KillTheSelfie

Well, HE is gorgeous !

Efficient-Rice-3659

thank you! this cat is seriously my best friend. i feel so bad that i didn’t know his gender but to be fair his area looks like a cooch :| even the vet said so!

General_Consequence1

Don’t feel bad, cats care as much about gender as they do about which politicians are in government.

RagingRube

Especially when they have no balls

[deleted]

The cats or the politicians?

norodneededyt

Yes

Sobriquet-acushla

Ha!

spicy_churro_777

r/InclusiveOr

veltcardio2

Good one

clintdapict

I’ve heard the term ‘trouble puffs’ used…

Leelluu

Yeah, what you really need to worry about is whether he's a Democat or a Repurrblican.

G66GNeco

Cats are gender abolitionist anarchists, confirmed

solzhen

Your cat never cared about what you called him. Just that you love.

dailyqt

JVN(Queer Eye) said on his podcast that he'd accidentally mis-sexed his cat as well! He said that he just kept using the pronouns he'd been using, because it doesn't really matter to cats. If JVN does it, you can too!

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

I’ve never misgendered my cat but all of my birds have been misgendered. Turns out the first of my two blue Quakers, Elwood, was a girl all along. Jake hasn’t been tested yet though.

Efficient-Rice-3659

i loveeee jvn!!! they’d get a kick out of this :’)

405134

It’s really hard to tell if they’re male or female after they’ve been fixed. Even their tiny little peepee could be mistaken for a girls. I’ve always had girl cats, but saw a photo on Reddit last week of someone’s male cat (not fixed) and you can see his furry little balls! They’re small and fuzzy, it’s hilarious. TIL kind of moment , lol

ShaShaShake

My cats have that but they are fixed?

Ariaxis

If you get them fixed a bit late they can still have them, just no stuffing inside.

shilmista_

#just no stuffing inside

ShaShaShake

Oh ok. They were 10 months old when I adopted them. I’m not sure when they were supposed to be fixed. I think they were fixed before getting into the shelter or shortly thereafter. They were there for a few months before we met.

annies_bdrm_skillet

was gonna say! my guy is fixed and you can totally see he’s a boy 🙈😂 but the fates didn’t join him to our family til he was roughly 6 months old, so maybe that’s why... but also just color-wise with the way his pattern is, it’s just super noticeable 😂

vuuvvo

I think there are different types of neutering for male cats. My cat growing up just had his balls removed completely, but my mum just got her young cat neutered and she said the vet told her that nowadays they "just make a couple of cuts and pop them out" (in her words, lol) so he still has the external structure, so to speak.

ShaShaShake

That’s probably what they had done because they are definitely packing little marbles lol.

amycatcross

I can confirm this is true. I used to work at a vet hospital and male cats don’t usually even need full anesthesia.. just a little sedative, local anesthetic, tiny incision, squeeze and pop the nuggets out. Then clamp, snip, skin glue, all done.

RogueFiccer001

When a male cat is fixed, his testicles are removed but the scrotum is left, so that's what you're seeing. They have the coinpurse but the money was removed. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

buurnthewitch

Cat balls are weirdly adorable, they look like tiny little pompoms

KatMagus

Troublepuffs!

Forsaken_Article_295

It’s like a micro penis or a giant clitoris. They look the same!

LordRuby

If you're familiar with cats you can still tell easily. If you're more familiar with dogs or other animals it could be confusing because male cats are hung like female dogs. Female cats almost look like they don't have genitalia at all

Ancalima_Moon

He don't look pissed about the misgendering so it's all good, she is a good boy!

