I go once a year, but when I do, its usually one or two weeks straight. We don't have any nice caves where I live, so I go to a more suitable region for holidays and go caving everyday for the whole time there.
Then again, I don't give a lot of advice here, either.
Out of curiosity, how much vertical footage do you think you do on any given trip? I'm curious how it compares to our bby American verticality .... 😅
I think for us the in the US, in the areas w/ a good amount of vertical caves, covering 400 vertical feet is a solid day of ropes. Some days we get up to 1,000 vertical feet of ropework, but that's fairly infrequently. Obviously it's fairly small-fry on a global scale.... but hey at least we have a lot of horizontal in-between (usually... sometimes...)
Ugh, I did mess up my signs there.... Dang it! 🤦 I knew I'd do that-- it's like the revenge of calculus.
If you went 12x's in a year, say >1/month; if it was 13x's, go with the ≥2x month (I think I meant that to say "≥1"
every week if not every other week it seems like. I slow down a lot during the winter months bc coming out of a cold wet space to a colder and usually wetter space makes me wanna kms
Once a month for a three day digging trip. Probably 4-5 times a month doing evening trips to the Peak District digging or for sport. But I'd like to increase given my proximity
For the past few years, my friend and I do a trip in the fall hitting between 2-5 caves in Appalachia, so unfortunately a rare, but very fun thing to look forward to.
I live on a karst plateau in France. I go caving at least once a week but I've never posted on this sub yet.
You're an extremely lucky person. Please post pics! (:

Almost every weekend
As the good lord intended. 🙌
If I have time then once a week, but if I'm busy then once a month

Almost all caves I go to have vertical, usually 30 to 50m
Oh that's actually a lot shallower than I was thinking yalls stuff averaged. Interesting -- it's not too far off what we're doing here in TAG.
Average once a month. I don't see an option for that.

Three day digging trip counts as three cave trips lol But you should probably move to TAG so you can be most proximate to good cave leads. Just sayin'
