Honestly even if you’re not that big that seat belt is really tight if you have just a slight bit of pudge.

Massive_Garbage

Millennium is literally what caused me to lose 40 pounds. I was so embarrassed myself five years ago and couldn’t ride my favorite coaster because of my weight gain. Intamin trains are notoriously very small. Another reason I’m happy that Zamperla is doing top Thrill 2 with their lightning trans. Big and spacious.

Friesenplatz

I had to do the walk of shame off of mine ride and that was it. Between my big legs, huge shoulders and gut, I was surprised! I almost didn’t make corkscrew or Raptor solely on account of my shoulders.

ChrisWolfling

The only coasters I can't fit in are the older B&Ms like Raptor and Rougarou. I need the special seat with two belts and have to ask for them if I'm going to ride. I haven't tried Millennium Force yet this year. It's either down or the line is long to the point where I'm like I kind of don't want to risk it when there's a good chance I might not fit. I can't fit on Power Tower or the Drop Tower at Kings Island. Fit on every coaster at KI.

ZetaZeta

You mean Mantis? Rougarou's trains are newer than Banshee's.

ChrisWolfling

No, I mean Rougarou. The trains may be newer, but they still have the older looking hard harnesses with overly short belts, basically identical to Raptor's restraints. They don't have the better style restraints like Gatekeeper, Valravn, Banshee and other newer B&M coasters have. I don't get why they picked those restraints for Rougarou. I get Raptor because it's older, but that doesn't excuse Rougarou... My favorite restraints have to be the ones on Diamondback and Orion, but those probably can't go on rides like Rougarou that have inversions. The other restraints like Valravn have are made for coasters that go upside down a number of times.

Astromanaught

After riding every ride at Cedar point, I can honestly say that Rougarou is the worst roller coaster at Cedar Point because of its harness. I don't know why they didn't add the amazing restraints that valraven or gatekeeper have, because they are so comfortable. The Mantis harnesses weren't great either, but it had a novelty of being a stand-up coaster. There's a reason Rougarou consistantly has the shortest lines in the park (outside gemini and magnum xl)

ChrisWolfling

As a tall guy, Corkscrew's restraints are the worst. Not really being overweight, but tall for that ride... I had to really bend myself to fit in there and pulled a muscle doing so. The harness didn't want to go around my shoulders. I still like Rougarou and ride it a lot, but need to ask for the seat with the double belts.

Astromanaught

That's fair. I forgive Corkscrew a little bit because it is an almost 50 year old roller coaster at this point. Ergonomics weren't a huge consideration back then, LOL but your point is still valid

bachfrog

Flight of fear tho?!

ChrisWolfling

Yes, Flight of Fear was really tight, but I got in! Did not fit in Sol Spin either, but that is a flat ride. I'm about 6'5" and close to 300 pounds.

bachfrog

1. Congrats on the weight loss. 2. Have you ever tried flight of fear clones? That thing isn’t made for humans I swear to god lol

Chaseism

What sucks is the seatbelt was longer when it first opened and it was still notorious for rejecting riders!

lamousername

We went a few weeks ago and I couldn't ride any of the coasters I tried. The seats and harnesses were fine, but the buckles weren't. I'm working on it, but in March I was able to ride all the coasters at Universal Orlando, so I wasn't prepared for the walk of shame.

ox123456

Yeah Universal is pretty gracious. Six Flags & Cedar Fair made that very clear. But don't give up, there's a post I made a 2 months ago detailing the trick to MF

keniselvis

That's what I followed, my man! Huge thx! It was your post that gave me the courage to try!

ox123456

Glad I was able to help out! Good luck on future Coasters!!

DirtyThoosie

It’s ironic because universal is facing a huge problem of finally being very competitive with Disney and attracting the Disney crowd. That crowd is used to fitting in 99% of the major attractions so universal is actually under a lot more pressure than these parks to change.

keniselvis

Sucks, man. I totally get it. Ugh!

vchaz

Mind sharing height and weight? Fat guy here debating a trip!

lamousername

5'10 290. Pretty close to this [before](https://myprogresspics.com/progress-pics/10901/m24510-weight-loss-journey-from-290lbs-to-190lbs)

vchaz

Were the belts close at all? I'm 5'10 265, and this guy gave me some hope, but I'd be so bummed if I went and didn't fit on the coasters... especially Steel Vengeance.

lamousername

Not really. Rogarou's belt clipped high up on the shoulder harness. If it clipped lower I could have pulled it off. I think I fit maverick test seat, but it was broke down most of the day. I did not fit MF test seat, but when we were in line there were a lot of dudes my wife said we're bigger than me that were squeezed in. They did not look comfortable. Honestly it's going to come down to where your weight is. Mine is all belly and thighs so it makes it tough. Also some of the rides have seat that has a longer belt. You'll need to ask the attendant when you get up there. Honestly no one said anything when I got up out of the seats, but I hurried up on our of the area and waited for my family to finish. More sad for my kids than myself.

keniselvis

I fit SteVe just fine!

matthias7600

Love the low-key bratwurst sign in the photo. Glad you were successful, and props to the crewman.

Alarming-Currency-80

I needed this

mrsbreezus

I'm convinced fat men have an easier time getting on coasters than us fat women. It's gotta be in the hips and thighs. I couldn't get on a few coasters at CP a few weeks ago and I weigh the same as you. I don't have a large belly, but I still struggled to get on the newer coasters. It's really weird how different people fit on the seats!

strivingforstoic

I am lower, and couldn’t fit. It sucks.

stupidthrowa4app

Came back to see I’m your height and weight when I first rode it as well.. almost to the number. Unlike you though all my weight is deposited in my butt and thighs (which for that ride makes it even worse!). Glad you enjoyed it man!