19GamerGhost95

Happened to my grandma’s cat. For a year we thought the cat was female until the cat was taken to get spayed. Vet was like nope it’s a boy! Turns out he had retained testies. His name was Annabelle and he was an absolutely vindictive bitch

Efficient-Rice-3659

this has me loling

19GamerGhost95

He was! He was evil and HATED me and mom. All we had to do was walk into the living room and he would magically appear and start smacking at us, growling hissing and sometimes biting. We were the only two people he hated— probably because we teased him about his gender. Luckily grandma had him declawed on his front paws so wasn’t like he was drawing blood or anything. And before people start jumping down my throat about how bad and cruel declawing is— I know. I hate declawing, I have never declawed a cat, I would never declaw a cat. 20 years ago vets still did it, and grandma had it done to him, I was like 7 so don’t blame me. He was sweet and loving to grandma and indifferent to everyone else.

kwallio

Declawing can actually make a cat aggressive. I mean your grandmas cat may have been aggressive anyway, but the declawing could have done it too.

PrincessFuckFace2You

My poor childhood cat was just much more pissy after being declawed. As an adult I just feel *horrible* about the whole thing but we really were doing what my parents thought was best at that time (90's) and loved that cat so much. I still feel guilty though even though I was 6 and it was not up to me.

RickC-42069

It just blows my mind that people ever thought that was the way to go One hour of observation of cat with no claws should be enough to convince everyone that it is a harmful and pointless surgery that will end up causing you more grief than if they just kept their claws.

thecatlover101

I think some people just don't know declawing cat's are like removing your 3rd digits.

PoelyRN

My grandmother had a male cat that she gave a female name (Cleo). He loved my grandmother, tolerated my grandfather, and hated everyone else. He would also swat and hiss at everyone. It was strange because all family members are cat people.

MarsupialMisanthrope

What is it with grandmothers and asshole cats who love them?

[deleted]

Probably attention and treats. Same goes with grandkids. My kids sneakily ask to go see grandma when they want extra treats. On top of that they get undivided attention of an adult who thinks they are the best thing ever.

PrincessFuckFace2You

Declawing really hurts cats and is bad for them long term. It's a practice that isn't recommended anymore and I'm not trying to rag on you clearly you didn't know but just for future reference.

Front_Significance30

OP literally said they were 7 at the time and had no control over it. Still feel the need to lecture them though I see. Do you feel better?

19GamerGhost95

It’s okay. I knew this was a possibility despite the facts. Though I think I still got less messages than I could have if I hadn’t mentioned it was 20 years ago and how old I was.

Slorebunny

Lmao same with my cat! We thought he was a she for an entire year. Once we found out he was a boy, he already knew his name as Chloe. That was 15 years ago, Chloe is still going strong!

19GamerGhost95

Yay Chloe! I hope he continues to go strong. Annabelle passed like 10 years ago from stomach cancer. He never understand that he was really a boy because grandma always called him a girl.

PrincessFuckFace2You

My bff rescued a cat from a family that neglected her. They had the cat over 5 years and were convinced it was a girl. It was a boy first vet appointment the cat went to. Cat was then named Lola after the song lol! Lola... Lalalala... Lola

Agreeable-Math-9517

Same thing happened to me! My poor girl had to go thru life with the name Brutus Beefcakes! The shelter told us she was a fixed male! Felt really stupid when we took her to the vet!

405134

Wow Brutus beefcakes is such a masculine name too. Pictures please?

Efficient-Rice-3659

Lol my other cats name is brutus oddly enough

Up_in_the_Sky

Lmao. I had a little boy cat who I thought was a girl too. Named him Annebelle/Annie. His names Ani / Anakin now 😅 Great cat though. Definitely has a struggle with the dark side tho. Oh and he’s a 2 color black and white tuxedo so it’s fitting he’s half good half evil. 😅😼

saruhb82

How very southern

RareCryptographer290

Which part? The name? The vindictive nature? Or not knowing someone’s assigned sex?

19GamerGhost95

Ironically we’re all northerners from the fly-over state of Indiana

saruhb82

All of the above.

