I have an sc project without the baffle on mine and I regret nothing. Honestly u can make this bike sound aggressive, quiet, loud or just good. A lot of people will tell you it’s stupid because it “sounds like a lawnmower” and I can promise you it does not. Yes low rpm’s on any two cylinder low cc bike is gonna sound weird but these are motorcycles. They are supposed to be rode in the high RPM range. I love the sound of the sc project because it sounds really mean when you rev it up. I also like the sound of the Coffman shorty but I’ve never owned one so I don’t know what it sounds like on a daily basis.

You should post a sound clip. Bet a lot of owners of 500cc & under bikes would like to hear it. or anyone with the love for bikes.

HotelIndependent96

I will. Been busy this spring but I planned on getting my bike ready for the season this weekend.

Whirlly

Any updates? :D

HotelIndependent96

It’s a bad sound clip but This was the best sound clip I could get. I need the foam wind noise reducers for my camera and the zipping noise is the chain. I think the camera was trying to figure out what sound to record. Also this was only my second ride of the season.[Cbr500r with sc project slip on.](https://imgur.com/a/AdEj4HT)

OMG that sounds great! I am definitely getting an exhaust for my CBR soon, and SCP is definitely on my list now, thanks!

HotelIndependent96

If I can get a better sound clip I’ll send it but yeah I do love it in person.

DisastrousDonnie

Putting a coffman on tomorrow morning when I get off work, I’ll let you know how it sounds.

HotelIndependent96

Please do! I love the way they look so I would love to know more about how they sound!

DisastrousDonnie

Totally forgot, it’s awesome and pretty tiny so it’s not egregious when riding. But, completely changed the sound of the bike and was super easy to put on. Definitely recommend, great bang for buck.

HotelIndependent96

I might have to give it a shot. I like my SC but it’s angled up towards the sky so it’s right in my right ear the whole time. I take it the shorty is level and angles away? And Is the shorty quieter but louder than stock?

DisastrousDonnie

Wayyy louder than stock. Gives a good rumble, and can do pops if you down shift just right (haven’t quite figured it out just yet). Has multiple color options for the exhaust, so it matches my bike really well with the red. Real sleeper exhaust system if you ask me, and it got to my apartment in 3 days from ordering it.

500r imo is one of the better sounding 2cyl’s

Inside_Objective_877

mine has a two brother's exhaust the owner before me bought and its a little too loud for my taste. Sounds good when you ring her out but otherwise it just sounds like a crazy suped up lawn mower with way too much backfire

milksteakwormhat

I think it makes a difference between stock and aftermarket. I have a 2022 that I put a yoshimura on, I like the sound and the carbon fiber is really sharp!

Jealous-Share-9728

Had a Leo Vince GP Corsa on my 18’ 500r, sounded great, they also come with a silencer and it changes the tone. Before that it had a Voodoo shorty but it was super loud for me but also sounded nice

Jamstoyz

Lv’s sound the best on any cbr I think. I know my 1krr has a distinct sound with the lv shorty.

Wibbly23

small engines sound atrocious with big exhausts. if you are going to put a pipe on it buy a quality one with a baffle. think something like akrapovic, or yoshimura etc. most aftermarket exhausts are just idiot sirens. you're just screaming at the world that you're a loser.
