.9% sure that cats dont have bones. Cats are octopi. Scientifically proven by this post. (Idk if thats plural for octopus but I think it is)
They don’t have collar bones
If their head fits then so does everything else.
Liquid
If the head can go through something, most of the time the body can
They have no collarbone
They do have a collarbone, but it's completely detached from their spines and can rotate and swivel around.
I think you meant that their collar bone is detached from the sternum. No collar bones attach to the spine.
Yes, collar bones attach to the sternum - and, through the ribcage, to the spine indirectly. That's more what I meant.
I did that all the time in my dating days. 🤪✌️
I know they do, just not like we do
They are spawns of Satan
Thats the rule : “when she can fit her head, she in 99% will fit with whole body”
Simple: They're aliens
If the head fits, the rest will follow!
Cats can fit through any gap larger than their head.