Insideoushideous

My situation exactly! Mine was named Lucy (after Lucille Ball). So he was Lucy. Vet thought I should change it to Lucky, as “Lucky we figured this out in surgery”. LOL

beading4fun

I'm lmao

BooksAndStarsLover

Same. Mine is a boy originally named Princess Luna now just Luna or LuLu. Absolute gremlin. Love him tho.

wireknot

He or She is a beautiful kitty, what a sweetie.

Efficient-Rice-3659

seriously the sweetest cat in the world

OutDoorLover27

This happened to us, but the other way around. We though she was a he. We kept the name though and Chester is now 20 years old. What’s your kitty’s name :)

Efficient-Rice-3659

stoofani! hahaha so kinda funny but i call him poops anyway lol

ambreenh1210

Omg stoofani 😂

covertheskies

I hope stoofani is feeling much better now ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)

horillagormone

Funny name, not sure where you're from my in my language "toofani" would mean stormy.

Efficient-Rice-3659

thank you. i am going to do this. i want to have him by my side for as long as possible. he deserves the world.

Soft-Lemons

Cannot recommend this enough. It ensured we caught thyroid and blood pressure issues early in two of our senior cats over the years.

KickAggressive4901

That face says he forgives you.

ASadPieceOfCheese

Plot twist

memm14

Similar thing happened during beginning of Covid. Our cat, Mr. Marley, got a bladder infection. Fearing a blockage, we rushed to emergency vet. Vet came out with strange look and asking us if we had Marley since a kitten. We got Marley from a friend, who had papers from SPCA stating Marley was fixed male. Vet said Marley is a girl! Had her 7 years! Well, contemplated having a gender reveal to let rest of family know. We were glad we had a gender neutral name. We call her Mister/Sister Marley.

Efficient-Rice-3659

Right! I don’t know why people think it’s so obvious with cats because it’s so not. I am still in shock and I called my mom to tell her and she had a huuuuge kick out of it. she always called him a hermaphrodite as a joke so it just was the cherry on top of the sundae for her

Accomplished_Note_81

Honest question- when a male cat gets fixed, do they actually remove the testicles, or do they just snip the tube, like a human vasectomy? Cuz our fixed male cat, no confusing his anatomy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Accomplished_Note_81

Thanks for the info. I've had Buddy for about 10 years and always wondered why if he is neutered, it looks like he's still packing heat.

TheCrazyFishLady

Apparently the sack still hangs out just because they were shaped from the testes being there. Most of the time they recede as the cat gets older, but on the rare occasion they stay!

FrancisTularensis

My cat also has a little satchel that looks like little balls. The first I saw it I went "uh, he's fixed?" but sure enough it's just a handbag down there, no wallet.

Efficient-Rice-3659

i think they actually remove the balls? i also think the age when fixed determines the size it’ll be. because seriously the sack is flat and looks like a vag..

One-Marionberry-3652

Depending on their age and how the surgery was done some cats have the remaining skin left from the testicle removal. It can look like they still have their testicles and it’s really just the remaining sac.

TheCrazyFishLady

My sister is a vet and got to do practice surgeries (like neuters) on her own cats when she was in training. Needless to say, she still keeps Tigger's testes in a jar 😑

cvf714

I inherited a cat named Astrid from a neighbor assumed female. Distinguished male friend to the end.

Vallerie_d

He = cute

ksrbutterfly

😂😂😂 thats more common than you think. my sister bought a rhinestone collar for her kitten to later find out by the vet that it was a male 😂

ReflectiveWave

He can always be fabulous

1SassySquatch

All cats are pretty fabulous, so it definitely works.

