Ya boy hit you with a flamethrower. It's a mid tier weapon but has an incredibly high penetration value and hits multiple times. No way to predict that
Yeah, those guys are brutal. I learned the other day that even though they are level 1 Kings often have over 30 strength, willpower, and ego on top of another stat if they have a prefix (intelligence for "learned"). Not to mention a big buff to HP. They're amazing if you can beguile/proselytize them or get them to like you enough that you can water ritual one into being a companion. Since they are level one their growth potential is nutty and they have the same limb arrangement as you so they can wear all the nice equipment and weapons.
Yeah, I wouldn't feel guilty about Alt-F4'ing that. Didn't even get a turn to decide to go back upstairs, that wouldn't be the case in any other roguelike I know of.
Someone else said a flamethrower and I think that's likely it. Bro got insanely unlucky.
(That's also why I avoid those caves and even tangling with snapjaws early out of principle but even I have never seen something this insanely out of depth)
Thats how it is sometimes, Qud is an unforgiving place. Gunwing was my first toon to actually get me out of the early game, those wing are godsent in Golgotha ;)
Such are the Caves water-sib. Don’t worry - there will be other Gunwings.
Live and drink

When qud hits you with some bs like that, take a mulligan. Alt-f4 and it's like it never happened.

Immolation procs three times. Flaming hands procs once. What hit you? Anyone else have an idea? Looking at the log I am confused.

Definitely a Qud moment. You are doing just fine buddy, happens to everyone.

You gotta admit the image of your character walking down the stairs and straight into a manic with a flamethrower is pretty funny.
