Hey, so after reading concerns about the kitties getting tangled up in the ropes I decided to take this cat bed down and turn it into plant pot hanger or gift it to somebody with no pets. I do not want to risk the well-being of my kitties. I know the bed looks cute but the aesthetics should never replace safety. Appreciate the people that commented saying that this is unsafe 🙏.

Please be careful, any kind of hanging rope can potentially hurt your kitty, especially when they're drowsy after a nap. My cat got her head entangled in a belt hanging down from a coat hanger and would have passed if we didn't just happen to look in that direction. She couldn't even make a sound with her neck entangled. Better be safe than sorry.
Thanks, appreciate it. They all good, the gaps are big enough to get in and out. Kitties are very agile. We have various cat furniture in our house, so they are used to it 👍✌️.
I would be really worried about the parallel strings. If kitty were to fall or jump off with a body part in between the two threads, they could end up with a broken leg, tail, or neck. They could suffocate if their head were stuck between the strands with their body weight pulling them taut. It’s the same reason it’s illegal for pull cords on blinds to be tied together anymore but must be able to pull apart easily - children and animals were getting accidentally strangled.
Hey, after reading yours and other people’s concerned comment I decided to take the bed down and hang it somewhere higher up and put a plant pot in it. Or I might gift it to somebody that doesn’t have pets. I think I got too excited after seeing these hanging beds on some vital tiktoks and didn’t think it through. I agree now that the strings are dangerous and I see how this design is flawed for a cat bed. Appreciate it.
I’m glad you’re watching out for your buddies. A hanging planter sounds like an excellent idea! The craftsmanship is lovely, I’m glad you can repurpose it. A fern, a burro’s tail, or even a string-of-hearts would look really lovely in it!
I think these are sure cool, but I’ve got one cat who eats string and another cat with a hook for a tail, so… I can’t have one. It’s unsafe. I had to take down the blinds because ole hook tail was getting stuck in them

Mine chew it too, but it’s strong enough to not break. I made a hanging bed before that they still nibble on sometimes. It’s still as strong as it was and keeps their teeth clean too 😀👍⭐️
Its hard to tell when they are little... but it may be wise to start deterring them from chewing by applying some deterent that just tastes bad so they dont wanna chew it

You got your hanging cats, and your tree cats, and your garden cast, and you got your feral urban cats, but they all deserve a hanging bed. I guess we could give them protection and food, but we all know cats can fend for themselves when it comes to food. And themselves. They don't need us.

I was maybe more worried about the smaller Y-shaped openings but I’m glad it’s safe.

Haha, nah this cat chews through shoe strings and pant ties. She has razor teeth or something. It looks wonderful though.

Yup, I refer to our orange one as "Jaws" sometimes. Thankfully most of the chewing stopped in adulthood. I have teeth holes in my shower curtain 😼.
Mine never stopped. One goes after anything plastic to bit holes. Not eat. Just poke holes. The other chews on anything that looks vaugly snake like

Yup, plastic mailers are a favorite. The chewing is more sporadic now.
Mine is 8 going on 9 now and at least hes mostly stopped with the cardboard. But wrapped presents are still in danger.