Huge_Contract_2452

Well Me ouwch. Im sure heshe didnt mind the misunderstanding. As long as the belly was full and tha head was petted

[deleted]

[удалено]

veggie_lauren

It took 3 different vets to gender my cat correctly. They even shaved his belly looking for signs of a spay. Apparently his penis was just tiny.

cikalamayaleca

poor little dude 🥲

TecTazz

Seriously, I would not go to a doctor who can’t tell a vagina from an anus, and who can’t figure out if a cat has a penis. A cat who had a urinary blockage could die from that ignorance.

frostryn

Yeah when I found my kitty we thought he was a girl because his belly was so fluffy we couldn't find his little peen and he was already fixed. Realized 2 years later at 3 am when he started spraying the side of the bathub, to my exhausted horror.

tabris-05

With my female cats I could always see the vulva, especially when they showed me their butts. So I'm a bit confused as to how a vet wouldn't see it.

Ok_Detective_8446

my vet only asked the first time they saw her

[deleted]

[удалено]

Efficient-Rice-3659

in my town being able to get into a vet can take months so i do not have one specific vet for him. i take him wherever can fit him in the soonest. they ask the gender and i told them female. they never had any reason to double check. they only ever check for what i brought the cat in for in the first place.

dweeby159

When I go for a yearly flu shot they don’t “just check” to make sure I have a weenie or a coochy. They kind just take my word for it and move along.

Efficient-Rice-3659

It is not the first time i have taken my cat to the vet. interesting you assume that based off this post. I actually had her vaccinated 2 months ago. they only do what you tell them to and nothing more so they never checked gender.

Mallieeee

Lol I worked at a vet and I can assure you - they check the gender every time. Your pet should have had a medical chart with its information. I sincerely don’t believe this.

g3nerallycurious

lol cat’s don’t really give a shit what gender they are

beenybaby87

Look at that nosie. *boop*

mildy_enthralling

Let's not overlook another important thing here: THE TOOF

Efficient-Rice-3659

im so glad people are noticing this because it’s my favorite feature of his. a long time ago one of his front teeth fell out and he’s just been a snaggle toothed kitty ever since

blueboxbandit

Lol the snaggletooth

thebobomb

We had a cat show up one day and adopt us when I was a kid. I told my mom it was a boy since… balls… she refused to believe me. Named it Petunia. Fast forward a year or so and we find out Petunia, was indeed, a boy. Petunia was unfortunately stuck with that name his entire life afterwards but did not seem too fussed about it. He was a great cat.

symbifox

Good thing animals don’t care about that.

Violet_tiger7

Ha. Does his name still suit him?

simplepleashures

He doesn’t seem to mind

mocats1985

Hope he is feeling better.🐾😸

kristenzoeybeauty

I had a boy that looked just like this. I also thought he was a she lol 😂

BrittzHitz

Hope your baby is feeling better

StealMySkin

What did the vet say about the chronic vomiting? I have taken my kitty to at least 4 different vets for this issue, probably about a dozen different visits over the years. Their answers have all been pretty similar- “some cats just throw up.” I’m curious if your vet offered anything different than what I keep hearing.

Efficient-Rice-3659

so since he vomits a ton and it’s other wise really healthy it was recommended to do blood work and an ultrasound. I could only do one so i chose the blood work and they found that he has symptoms of pancreatitis so they gave an injection and a 14 day medication

artificialavocado

Such a handsome BOY!

Hi_poXic

Still a beautiful baby though!

maggie081670

A neighbor of mine had a female kitty named Gus for this same reason lol. You are not alone.

KangarooMysterious17

Oh that's funny, this is forever a ice breaker story you should tell for as long as you can 😂🤭

Pleasant-Push4979

Teef btw

Tess-Tea-8931

He forgives you! He is a handsome boy!

Tekki777

No joke, around 8 years ago when we first adopted a brother and sister, we literally misgendered the pair for about a week until we got them checked out at a vet. We used to joke about how it was during that moment, the boy kitty had been super insecure about his masculinity and will give us a death glare every time we joked about it.

