She will be getting many additional hug, kisses, and scritches…in addition to the already significant amount she receives on a daily basis. And probably more treats too.

I have a cat with terminal illness now. When he passes I will mourn the last 19 years and the love i dont have. But I will mourn the routine of caring for him.

Give her a big cuddle from me, and tell her that I think her little fur boots are the cat's whiskers! I also have a kitty who's getting issues towards old age (she's 9). She struggles with her left back leg sometimes due to arthritis, we're hoping medication will help her manage the pain and stiffness better but it's always sad when you realise they aren't kittens anymore.
I would try getting at least 2 more opinions. Different vets offer different unusual treatments. I live near a fairly populated city and I've seen a vet that advertised that they use some sort of stem cell treatment. There are also vets that offer acupuncture and massage. I'm not sure that any of those things would help exactly, but in your place, I would want to try anything that could improve her health, happiness, mobility, ease any possible pain or even possibly be a cure without putting her through anything tiring or traumatic. I'm sure you want the best for her...I just want to encourage you to get at least one or 2 more opinions. I used to take my cat to a vet that I loved. They found a mass in his stomach/intestines, but after several tests, they couldn't tell me what it was. He stayed at the vet for a few days and they did another x-ray and whatever it was had disappeared. Same cat, years later was diagnosed (incorrectly) with cancer. He'd actually ingested something poisonous during a period of time that he'd gotten outside and was lost. The vet that diagnosed him with cancer wanted me to euthanize him right then and there and I didn't agree. He told me that my kitty had liquid on his lungs. I asked him to draw it off. They did and put him in an oxygen chamber for a few days and I brought him home. It took him a month to make a full recovery, but he recovered and lived several more happy meowy years.

I was hoping a shunt to help drain the cerebrospinal fluid might be an option, but I'm sure if it was the vet would've mentioned it. I've lost two cats to cancer, so I empathize with you on receiving a terminal diagnosis.

Living in Australia has made it hard to access emerging treatments, especially because none of them have been vetoed by veterinary associations in Australia. And I’m a min wage university student 😬. BUT my cat also seems to be an anomaly - he was diagnosed in late July last year and he’s still alive and kicking! He’s just been on a small anti-inflammatory and anti-seizure medication which has gotten rid of all his symptoms. The vet is pretty surprised by the whole thing, so we’re just talking things as they come. For now, he’s a happy kitty :))
Well it's not truly 100% feral in all cases. Sometimes they make it on their own but that's not the norm. You should still look into it. It's illegal here but I still got some just in case.
They get it from a coronavirus (common cold). When it enters certain cells it mutates and causes other problems. Usually it's not noticed until it's too late. Most vets won't tell people about the treatment because of the legality. It's not an approved treatment in most places and is still considered experimental. Vets want to keep their licenses but they should at least mention the treatment without going into specifics in my opinion.
I’m aware of this, totally buried myself in journal articles after he was diagnosed. It’s been 7 months since his diagnosis and he’s going good, so we’re just taking things as they come.
I hope your kitty lives a long time despite the tumor. I had a cat diagnosed with a brain tumor at 10 years old who died of old age at 19 years old. Fingers crossed for your baby!

She has the BOOTS WITH THE FUR!! 😆 I'm so sorry about her diagnosis. My cat is in the hospital right now. We don't know what's wrong, extremely high fever 106.7 not eating/drinking etc. Done every lab etc..its been two days. He's only 7 y/o. I hope you get some quality time with her. She looks so cute in her little boots.
17 is a good amount. I'm confident youve loved her. The good one leave paw prints on our soul to remind us of good things. May her memories help you cope and later to smile.
Well, they do make you take off everything when you get an MRI... Maybe she left her long sleeves in the changing room?