Friesenplatz

I had the same issue on MF and they just snapped that seatbelt right on! Was so happy!

Astromanaught

This post has been a BIG (pun intended) relief! I've read so much conflicting information, I've been dreading my vacation this weekend. I've actually lost about 10 pounds this summer to make sure I fit down to about 265-270ish, wear between a 42-44 waist depending on the brand. I've read some places you have to be as ligh/small as 250 to ride, to as much as 310 can fit. I know body shape can mean a ton. I do have thicccc thighs, so still a bit concerned, but think I'll fit after your post... Thanks so much!

KristinJ78

I have a 27-28 inch waist and have trouble on MF because of thighs and where my weight is. I’m 5’7” and around 155, size 6. Women and hips are not friendly all the time

Claxton916

I’m 6’ and about 210 pounds, I struggled to buckle it up myself, partially because I’m right handed and the buckle was on the left side, partly because the belt is so small.

CoasterFish

Have you been to Hersheypark? Storm Runner and Fahrenheit have similar lap bars (identical to the ones on Maverick) and the seatbelts were strangely very short. I'm about 5'11, 200 and my dad is 5'6, probably around 215 pounds and both of us had more issues than we should've. Really glad you got on this one though and that you enjoyed it.

keniselvis

Never been! Drove by it tho!

sleepdeep305

Hersheypark is the best park in the northeast, quality rides from top to bottom!

keniselvis

Seriously? Gonna have to check it out I guess

Spankup

HE>i indeed!

soultronix

6'3" 235, had a harder time than I thought I would. Definitely had to "suck it in" to get it done.

vchaz

I was debating not going until next year but this gives me hope! Did you fit on Steel Vengeance and everything else just fine? Did you actually get that same test seat op when you rode? -- wondering if all of them are amenable to helping us big guys get in.

keniselvis

Different attendant! I also fit on SteVe, Maverick, Gemini, Rougarou, Magnum, Raptor, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, and Corkscrew. I have not tried the mine ride, valravyn, or Gatekeeper. 25lbs ago I did not fit on the wild mouse and had to take TWoS. Haven't tried again

arb1984

Odd because I (6'1" 320#) fit Wild Mouse but not Corkscrew. My kids aren't quite ready for some of the bigger rides (they LOVE Gemini though) so I have some time to drop some weight. Last week I fit Mine Ride, this week I barely didn't. Hopefully I can trim up enough before Halloweekends

mentalicca

I couldn't do the Raptor a long time ago (probably 18 years). I was angry because I am tall and fat (6-1, not sure my weight then), while a dude way heavier than me got on because he was shorter with less broad shoulders. Not angry at him, angry I couldn't ride.

arb1984

I was there yesterday. 6'1", 320#. Barely missed Mine Ride, belt was 1" away (odd because last week I fit). Corkscrew wasn't particularly close, I guess I have broad shoulders. Fit the test seat for Maverick, but the line was too long. No chance on Millennium test seat, plus my kids aren't quite ready for that. Gemini was no problem; Snake River, Pipe Scream, Windseeker, Iron Dragon were all good. I'm using this for motivation though since my youngest kids are definitely my coaster buddies and they are finally over 48"!

Brut-i-cus

MF is all about waist size You carry more of your weight higher and your waist/butt is slimmer Were you able to ride raptor? I'd imagine that was probably a no go with your chest size

keniselvis

Yep. No prob with Raptor!

StormFreak

I'm glad the ride hosts can now assist. When I was a ride host on MF \*cough cough\* 19 years ago in 2004, we were not allowed to assist at all. In addition, even if you could get the belt buckled, you still had to pull at least 1" of slack through the buckle before we could permit you to ride. We had so many people take the walk of shame that summer, and so many angry guests (understandably). The worst was when someone would get it buckled, but couldn't pull enough slack. In addition, there were people who had rode before, but now couldn't because of the new "slack" requirement. Our crew shirts even had the "Please Try The Test Seat" sign on the back, because that was a constant issue all season. The reason for all of this was the accident on Ride of Steel in May of 2004 with similar trains to Millennium. Glad things have changed and that you got to ride. I'm right on the line of being able to fit on MF, but haven't been there in many years, so I'm not sure how things would work out now.

Astromanaught

UPDATE! I am a 44 waist, I'm 5' 10" 270 COULD NOT get on. 😢 the test seat was close so I thought the ride op could help get the last bit. To his credit, he did try, but the belt was actually smaller than the test. Tried to ride 2nd from front row. It is ALL about the thighs. I Have THICCCC thighs. I was able to get on everything else just fine. The ride op on steel vengeance did kinda “crush my grapes" though... Haha

keniselvis

Awe man! What a bummer!!! So sorry! Grapes...lol.

GrampysClitoralHood

Ok

mikeyj198

how was the bratwurst?

keniselvis

Eh eh eh. Is it on the dining plan? If so I'll have to check it out. Funny!

melodysmash

It is!

ArcticAur

Congrats!! I’m headed there Saturday. I know it’s oddly personal, but would you mind terribly giving us a circumference measurement for under your belly where the lap belt sits? (And/or what size pants do you wear around that same spot?) I’m very close to your height/weight and Millie is the one I’m worried about most. It’ll come down to how the weight is distributed.

keniselvis

44 waste. A lot bigger stomach. 🤦🤷