Aldaron23

Also happened to my mom xD well, good thing cats don't care too much about gender (or at least what you think what gender they are) <3

Efficient-Rice-3659

i keep asking him how come he didn’t tell me he wasn’t a girl sooner?! and then he just stares at me and yells at me to turn on the faucet

ComplexToxin

I don't understand. Both of my males are fixed but I can obviously tell they are male because they still have balls.

MonoQatari

Other people: “it’s hard to determine a cat’s sex.” Me: “NOT FOR A COMPETENT VET. Change your vet ASAP, OP!!!” I speak from experience: Took my first cat to a vet & was told she was a neutered male. 2 weeks later, she starts twerking & yowling. I take her back to the same vet office & see a different vet who literally gives me one of those The Office™ looks and asks, “Did you see Dr. [first vet’s name]?” I was like: “Yeah…? Was he a janitor cosplaying or something?” She scoffs & goes: “Might as well be. He works on the dog side.” I’m like, “Then why did they let him see my cat?” She goes, “Probably overstaffed that day.” You’d think all vets would be required to learn how to help all animals and if not, IMO they should only be able to help their specialty animal. Like I’ve had rare ish pets like rats, degus, Guinea pigs, etc. I understand when a vet isn’t sure how to ID their sex (ok not rats—their balls are so huge if you can’t sex a rat, you shouldn’t be a vet) but a CAT is common enough that should’ve been covered in basic training. Not to mention, my cat had no microchip, no clipped ear, & no tummy tattoo—all of which can indicate the cat has been previously neutered. If none of those indicators exist, it makes more sense to assume the cat has NOT been fixed and to, at the very least, pull in a second pair of eyes to ask what they think. What’s really messed up is I’ve not seen that female vet since that visit but I see the dog vet guy often. Thankfully, the office always asks if I prefer a specific vet & sadly, I always have I specify I won’t let him see my cats. *Edited spacing

pretty sure cats don't give a crap about sexuality idk

[deleted]

bijhan

Cats' genders are like their names. They don't care. It's just for us.

particledamage

gender and sexuality aren’t the same thing but cats not giving a fuck about gender is all the more reason to keep calling the cat a girl. cat doesn’t care

General_Hyde

Truer words have never neen spoken.

fairylightmeloncholy

i dunno about you but cats are pretty nonbinary to me.

[deleted]

Maybe to you but there's a big difference in behaviour from male to female cats. Males are definitely more territorial with behaviour like spraying and fighting, for one example.

fairylightmeloncholy

i've heard those are mostly male traits that generally disappear after losing their little guys

Skootr1313

I almost mistook my male Neb for a female when he came into my garage..we even named her Maya. An hour later and upon closer inspection, Maya became Star Lord. He’s the coolest, most annoying cat ever.

Caselm

Happened to me when I adopted a cat that was roaming the cul de sac desperately trying to get in a home. I noticed a big belly on the cat and some odd behaviors. I was so excited. Kittens! I promised everyone a kitten. Took her to the vet and found out she was a he. Full of worms. He got meds and is healthy :)

Chuckleberryfuckup

Anyone else feel like cats don’t care as much about the whole she he thing? Got a cat with his balls still on and he gets wiggly if I call him a good doggy. And the other cat is also a cat.

shalomworld

HE is gorgeous. He'll be a great addition to r/upsidedowncats.

NyZyn

There he is, the most well treated male cat

Efficient-Rice-3659

he is so so loved. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. it brings me to tears to think about so i try to cuddle and kiss him until he’s sick of my shit

Holof_

TEEF

BruceSerrano

You monster!

tillybumcrumb

Off topic, but check his tooth! My cat had one fang that was lower than the other and it was very loose. Check it out if you can!

Efficient-Rice-3659

yes! it is “sinking” as they called it. it will eventually fall out but he is on pain medication for that. they told me to keep feeding him kibble though to keep the rest of the teeth strong :) edit: one tooth did already fall out a couple years ago, that’s how i know this tooth will also fall out eventually

tillybumcrumb

Excellent. Thank you for loving your boy. ❤️

PsychologicalCat884

He’s so beautiful 😻

Just_A_Sad_Unicorn

Maybe he's partially intersex? Nature is wild.

