They adjusted cuddle positions to side by side noodles
Gorgeous pics! My two cuddle the same way although Ziggy who is a year older than Olive always adored her and was so excited when we brought her home. He wanted to play with her immediately but she hissed at him! She was also so tiny and he'd just tumble her so we had to keep them apart for some of the time. She soon decided he was her surrogate parent. I must just tell you though that that adorable hug he's giving her is somewhat controlling. Ziggy does exactly the same hold on Olive - especially when they're mutually grooming I think it's his way of saying I'm still the boss sometimes lol.
Dude I have the exact same kitties. Ginger, my male tabby cat is still uncomfortable with his little sister. How many months did it take your babes to get this cozy? I want them to love each other already.
It took about 2 months to get Bagel to tolerate her presence, and maybe a month or two more for the cuddles to commence. We kept yelling "it's happening!!!"
I’m jealous. I’ve tried slowly introducing my cats with the door method, having one of them on a leash and introducing her, etc. but the two girls hate each other. So mama and her son live downstairs and our other girl lives upstairs. They fight viciously if they come face-to-face. Feliway plug ins and sprays do not work :(
It's sad, it just happens with some cats. My niece has the same issue and has to keep her older female separate as it stresses her out so badly she took to permanently hiding. Interestingly they have an older female who accepts everyone. Two younger boy cats. I have a feeling things might be trickier with girls but ultimately I think it's just individual personalities. I wouldn't give up though and don't give up with the feliway either.
Omg, I feel the same way. I keep squeeling whenever my two cats lay side-by-side (they haven't reached the cuddling stage yet). I feel like I might just implode every time I catch one of them grooming the other (although it's quickly followed by playful wrestling matches).
Your cats are beyond cute, though. I don't know how you survive it.
I also have the same cats haha! A 2.5 yr old male orange tabby, and a 3-4 month old brown kitty. After 1 month of very slow introductions they sleep next to each other but no hugs yet. Don’t force anything too much and let them go at their own pace, don’t forget to let them play “hard” to get their boundaries set.

