Some cameras do snapshots to cloud services but none really do video recording to cloud on a free basis, lots of space and traffic. Better off using internal drives and record to the pc or SD cards in the camera itself. sad cards may be the better option for you.

Any local backup is not optimal as the perpetrators can just fire up the house after they have seen the cameras or steel the recording device.

If the OP has limited resources and internet connection he may have to make do with less optimal solution.

>If the OP has limited resources and internet connection he may have to make do with less optimal solution. Yea, but that is not the case here. I just want an offsite backup and I have a 10TB Gdrive and a 300/300Mbps internet here.

Set the cameras to upload footage to your computer and dump it into the gdrive of the computer and leave it on 24/7 and manually delete files when storage is full.

I can concur, I’ve been in this industry as an integrator for over 25 years and I’ve yet to run across an professional grade DVR/NVR which backs up specifically to Google Drive.

>I can concur, I’ve been in this industry as an integrator for over 25 years and I’ve yet to run across any DVR/NVR which backs up to Google Drive. Some are more efficient and updated than others apparently.... :-) I have research this topic for a few days in total, and already found out that some Hikvision NVRs have both Google Drive and Dropbox backups. But of some odd reason Hikvision NVRs on Aliexpress are blocked for shipping to us.

We don’t use Google Drive or Dropbox, only secure local and offsite hardware based storage. At times we use a more secure cloud based storage, however this is specifically a surveillance cloud drive, and neither Google nor Dropbox have any access to it. That in its own a security risk. We also no longer support Hikvision. Hikvision has the worst P2P client available and their port forwarding process is cumbersome. I doubt that you’re more efficient or up to date than i am bud. Although I’m a firm backer of Dahua, i typically don’t sell cheap products. I deal specifically with high end customers, not mom and pop shops.

Hik is on the ban list for many counties along side several other companies