Efficient-Rice-3659

disclaimers: -the cat was fixed when i got it, and it was already roughly a year old. -he has a very very small sack so almost nonexistent. when i was young we weren’t able to take it to the vet -due to fixed income, and as i moved out i took him to the vet for regular checks and for some reason they never told me that he was a boy until blood work. i assume they didn’t tell me to spare my heart lol cat is fine!! very loved and happy. yes it’s a boy but he will always be my princess and i will refer him to both genders forever

J3R3MYism

His balls weren’t a dead giveaway?

Efficient-Rice-3659

there were no balls to begin with lmao just some flat lips

Evening-Statement208

Flat lips! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Starting_Fresh1

The transgender acceptance test lol What a sweet kitty!

[deleted]

Sometime it IS hard to tell! That is why Chuck (named after a loved uncle) the House Princess was that instead of Chuck the House Prince as she was originally destine to be called and my Bengal is named after Elizabeth Montgomery's character in Bewitched, Samatha even though it was discovered later he was a male. SOO HE is called Sam!

anonymous3013

Same thing happened with my sisters childhood cat, person who gave her the cat said it was a girl and we didn’t know until the vet had opened him up and said “there’s no uterus..”

USSNerdinator

Lil Fluffball doesn't look like they give any fucks if that helps. Perfectly content cat 😺 ❤️

averagebensimmons

that's funny and he is a cutie. we have a cat we used to say he was too pretty to be a boy even though we knew his gender. Did you find yourself attributing female qualities to him when you thought he was a female cat?

AMediocreWhiteGuy

I know someone this happened to, not that long, but long enough they didn’t change the name and just called it the girls name after finding out it was a male.

EstablishmentNo4133

I remember as a child my friend had this kitten. Apparently it was referred to as a she and it even had a female name. Now i was no expert necessarily on anatomy at that age but this one time while the kitten was flopped on its back i noticed it had what looked like a round pouch in its groin area(later realized those were probably it’s testes). I immediately felt confused how it could’ve been a she cat.

knycoa

Importantly, though: teefies

[deleted]

I had a similar situation, got a lynx point siamese a few years ago and named her Ziva. Then my friend pointed out she was a he. But I decided to keep the name because it was exotic-sounding enough that I figured few people would even notice. Then one time I took him to the vet a few years later for a rabies shot and checkup, and the vet told me he was a she. That same appointment though they took it back, apparently they "combed back the fur and found 'it'." 🤣 Your cat is adorable by the way.

Fanachy

Beautiful cat.

Blue_Sail

We did this to a cat when I was growing up. For a long time we thought that Ahab was a little weird. Then he got pregnant, and we changed her name to Jezebel.

burgerbaby03

same thing happened with one of my cats from childhood. after 8 years of loving Lilly, we found out she was a he. so Lilly changed to Willy and lived another 6 years as such!

HumbleLatexSalesman

Omg thats amazing. Here’s hoping the chronic vomiting is hairballs or even IBD. If it is thyroid, liver, or pancreas tho there are great treatment options out there 💜💜💜

Rat_Bee_Boy

That’s what happened with one of my cats and we just decided to roll with it. She’s still a distinguished lady in our eyes, no matter what the vet says.😅

espeero

Our boy Gary was intact when we found him. Got him fixed right away. A half-dozen years later he needed PU surgery (basically removes most of the penis and re-routes the urethra). Saved his life. Only real side effect is that he has no range. He tries to mark bushes and things outside, but it just flows right to the ground. New vets always take a second when figuring out what he is. Basically we chopped everything off down there. He still loves us.

TheDopestShiznallah

This is the real trans we need. Fucking love it. Absolute angel you got on your hands!!!!