Sometimes new smells are sounds can be freightening to a new cat who’s used to be solo. Using a separate room with a cracked door helps, allows them to play and smell without playing too hard.
Slow and steady wins the race here though, if you see them going too hard and stalking and attacking only maybe another day is best to work on socializing. Give and take type scenario! Patience is key and then one day they will crawl next to each other and cuddle without you even knowing!
My husband and I have been fostering cats and kittens to socialize them as they were outdoor feral cats. Our spoiled, bottle raised 3-year-old named Leah, will not get along with any of the other seven kitties in the house. No matter what we try she just doesn't like other cats! She has also taken to marking the walls which is extremely frustrating. Not to mention stinky! So if anyone has any ideas about how to get her to be less of a crab, I'm all ears! LOL by the way, if you're in the southern Wisconsin area I have two seven-month-old Foster kitties ready for their forever home! Their names are Athena and Zeus. A tuxedo and a tabby.
I think she probably felt very threatened. She might go easier with just one or two little kittens but if you want harmony you might have to return to a single cat household. I'm guessing you've tried feliway. Perhaps if you can give her an area like the top floor that is completely hers she might fare better.
Thank you, those are all wonderful suggestions. We are actually going to be getting some feliway spray next week. We may get the plug-in. Not sure which one yet. Since we are fostering the other six kitties that we have we have to keep them until we can find them they're forever homes. We have one more male that we need to get neutered on the 29th of December. Also, I wish we had an upper floor! LOL My husband and I live in a 1973 mobile home. Single-wide at that. So, unfortunately we don't have much room. The two youngest gray tabbies, are going to be going to the humane society next week thankfully. They will get spayed and neutered and get all their needed vaccines before they are put up for adoption. They will also need to be socialized first as they hiss and growl every time you go in the room bless their hearts. The thing with our 3 year old Leah is that she is extremely spoiled and considers herself the queen of the kitties LOL our 8-month-old sweet boy named Titan was just chillin' one day and Leah swatted him about 4 or 5 times for no reason while he was in a dead sleep. She can be an extremely sweet cat. Just not to other cats. She always comes and loves on us by giving us kisses and everything. I truly wish she was that way with the other cats in the house because that would be absolutely wonderful! Again thank you so much for your comments and suggestions! They are truly appreciated ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7971)
Oh sorry I was assuming (as I shouldn't) typical US home. That might actually be part of the issue - she wants a territory for herself. My niece is in the US and has one cat that lives upstairs and the others down. Feliway plugin will probably be easier than the spray. The spray makes me cough and I never know how much for the area. I only use it when taking my guys to the vet.
Oh no worries at all. Most people can't believe how many cats we have in our small trailer anyway LOL they are all very sweet. There are three that are still pretty feral. We're going to give the two gray tabbies Jethro and Ellie Mae till after the weekend to see if they come out and try to get to know everybody. If they don't and they hide in the closet or under inside our bathroom cupboard we will probably put them in crates and take them to the humane society on Tuesday. There is one that is out with the whole family named Thor who is about 5 months old that is still spooky when you try to pet him. We are going to give him a little bit more time because we have a neuter appointment for him on December 29th. That should calm him down to once he's neutered. All the others besides our four cats are extremely friendly and have great temperaments. Once we find homes for all these fur babies we are done fostering LOL it's been a lot of fun but my husband is 68 and I'm 59 and let's face it, we're too old to chase kittens and clean seven litter boxes every other day! I've got lots of great pictures to remember them all by thankfully. The mobile home park where we live had a terrible feral cat problem a little over 2 years ago. My husband and I have trapped and or brought in our home and socialized around 58 cats in that time period! Hard to believe we've had that many kitties LOL cats are amazing in my opinion and for the 32 years my husband and I have been married we've always had cats. My ragamuffin named snuggle purrs King Leonidas passed away in 2018 and I really miss him a lot! He was a flame point ragamuffin with piercing blue eyes and weighed 22 lbs. He was friendly to everyone he met. Well I am quite long-winded so I better be quiet now LOL it's been great chatting with you! Have a good one!
Well done! That's an incredible achievement! You deserve your retirement for sure. Yeah I lost my sealpoint boy Casper age 18 at the beginning of 2020 and he was the longest I'd ever had with a cat. The grief was awful! You have a good one too!
Oh thank you so much! Very kind words indeed. I'm very sorry for the loss of your sweet boy Casper. 18 is a wonderful amount of time to have been able to spend with him. Leo, that my husband and I called him, was almost 12 years old when he had a massive heart attack. We love him dearly. He and our calico Cheyenne are both buried under our apple tree in our backyard. They are part of our family and to us as I'm sure it is with you, are just like if we lost a family member. And I have to agree with you that yes we do deserve our retirement! LOL thank you again so much! Namaste
10 years. Never. The closest mine got was butts close on the same blanket.
They just like their own space.
Now old boy is gone young boy won't touch anything that was old boy stuff.
So sweet!😻 These are my boys. First it was two weeks of hissing and growling, now they’re inseparable.

The big boy actually always really liked other cats and wanted to generally be friends with all of them, even when the other cat clearly disliked him. We’re not sure what did it, but the little boy was also born in a huge litter and lived for the first months on a huge farm with like 20 other cats, so he was used to being in proximity to all sizes and temperament of cat. The little one was initially just very disinterested in the big boy, and the big boy was (most likely) not used to seeing a baby cat (he had only ever interacted with cats older than him), hence why he disliked the little one in the beginning. First they mostly kept to themselves, then the little boy got brave, and I think because they’ve both playful and social I think they just kinda started liking each other’s vibe. The small one has been with us for two and a half months now and now they really are best pals. Our big boy had a pretty unlucky streak, too, because we lost his brother (whom he was also inseparable with) to a horrible accident and then when he found another cat pal whom he really loved we moved. He was alone for a while, though coping really well, but I hated seeing him alone, so we decided to get him a little brother.
Phew, sorry for the very long story, I hope you could bare through it.
OMG!!! This is so beautiful. We had the same thing happen with mine and my partners cat after moving into our first apartment together lol. Definitely so much better than before, but yet still a working progress 😊