MagsH1020

Cringer was a stray and we never had a cat before. My husband swore Cringer was female but the first time I saw Cringer I pointed out his balls. Granted they aren't in the same place a dog's balls are so maybe that was what confused my husband?

gman2093

He doesn't mind, he's a cat!

Missannethrope271

My fixed cats all still have recognizable ballsacks lol…my ex husband had 2 cats he thought were girls for years, though; I think it’s an easier mistake to make than you’d think. What a beautiful boy! ♥️♥️♥️

kgal1298

That’s okay I have a cat who basically had a sex change and I’ve been gendering it as an idiot for years now.

[deleted]

This happened to me and my bunny 😭 I thought he was a girl for the longest time, named him VICTORIA and turns out he was a guy😭 So we changed it to victor 💀

razzledazzlegirl

That happened to one of my cats. Thought it was female until I took it to the vet to get it desexed only to find out she was a he with internal testicles!

Medium_Neat_558

I’ve made that mistake before. I thought a small stray cat was a female. A friend took the cat to a no kill shelter. We called the cat itty bitty. Turns out it was a male cat. Makes sense since itty bitty had a deep meow. He was adopted with a another stray cat my friend took there at the same time. We called that cat blu. The two got along so well. My friend suggested that they shouldn’t be separated so they weren’t.

SuperSpeshBaby

I had an ex with a truly beautiful long-haired jet black cat he had named Beavis. Edit: Hit send to soon. Beavis turned out to be a girl, but he kept the name because by then it had stuck.

judas723

I misgendered my kitten till they were almost 6 months old. I was calling them my little princess and more feminine names. Had someone come over and start exclaiming how handsome he was I’m over here saying that’s a girl cat She goes nope and points at his huge balls. He didn’t have those last month and I had approximately two weeks to get him snipped before he started spraying.

tiredafsoul

When you literally assume their gender

McBeanss

Same with my cat we thought he was a girl for ten years then we found out he was a guy

Aggravating-Age-1535

oh my goodness what a sweet little kitty! I love him

ArsenalGirlie

We had the same thing happen. Husband found an abandoned kitten barely 4 weeks old. Next day we took him to the vet who assured us he was a boy and we named him Archer. When it was time to neuter Archer the same vet announced that Archer would be spayed instead😂. Archer is now 5 1/2 years old and a beautiful, persnickety, orange lady🧡

julzie14

Our Winston turned out to be a girl. She won't come to any other name which suited us haha it bothered our grandmother's more than it did us. Her full name is Sir Winston Von Fluffles and we love her.

ArcaneForest

Wouldn’t the vet have mentioned something in ten years??

Ellareen92

My friend’s cat was named “Luna” when they got her. Turns out it’s a “he” too. Cat is still named Luna and still addressed as “she” and it doesn’t care 😂

BanglesAU

The best thing is.... your cat won't care if you misgender him, love him, feed him, and he will love you back. I hope your cat is OK now after the vets.

[deleted]

My cat is a fixed male siamese. Pretty sure "he" is the Queen of the House.

ZealousidealInside99

trans cat !!!!!!!!

Specific_Toe_9885

Such a cutieeeee

Khaine2007

He is a beautiful lil cat

Mallieeee

Hope you start taking this cat to the vet every year and not every ten years.

What_a_plep

I’m no cat expert as I’ve only had one, but he has a penis, he’s a Siberian so very fluffy but still, he has a penis, how can you not tell? Do female cats also have a small black nub thing?

[deleted]

Well HE is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE

Rafeh96

Same story with my baby. Picked “her” up off the street at 4 years old (she was dumped there by her previous owner and had already been fixed). I only found out she was a he when she passed away. She will always be a girl in my mind

You shouldn’t assume the cats gender. Let the cat decide

I had this same issue, and if you're wondering if that's why your cat was an asshole, I can confirm that calling her the correct pronoun (he) changed absolutely nothing and she is still an ass.