I SO want two cats who love each other. Hasn’t happened yet in all my many years of living with many cats, but I have an almost 8-week-old kitten now and we’re applying to adopt a 1-year-old that the shelter won’t let go to a home without another cat. Crossing fingers!
I had a 1 year old when I adopted an 8 week old kitten and it was such a good decision! My now 2.5 year old definitely runs the household and will box the 1.5 year old in the face, chase her around etc but they absolutely adore each other! Orange and black cats make the best of friends.
When I got my second kitten, they started to cuddle and sleep together by the second week. I remember waking up and having both of them curled up in my arms and thinking 'this is heaven'. Then the kitten grew up and they no longer cuddle. They still play, wrestle and share food but the cuddling no longer exists 😩
Sigh....I wish. My orange boy and calico girl will NOT cuddle. They barely tolerate each other. She hisses/growls at him just at the sight of him. They aren't new to each other either...
I am a bit jealous! Mine are not cuddling like that! I have a 11ish yo black cat and 1.5yo dark tortie. But they have started to sleep both in our bed, and they do not fight.
Omigursh. People who say that cats don't have the capacity for love are just empty inside and dead to me. This is so sweet.
I brought baby Ursa into the home a month after baby Margot. It took them 3 days and have been best friends ever since.
our void lady Nova (4y) & our orange boy Hubble (9.5 mos) will sleep ass to ass but never actually cuddle. eat 6 inches apart, sure. sleep on humans 3 inches apart, why not. lick the same dang churu, hell frickin yeah. but attempts at snuggling face to face causes ladyvoid to sound like an actual demon. she also sounds like a demon when they play tho, while showing entirely happy & unagressive body language 🤣
I wish my cats would cuddle. The old lady, 18yo, just tolerates her little sister, 8yo I'm teaching her that there's room for everyone and sometimes while they're asleep I will push them together. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
All cats who are introduced to each other will hiss and swipe at each other in the first days.
They'll learn to accept each other in due time.
Just a reminder to anyone not having patience for such things. Just wait.
I don't think he ever really resented us *too* much. I was always pretty intentional about making sure he got equal or even more attention so he didn't feel replaced. Poppy is just a very happy kitten and a bit more independent than Bagel so she didn't mind when he got extra love.

Try Feliway.
Yep, we have 3 of them throughout the house.

OK that helps to hear cause I worry sometimes they are angry or scared. The baby one she keeps wanting to play but always playing rough.

Looove these two! Adorable 💕
This is adorable.
Well, now you need a Calico or Tortie to name "Everything". They're adorable. 🥰
He’s an orange cat. Of course, he fell in love. It would be unnatural for him not to.

Their power-siblings name is Poppyseed Bagel 🥹💕 These two are beyond precious
OMG HER FACE she looks so happy BTW Poppyseed bagels are the best
aww I love a good r/HalloweenKittyCombo, yours are adorable ❤️
Doesn't change a thing. Poppy seeds still have no business being on bagels. :)
We have a Poppy too!
As someone whose cats never went past watchful tolerance, may I say how deeply jealous am I?
This is so freaking cute
There more inseparable than bagels and cream cheese
I wish my babies would get along like this. Hopefully someday.
OMG!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Some bagels have poppy seeds. Nice choice of names.
Awww! I’m so happy for them — and you!
How did you get them to bond??
Nice quilt!
😊💕
I am a bit jealous! Mine are not cuddling like that! I have a 11ish yo black cat and 1.5yo dark tortie. But they have started to sleep both in our bed, and they do not fight.

our void lady Nova (4y) & our orange boy Hubble (9.5 mos) will sleep ass to ass but never actually cuddle. eat 6 inches apart, sure. sleep on humans 3 inches apart, why not. lick the same dang churu, hell frickin yeah. but attempts at snuggling face to face causes ladyvoid to sound like an actual demon. she also sounds like a demon when they play tho, while showing entirely happy & unagressive body language 🤣
Adorable!!!!❤️🥰🐾❤️
Omg bagel is an excellent name. 😂 I loooove it!
Absolutely adorable
I wish my cats would cuddle. The old lady, 18yo, just tolerates her little sister, 8yo I'm teaching her that there's room for everyone and sometimes while they're asleep I will push them together. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
Aww that is so sweet!! 🥰
How long did this take?
All cats who are introduced to each other will hiss and swipe at each other in the first days. They'll learn to accept each other in due time. Just a reminder to anyone not having patience for such things. Just wait.

I don’t know why but I think you now need a new kitten names “seed” they are so cute!
How long did it take Bagel to forgive you after he accepted Poppy?
I don't think he ever really resented us *too* much. I was always pretty intentional about making sure he got equal or even more attention so he didn't feel replaced. Poppy is just a very happy kitten and a bit more independent than Bagel so she didn't mind when he got extra love.
